A strange power calls to him from the darkness: Varthos, guardian of the afterlife. Against his will, Theomar is sent back to face ancient creatures, dark cults, and forgotten horrors in distorted worlds. With each battle, he learns the rules of this new existence: magical weapons, strange potions, the loss of life – and the realization that failure is part of the journey.
