- On Target VR Darts Development Update - June 2022 - 2 June 2022
Greetings VR Darts people! First off, sorry that we've been MIA on Steam! We've been focusing most of our efforts on developing the Quest 2 App Lab Standalone build of the game, which is complete and being updated regularly. The Q2 version is a full game complete with 5 game modes (Freethrow, Cricket, X01, Around the World, and Speed Darts), as well as 5 environments with Passthrough. The Quest 2 and Rift builds also have cross-platform multiplayer fully ready and working with 2 player Cricket and X01, and up to 4 player Freethrow. We've updated a recent Oculus Rift build to our Steam store, but it seems that everyone is experiencing loading issues. We are reaching out to Valve to see if they can help us figure it out, so that at least everyone with an Oculus/Meta headset can continue to play the game. - Bug Fixed: Game won't show up or launch in SteamVR Home - 5 July 2021
We've fixed a bug where On Target doesn't launch properly with Steam. The game should now be visible in your Steam VR Home, and 'Play in VR' should work. You may need to restart Steam and Steam VR for the fix to work. Please let us know if you have any further issues, and sorry for the inconvenience. v1.1.0 Oculus (May 21, 2021): Steam VR launching issues seem to be resolved. You should be able to launch the game inside your headset as well as the Steam Desktop library Play button. Oculus build only. SteamVR build is still in maintenance mode.
- On Target VR Darts: Cricket Update! - 19 May 2021
We're happy to announce that we've added the super fun game Cricket to the mix, along with a whole bunch of physics, scoring and performance related updates. This is an Oculus update only for now. For best results, click Play in the Steam Desktop Library. Our SteamVR version of the game will be in maintenance mode for the time being, as we work to get it up to date with this large Oculus update. We're also working hard at finalizing our App Lab release along side cross-platform multiplayer. Looking forward to getting those out this summer! It looks like the last 1-3 Nvidia driver updates have fixed the physics lag on the SteamVR version. Throwing is back to normal :smile: So, if you haven't already done so, go ahead and update your GPU drivers to get the game back to the way it should be. We'll be moving our scoring updates from Oculus over to Steam shortly. Cricket is in Final testing now, and our Quest App Lab build is close as well. Hope everyone is safe and doing well out there!

If the game won't launch for you from the SteamVR menu... go to your Steam Library, right click On Target VR Darts > Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity of game files... This should fix the hanging loading screen and allow you to enter the game properly.
- Aim Assist Update - v1.2.2 - 15 March 2021
This update makes it much easier to throw darts accurately with the default settings. We've left Aim Assist on full (1.0) as well as switched the default Aim Assist mode to NEAREST. This method basically rewards the player for accurate throws, but still provides assistance with a throw that is lacking velocity and accuracy. The GAZE method allows the player to visualize their target with a red dot graphic on the board that moves depending on where you look with your headset. The trick is keeping your head steady while throwing at the target. Both methods and all settings now qualify for Leaderboard scores. The Aim Assist slider can also be reduced to blend your natural throw with some assistance, or turned off completely for no assistance and a much more challenging experience. Hello! We are currently here in our roadmap: Steam build 1.2.0 is ready with the new Aim Assist feature, currently in final testing. Oculus PC build 1.0.0 is ported over from Steam with Aim Assist, also in final testing. Oculus App Lab build 1.0.0 is also ported to Android with a few bugs left to iron out.
