This version of the Space Quest Collection has been optimized to support additional Operating Systems. Existing game installations will not be modified but shortcuts will default to the 2016 Collection. The other version can be accessed by right-clicking the game in your Steam Library and selecting Play Space Quest Collection Legacy.

The Kickstarter for "Two Guys SpaceVenture," a new title from Space Quest creators Mark Crowe and Scott Murphy, has passed its goal of $500,000 today. Described as a "sci-fi comedy adventure game," it plans to pack puzzles alongside pop culture satire. The Kickstarter ended at $539,767 spread among almost 11,000 backers. The point-and-click adventure title is aiming for PC, mobile, and tablet devices. You'll play as space plumber Ace Hardway and his robot dog Rooter, though you'll sometimes take control of the imaginary game hero and giant chicken Cluck Y'Egger. The story will be carried by a pretty impressive list of voice talent, including Gary Owns ( Space Ghost , Space Quest 4 and 6), Rob Paulson ( Pinky and the Brain , Animaniacs ), Robert Clotworthy (StarCraft 1 & 2), Ellen McLain (Portal 1 & 2), and John Patric Lowrie (Team Fortress 2). Remember the bumblingly-heroic space-janitor Roger Wilco? Indie developers Infamous Adventures, and another, unrelated developer called Team VSB have recently released a couple of free, fan-made efforts sure to please fans of Sierra On-Line's classic Space Quest series. Infamous Adventures has rebuilt Space Quest II: Vohaul's Revenge from the ground-up, implementing a number of significant updates, and Team VSB has created Vohaul Strikes Back, an unofficial new chapter in Wilco's comedic space saga. The Space Quest series carries with it some of my fondest early PC gaming memories, so naturally, when I noticed the report on IndieGames.com , I downloaded both games posthaste to give them each a brief test drive.
