- 5 Years since If Found…’s launch! :O - 22 May 2025
hey hey, it’s been 5 years, wow. thank you. https://www.instagram.com/p/DJ1-jfAMAV_/ Liadh made this awesome art on Monday for the anniversary (I'm always delighted to see more happy beautiful kasios) and shared some thoughts (included below also) so I decided to share some yself. (also I completely echo what she said about fan art; actually has anyone ever done kasio/cassiopeia cosplay?!) and actually almost 10 years ago since me and Liadh started working together on a bunch of different ideas including the one that seemed to have the most unbending attractive gravity. “if found, please return” came together v naturally pulling everything from the previous couple years of my life into it: old prototypes, feelings and new excitement for the future. I was talking to someone yesterday about where the creativity is in serendipity (like william burrough’s cutup technique) and I think it’s i…

- Annapurna announces a collector's edition containing 12 of their best games, but should you buy it? - 25 October 2023
Two months from today it'll be Christmas Day, which is a terrifying realisation. But merch company iam8bit are hoping they have you covered if there's a big Annapurna fan in your life. They've just announced the Annapurna Interactive Deluxe Limited Edition Collection for the Nintendo Switch, which is such a mouthful that the title alone feels like it justifies a $200 price tag. Yes, the Annapurna Interactive Deluxe Limited Edition Collection for the Nintendo Switch will set you back $200 — equivalent to roughly £165 if you live in the UK, and that's not counting some potentially hefty international shipping fees if you live outside of the USA. Alright, that's not actually out of the ordinary for Limited-Special-Collector's-Ultimate-Editions these days, but I suspect it still feels quite steep to most of us. I'm not here to be snarky; I love Annapurna's curation of excellent indie games,…
- End of 2022 Wrap Up - 20 December 2022
Well well well, the end of 2022 is finally here! It’s been a pretty wild year, but undoubtedly a good one. We have some little presents for you all, holiday gifts from us to say thank you to our wonderful team and to our fans. Everytime we see people talk about If Found, or draw us art, or write things about it it really means the absolute world. First, we have a new trailer! With voiceover from Llaura, and animation by Carla Lennon, an amazing 2d animator, based on drawings by our own Liadh Young. And the whole trailer was edited by Kat Foyle, who is themself a wonderful artist (more on that later). We really wanted a trailer that highlighted some different elements of If Found that hadn’t received as much focus in previous promotion! Obviously If Found is a game that hits pretty hard in places, but we’ve never wanted it to feel like a Sad Trans Game. Ending with something hopeful and…
- November 2022 News Roundup - 22 November 2022
Hey hey! I hope you’re all doing well. Lots has happened since the last time we posted, so let’s get started! An old concept of Kasio and Colum at the breakfast table. I still love the idea of Kasio drawing herself in multiple ways, sometimes detailed and beautiful, sometimes a scribbly mess. There's some real emotional truth there! Announcement Video A screenshot of the annoucement video with doodles by Liadh drawn on top. Our biggest news of the year came out at the end of July (as Eve and Bri were on a plane to Washington DC…). As part of the 2022 Annapurna Showcase we released a video about the studio and announcing that we’re working with them again! If you haven’t seen it already, you can check it out here. We’re keeping most of the info about the game itself under wraps for now, the better to surprise you later, but the video is a really fun look at the team itself, and a chance…
- Two Years Plus! - 27 July 2022
Hey all! Can’t believe If Found… has been out for two years already! We’re really proud of our little game and everything it’s achieved. Most of all we're super happy that folks are still discovering it and enjoying it! We’ve received so many wonderful reviews and kind words, AND fanart! Did not expect to see our characters created and recreated by others! So we can’t thank you all enough for loving this story as much as we do. :3 (An older drawing of Kasio looking eagerly at a piece of cake with a candle in it.) Valerie Dusk commission To celebrate we reached out to an amazing game maker, Valerie Dusk, who built us an really cool and unique commission: A 3D vignette inspired by the astronaut sections of If Found… You can explore it for yourself here. (A screenshot of the Valerie Dusk commission.) Smithsonian In other exciting news, If Found… is going to be in the Smithsonian! In litera…
- Happy new yearl! - 30 December 2021
If you’re celebrating the holidays or have time off, I hope you’re enjoying it! Right now this sale is the perfect time to get the game. One thing that really surprised me looking into who buys if found, is that a lot of people gift it to others, which is pretty rad. So, Dreamfeel is on hiatus over Christmas, but I just wanted to share a piece of If Found new year’s art by @birdf00d: Before we left the virtual office last week, we did a secret santa where you had to make a card for someone else on the team. Here’s Liadh’s drawing of Alex’s bossy n cute cat, Cagney: And here’s another one from Liadh, cos I love it: Last year was a really good year for Dreamfeel and I can’t wait to show you #dreamfeelnext, here’s the team all chatting about it. There are two more If Found surprises we’re hoping to share in Jan/Feb, so keep an eye out!! Take care! Llaura
- Patch notes - Update December 8th, PC build only - 8 December 2021
Hey everyone! We're putting out a little update to fix a few tiny things that had been on our wishlist for ages! None of them were ever game-breaking but we think adjusting them will make for a smoother playthrough. Here's a list of what we did: - More info on game controls and options on booting the game for the first time. - Added a controls screen to options menu - Both of the above indicate that the 'f' key can erase everything onscreen automatically - Faster load out of credits - Credits loads directly into the bonus scene - Bonus scene says 'thanks for drawing' at the very end It wasn't possible to do a mac build at the moment, but hopefully we'll get to do it next year. We might have another cool news post before the end of the year, but until then we hope you all had a good 2021, under the circumstances, and fingers crossed 2022 will be better again. Oh and before we go, we real…

- Dreamfeel Development Update - May 2021 Transcript - 1 June 2021
Hey! So, it's been a while since we've done an update on here... We've been quietly been working away in the background for much of the last 12 months but before moving forward, we wanted to reflect on 2020/early 2021 for Dreamfeel. These update videos are the beginning of an experiment by us to keep all of you informed of what we're doing and how things are progressing with our new project rather than the newsletters you might have become accustomed to receiving every now and then. We hope you enjoy it and let us know in the comments below or via our social media accounts (We're @dreamfeelx pretty much everywhere) Under this is a transcription of the full video, with some edits made to tidy it up, for anyone who's pining for the return of the newsletter or just find it easier to process and take in information that way. Hopefully we'll be back in just over 3 weeks with another update b…

- Lunar New Year Sale & the making of... Shans - 12 February 2021
If Found... is on sale for the lunar new year (happy new year!) so I thought it would be nice to do another behind the scenes look on a character! It's a good time to tell a friend to check it out! xD Shans was the second character ever written for If Found... For the longest time in the game they were called Mack! We actually explored a few different Indian names for them (e.g. Mansukh, Ansh) and Ishaan actually came from a friend, and incredible writer, Chandrika Narayanan-Mohan. As well as lots of other great insight and advice, she helped us name most of the member's of Shans' family, like Tara & Neel. We wanted names that fit worked from both an Indian and Irish perspective. Shans's design is the oldest and one of our favourites to compare finished pieces to! Here you can see one of the original concept images from the end of 2015/start of 2016 and a beautiful promo shot that Liadh…
- If Found… GOTY Edition: Patch notes - 11 December 2020
Beautiful fan art by https://www.instagram.com/sarasaratosita/ At the end of November we pushed a big patch online for the Steam version with a smaller update a couple of weeks later to fix some bugs, so I just want to update y’all with what we included: - The ending has been split into a more streamlined epilogue, called "This Books Belongs To", and a bonus scene after the credits, where players can explore the future of all the characters. - New art throughout the game, particularly in this bonus chapter. - Many chapters have received visual upgrades, and added interactivity. - We’ve added a key to auto-erase the screen. Press ‘f’. - Fixed a number of bugs, including a progression arrow not displaying in 4k resolution. (If you do still find yourself getting stuck, I recommend increasing the size of your eraser in settings, and trying the auto-erase with the 'f' key.) - We added a new…
- The making of... Kasio - 23 October 2020
One of our earliest concept sketches of Kasio alongside a finished piece! Kasio was the first character we wrote, and everything came from her. In a lot of ways Kasio changed the least of all the characters. We learnt more and more about her as we wrote... particularly when the story started focusing on who she was and who her family was. If Found... was always a story about her coming home. At first “home” was an invented island off the North West coast called “Inch”. Eventually Kasio’s home moved to the Achill Island you see in game, or… in County Mayo in real life. And specifically Dugort on Achill, between Keel & Keem. Kasio's first name never changed but her last name took a while to figure out! For a while she was Kasio Lavelle (Shans got that name after Kasio abandoned it, because it's a long-standing Achill name with an interesting backstory and a nice sound.) From early on Liad…
- Review Round Up & Patch Announce - 21 October 2020
It’s been nearly half a year since we released our game. We’ve been blown away by everyone’s kind words! Here are just a few of the write ups we’ve grown to cherish. “Sets a new standard for the visual novel.” - The Washington Post “What elevates “If Found...” to the status of a masterpiece is its interface and art design. For much of the game, the cursor on your mouse serves as an eraser which you use to scrub away scenes and text to uncover fresh examples of both. This technique, used by Impressionist painter Claude Monet, conveys how things acquire other resonances when viewed under contrasting conditions.” An essential game about letting go of the past. -Wired “If Found… a story that feels grounded in real wisdom about the loss that creates change, about the way finding yourself can mean letting a lot of other things go. If Found … knows how important it is to see yourself and to be…
- Annapurna Interactive's If Found arrives on Nintendo Switch next week - 14 October 2020
Apocalyptic coming-of-age and coming out visual novel If Found launches for Nintendo Switch next week, on 22nd October, courtesy of publisher Annapurna Interactive. It's the story of Kasio, a queer Irish trans woman who sits down to destroy her diary at the end of the world, seeking to erase her secrets before the universe does first. Dr Lloyd (Meadhbh) Houston previously examined If Found's key storytelling mechanic - the rubbing out of the diary using a literal eraser - in detail for Eurogamer: Read more
