• Show yourself! - 25 May 2021

  As of v1.3.018, it is now possible to communicate with your client visually, through your webcam or other camera device connected to your computer system. This feature is implemented in each Vrerience simulation - both current and future ones. Up until now, you were invisible to your client during their Vrerience simulations. With this update, you will be able to communicate with your client as you would during a normal conversation. Each simulation has a unique way of projecting you inside the virtual world. For instance, the client holds a hologram device as they walk the streets in the simulation against Fear of Open Spaces. In Speech Anxiety, you can be a part of the audience. In Fear of Flying, the client can see you on the monitor on the seat in front of them.

• A treatment for Agoraphobia is now available on Vrerience - 24 October 2020

  For many, it's quite an attractive city. For someone with agoraphobia, open streets, city squares or plazas can be challenging. Such places can give them the feeling that they're in a situation which is difficult to escape from. Agoraphobia comes in many forms, and the fear of open spaces is one well-known example. Several options of our latest simulation are based on both research and the way our own clients experience their fears and what could help them practice. After proper testing under the right conditions, we have developed this VR-simulation. We have included the following options, each of which can alter the way one can experience the simulation. • Menu Overhaul - 30 August 2020

  We would again like to thank you for the feedback we've received. Our users have offered us a great amount of inspiration to improve our program. We have completely overhauled all of our Vrerience menus. They are more consistent in size, have slight transparency, look more professional, and are better adjusted to the points of focus in every simulation.

• VR EMDR - 18 May 2020

  An EMDR program is now available in our library! A person who experienced a traumatic or otherwise shocking experience, can find it difficult to process this on their own. This can lead to recurring and stubborn psychological complaints. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of therapy that offers the eyes and/or ears of the client rhythmic visual and/or auditory stimuli, switching between left and right. The purpose is to reopen communication between different parts of the brain, making it more accessible to process the experience. The advantages to do this in VR, are that the visual stimulus always remains centered in view, distractions from the client’s physical environment are minimized, there is a variety of different pendula, sounds, movement speeds and directions for the therapist to choose from. • A request for caution during the Coronavirus outbreak - 28 March 2020

  First of all I'd like to give our gratitude to everyone using Vrerience to treat their clients. It's great to know that many people out there have an opportunity to overcome their problems through this new method. Undoubtedly, you are aware of the current Coronavirus outbreak. In VRT, we often have multiple clients using the same VR headset. Although it's always recommended to clean a headset after each individual session, we still want to emphasize extra caution during these times. You could, for example, consider using a disinfecting spray. You could also consider pausing VRT altogether. Keep in mind that the virus will survive on surfaces for up to 72 hours, including VR headsets. We at Malintis personally decided to close our own practice entirely for the time being, and only continue our non-VRT therapy sessions over Skype.
