  2025 was a year of change for us. We tried new sales strategies, especially in Summer Sale and Retail Halloween, that failed spectacularly while also giving us the data that we needed to move forward. We also noticed that our player base was not exactly growing in the ways it had even during the COVID lockdowns. We also got hit ridiculously hard by refund scams. 2026 - 2027 will focus on less sales, less games on sale per sale, and less games being produced (which partially is due to the Shakespeare Saga closing). 2019-2021's production level was a direct reaction to external factors, 2023-2024 was a reaction to external factors, and now we finally have time to slow down.... and financially react to 2025. Dino Shakespeare 3 was meant to be a fun cool-down project that is now swept up in the dual currents of Paper Shakespeare 3 and Army of Tentacles' 10th Anniversary Edition. The latter…

We're trying a bit of a different format with this game, as it is no longer a Dating Sim, but a straight narrative with a stronger emphasis on reactivity and newer mechanics! It's also the first of a trilogy that actually deals with the War of the Roses! If you're going to end your Shakespeare Saga, you can do a lot worse than the Henriad, right?   So, the big project that we have planned - and started - for next year quickly revealed itself to be physically impossible to pay for, even for a 2027 title. So we pivoted. 2026 is our 10th year in existence, and as such, we have at least one 10th Anniversary game planned: Army of Tentacles. Now, this would essentially be a DLC-sized and priced upgraded version of AoT 1. New quests, an entirely new Army Invasion system, new party member skills and a much more robost Word Battle system. But that will mostly be an October-ish game, and pre-Summer Sale will belong to: Paper Shakespeare 3. Not a To Date Or Not To Date, because this time, we're focusing more of a quest system and less dating sim. This will be the first game in our War of the Roses trilogy, which will ultimately end our mad quest to adapt every Shakespeare play into a video game. It's going to be our (minus the two collections) 50th game! As far as Dinosaur Shakespeare 3 goes, that chonky boi may take a backseat so we can focus on a 10th Anniversary game for early 2026. If we get around to getting it ready before New Year's 2025, that'd be cool, but for the next month, our focus is gonna be on getting *this other thing* at least on its feet.
