- Original Soundtrack is Here! 🔊 - 1 May 2026
Hello explorers! Here we are, one month after our release, and the original soundtrack is finally released. Rodrigo Passos, our composer and sound designer, has put a lot of effort into it, and we can see how it paid off in the reviews and comments about Raider Kid and the Ruby Chest. He learned how to work with a music tracker specifically for this game. You can see for yourselves the difference between the current soundtrack and the one we had before using a tracker in the video below.Quite different, huh? Subscribing to the Game Boy sound limitations was key to achieve the nostalgic experience we were aiming for. As Passos himself put it in his Bandcamp page:"Every song here carries a piece of how much I’ve learned about making chiptune and about myself."You can support his work by purchasing the Original Soundtrack here on Steam, or on any other platform of your preference. For those…
- Patch [1.0.3] - Rock polish - 28 April 2026
Hi there, explorers! Last week we had to roll back a patch with many features people were expecting, such as the Dowsing Pendulum reacting to unvisited rooms. It also had important fixes related to uncapped framerates and Steam achievements. Over the past weekend we tested the patch thoroughly, and we also sneaked in some adjustments that should improve the overall experience. Below is the full list of features and fixes for both 1.0.2 and 1.0.3 🛠️ Major Bug Fixes High Framerate Physics: Fixed a severe physics engine instability bug caused by uncapped framerates on powerful PCs. This happened when vsync was disabled at the driver level. Platform clipping: Fixed a bug that made Alex clip platforms when walking over them. Alchemist Encounter: Fixed a game-freezing bug triggered when entering the cistern alchemist boss fight after flooding the ruins (wait, is this even possible?). Sticker…

This happened when vsync was disabled at the driver level. Alchemist Encounter: Fixed a game-freezing bug triggered when entering the cistern alchemist boss fight after flooding the ruins (wait, is this even possible?). - One week in! - 8 April 2026

It even was the first microvania to make it to the A-tier in MetroidvaniaGuru's Tier List 🤯🤯🤯MetroidvaniaGuru (9.5/10) - "Its exploration is far more ambitious than you would expect from a microvania."GameBlast (8/10) - "The best thing is how tight the exploration loop is. It flows intuitively while still demanding to keep eyes open for secret p…

LAUNCH DAY STREAM!!!!
- Raider Kid is here! - 31 March 2026
Hello explorers! What a wild, hectic week it’s been since the launch date announcement! We’re officially exhausted, but seeing the first streamers explore the world we've created is already making it feel like it was all worth it, and today, we finally get to type the words we’ve been dreaming of since 2018:✨🥦🍩THE GAME IS OUT! 🍩🥦✨As you must know by now, we're a group of hobbyist devs from Brazil who worked on this game sporadically, and mostly asynchronously, in our free time. Having Raider Kid and the Ruby Chest finally come together as a fully playable adventure that we can share with the world feels like the cathartic end of a long chapter, that started as a notebook sketch in 2012!To make this launch the best it can be, we’ve spent the last week listening to your feedback and applying some "final, FINAL" tweaks. If you’ve been watching pre-release streams, you might even notice…
- Release Date Announcement! - 25 March 2026
Hello explorers! We're alive! It has been a long journey since our last update. If you’ve been following us since our first posts, you know that Raider Kid has been in the works for almost a decade now (or even more if you count the original Processing version). Some of us moved countries, some did that twice, some had children, some struggled with mental health, and all of us balanced all that with our day jobs, all while returning to this project time and again. At some point, it looked like it was never going to happen, but today, we finally have the news we’ve been waiting a long time to share:RAIDER KID IS LAUNCHING ON THE 31ST OF MARCH!Thanks to all the fans who kept believing in us even through every hiatus, we decided to make a final effort throughout February and March to finish the game once and for all. It has been a hectic month - among the most intense of my life, but we are…
- Beta is ready! - 21 January 2023
Happy new year, explorers! We are still steady with the development of Raider Kid and the Ruby Chest, having worked on it every Saturday last year despite being a busy period of our lives. 2022 had struggles and losses, but also overcoming and reunions. I myself moved and changed jobs twice 🥵 - one being to another continent - while Lumi and Fabio moved from Europe back to Brazil. Despite this, we kept a consistent routine of working on the game every Saturday. We didn't meet the goal of releasing the game in 2022, but we just finished the Beta 🎉 which we want to start testing later this month (read this post until the end to see how you can become a tester). We'll use the feedback to make final fixes and adjustments. After that, we'll implement achievements and credits, and the game will finally be ready to be released ❤️ Without further ado, what we made last year: Last boss fight a…
