  • Sharpshooter Plus 2.1.2 update released - 24 November 2024

Sharpshooter Plus Steam/Windows 2.1.2 has been released as of 11/24/2024. The following change was made in this version: - The "Curious" Achievement was fixed. As you may know, Sharpshooter Plus can be played using a controller, mouse, or touchscreen. It's a different experience on all 3, so naturally, I want as many players as possible to try as many of them as possible. It was that mindset that caused me to add the "Curious" Achievement in the first place. Originally, the requirement to unlock it was to complete a game using ALL three control methods. But after I'd already added and tested the Achievement, I realized that not everyone owns a touchscreen, and that to put a $100+ paywall on a sub-$5 game seemed kind of wrong. So I decided to relax the requirement to "2 out of 3." Unfortunately, while I'd changed the Achievement's description to reflect that change, I hadn't actually mad…

  • Sharpshooter Plus 2.1 update released - 17 August 2023

Sharpshooter Plus Steam/Unified 2.1 has been released as of 8/16/2023. The following changes were made in this version: - You won't hear the difference, but the way music works was redone. The end result of this is that the finished game no longer uses WMA-format music, which allows it to run on Steam Deck. If you'd tried to run Sharpshooter Plus on Steam Deck before, it would have crashed, but now it plays perfectly! Enjoy. - Some embarrassing gameplay bugs were fixed that had affected playing on controller: 1) After making a mistake in "The Counting Game," the targets were not cleared properly, so the game wouldn't play correctly from that point onward. 2) Some targets in "Shrinking Square" were impossible to hit. These bugs were only present when playing on controller; mouse and touch worked fine. But the truly embarrassing bit is that these bugs had existed since the Steam version c…

  • Sharpshooter Plus 2.0.3 update released - 11 August 2022

Sharpshooter Plus Steam/Unified 2.0.3 has been released as of 8/11/2022. The following change was made in this version: - X Mode added. Press the "X" key on the main menu 8 times to enable it. Inspired by a 2-year-old, "X Mode" simply switches things up: you are now required to shoot the targets marked with Xs, and avoid the normal targets. Ultimately, there are no changes to the gameplay itself, but if you like seeing a big X and hearing a buzzing sound every time you hit a target, X Mode is for you! Now, as that 2-year-old said, "get an X score!"

  • Sharpshooter Plus 2.0.2 update released - 20 September 2020

Sharpshooter Plus Steam/Unified 2.0.2 has been released as of 9/19/2020. The following changes were made in this version: - If you were playing on a screen that was very wide, or very tall (portrait mode), the game was not handling resolution properly, and targets could be rendered too large/small, affecting gameplay and scoring. This has been fixed. - In touch mode, it was previously possible to touch the "doors" obscuring the outer edges of the play area; when doing so, you could hit targets located behind them. This has been fixed. (The above bugs could have been exploited to obtain higher scores, but after looking at the current leaderboards, I've decided not to clear them.) - Bursts that appear when shooting targets were rendered too large if using the "Med" graphic detail setting introduced in version 2.0.1. This has been fixed. - "Controller 1: Enter your initials!" no longer app…

  • Sharpshooter Plus 2.0.1 update released - 19 March 2020

Sharpshooter Plus Steam/Unified 2.0.1 has been released as of 3/17/2020. The following changes were made in this version: - Added a detail setting in Graphic Options; lower the detail if you've got an older computer, integrated video, etc. and performance is less than optimal. The default setting is "auto," which uses lower-detail graphics if your display resolution is 800p or less, and medium-detail graphics if your resolution is above 800p but does not exceed 1080p. (The previous version lacked the medium-detail setting, and "auto" was the ONLY behavior.) - Some of the lower-detail target graphics previously had a purple tint around them. This has been fixed. - The game now handles pausing better when the Steam Overlay is invoked. - Changed a few text strings.

  • Game release delayed to 2/29/2020 - 25 February 2020

Due to bugs found during late testing, as well as the need to make some game balance changes, and utter insanity at my job cutting down on the amount of time I've had to work on it, I am forced to delay the release of Sharpshooter Plus three days, to February 29th. I hope that you'll continue to look forward to playing it. It isn't easy to develop and release games by myself, in my spare time, when I've also got a young family. And of course, finishing is the hardest part. While this may just be a re-release of a previously-released game, I would never be content with a straight port; I needed to add more modes, fine-tune everything, and obsess over every last detail, because that's the sort of developer I am. And I'll continue obsessing over my games for as long as anyone is interested in playing them! So...thank you for supporting yyrGames. =) EDIT: Actually, it's coming a bit sooner…

  • Sharpshooter Plus Manual/FAQ - 25 February 2020

Buy and download the game here Version History 2.1 - Released 8/16/2023. The following changes were made in this version: - The way music works was changed; the changes now allow the game to run on Steam Deck, rather than crash on startup. - Some embarrassing, long-standing gameplay bugs were fixed that had affected the minigames "The Counting Game" and "Shrinking Square" when using a controller to play. Mouse and touch gameplay was not changed. These bugs were not exploitable for score (they hurt rather than helped), so the leaderboards were left alone. 2.0.3 - Released 8/11/2022. The following change was made in this version: - X Mode added. Press the "X" key on the main menu 8 times to enable it. This silly mode, inspired by my daughter when she was 2, swaps the normal targets with "X" targets. So now you're SUPPOSED to shoot the "X" targets, and AVOID the normal ones. Have fun! 2.0.…
