You can now purchase GP in game! Click on the GP store button and a new in game UI will show you the GP purchase options.The options will show your local currency if Steam supports it and inline with Steam's suggested regional pricing. This means countries in low economic areas will see a discount on GP purchases to offset their relative income levels. - GAME UPDATE - Steam Auth now in game! No more username & password logins. - 4 June 2026
Steam Auth is now in game! No more entering your username and password to play. This also means no more having to signup to the forum. If you have an existing account, you will need to do a one time account link after you launch the game. Simply press the link button instead of the create account button and you will be able to login with your existing account and link it. - Content rework and new cars and tracks! - 5 April 2026
Big content rework now live in game! Multiple fixes to cars and maps courtesy of Facepalm. I have also reworked the pack files that contain all the game's files. This has lead to a reduction in size from ~10GB down to 3.3GB! Lots of new cars added to the game. Right now you can buy the Lexon Blade 1993 via the in game shop.This is a classic street race car and has up to stage 5 performance upgrades. Unlockable at level 14. More cars will be released over the coming few days and weeks! We have a lot to release....There have been a few bug fixes as well. - SUMO RETURNS - 1 April 2026
The highly anticipated game mode has been ported to Project Torque and is now available to play in game!4 maps are available right now including Python Creek, Iceberg, Offshore Oil Platform and Johannesburg Tower.It is just the core Sumo gameplay for now. Items maybe returning soon depending on feedback from users. We are working on lowering the damage and making repair not ghost mode. Points are also being worked on along with higher pay out of XP and RP. Hello everyone, RX here. It's been a while since I've spoken at length about what goes on behind the scenes, so today I'd like to take a moment and do exactly that with all of you. I'm very aware of the fact that things have been slow regarding the game, and this is what I want to discuss with all of you. Things have been much quieter than normal, and that's for good reason. Something that is important to remember is that Project Torque is a privately-run venture managed by a group of volunteers with preexisting obligations and/or day jobs, meaning time available to many of us is limited. However, that is not to say that things have been at a standstill behind the scenes. We have moved server and changed the backend settings in the game telling the client how to connect to the server. For this reason we have pushed out an update. Build 5034 is now live on Steam and is required to connect to the game. Double XP for the next 24 hours. Enjoy!

- Update Build 5030 - More colours, Content Creator and 3 new cars! - 20 June 2020
Build 5030 focuses on adding more car colour options to the game. To do this, we have split car paints out of the Styling tab in the shop and garage into its own tab, leaving the rest of styling in its tab. This means you now have access to the original factory colours as well as 7 new tabs worth of colours. The special colours tab will be full of hand-picked colours specific to that car.
