Hello, soldiers! It's been a while! We noticed that the last update was in October 2020, and we had already been working on a new update back in November that year. So we are releasing it now: Level editor visuals updated. Editor quality of life updates. Added RIGHT CLICK to exit editor item picker. New settings added under options menu. Helpful bots can now die in combat. Player's tank can be destroyed in combat. Enemy item drops tweaked. Weapon damage changed to min-max range instead of set value every time. Tank hit box tweaked to be smaller for better movement. Green enemies now run faster with visual cue added. Happy hunting! -Harri J.

Hello, soldiers! We have a long-awaited update for the game, fixing the compatibility issues and adding new improvements to the gameplay. We have especially tackled the reported issue of antivirus software falsely tagging our game as a trojan or malware. These problems should now be fixed. Fixed online high score bug. Only player kills now add to the score, instead of having score increased from all the turret and AI soldier kills. Level editor has received a massive overhaul. All new maps for the Survival game mode. Additional Gauntlet Maps added, which you can replace the existing survival maps with. Updated level tiles in the editor, and heaps of new tiles added. Interior levels added into the editor and into playable maps. Highlighted hits for the explosive barrels when they get shot. Added lights on the pickups, so now they can be seen better in the dark. Hello, soldiers! This week we have a significant new update, with both visual and gameplay tweaks. One of the biggest updates include adding tank vehicles, fellow soldiers and automatic turrets into the mix. Many elements of the user interface have also gotten a face lift and the main menu has been completely re-hauled. Hello, soldiers! Today we have a patch which features lots of gameplay and quality of life improvements. Ben Hull of Alien Seed Games has worked hard with the programming side, and we've been listening to player feedback. Hello there! This time we have a major update for all you soldiers. We have updated the game to fully support DirectX 11, and this version has been compiled with a newer version of the game development software we're using. Here is the fixlist! Bullet and projectile speeds have been revised. Re-done the effects on the flamethrower. Added burning effect for the enemies. Added mouse wheel for weapon changing. Added HUD icons to better highlight which weapon is selected. Added a Wave pause menu, which tells you your current score and lets you continue or return to menu. Hello soldiers! It has come time to move out of Early access, as we have now finished most of the features that we had in mind for the game. The year 2019 also is coming to a close, and Christmas is at the doorstep, and we promised full version out by this year's end. We will still be updating and supporting the game with new features, if there is demand for it. After the holidays we are focusing our energy on new projects. All new Survival maps added. Added a level selection menu to the main menu. Fix for some of the weapon effects. Missing Steam Achievements added. Fixed some of the achievements that were not working correctly. Hello there! We have a new update again, this time tweaking things that were already added in the last update. We have streamlined the level editor's UI somewhat, making it more user friendly. Flashlight effects improved. Z layer positioning improved. Flamethrower and plasma rifle effects tweaked. Level Editor user interface revised. Main menu graphics improved. GRM video intro optimized. Hello soldiers! It's been a long wait, and we are finally rolling out the completely re-built version of Area 51 Defense on Steam. There's heaps of new features, such as whole new arsenal of weapons, new map, and an in-built map editor. The editor is still in an experimental stage, so bugs are to be expected. We can't wait to hear some community feedback on these all new and shiny things in the game. Completely rebuilt game from the ground up. Added eight new weapons. New and improved enemy AI. Fresh special effects. In-built level editor. All new power-ups. We have also completely updated the look of the game on Steam store and on the library. Hello, soldiers! This time we have a small update, and we're currently preparing a full overhaul of the game. This is probably the last update done with old code base, used since our launch in September. The next bigger update of our game will feature a whole heap of new features, and a game built on different base system. Small crash issues Steam Leaderboard issues fixed. Minor UI fix. - Collaboration with Alien Seed Games - 13 November 2019
Hello there! It's been a while since our last update, so we decided to bring you up to speed. We have recently partnered up with Alien Seed Games to update and enhance the Area 51 Defense. We are doing a complete rehaul of the project, and throwing away all the previous code. The graphics will remain pretty much the same, but there will be significant updates to the visuals. The game will be much less comedic "meme game" after this overhaul, and more like a complete survival shooter. The next update will feature at least seven new weapons and player animations for them, plus a level editor for the game. Hello, soldiers! We have finally gotten into the Spook season with this new update! Third map; Halloween Graveyard added. Commander Damson's briefing added. Horde Bomb power-up added. Dweebs have now been changed into virus mutants. Player bleeds when damaged. Fix for the hi-score screen. Fix for some ingame sound effects. Stability fixes. Howdy! We have finally released 'Area 51 Defense' on GooglePlay store! The game has ads as a monetization model, but that means it's completely free to download and play. We have tried to make the game as enjoyable as possible on the mobile platform, but also had to make a few cuts to the features. We feel that the mobile version still does retain the feeling and core gameplay of the PC version, and that it's enjoyable on its own. Hello, soldiers! This time we have a bigger update for you to chew through. The battlefield will get larger with a new zone and bigger resolutions. New big monster enemy added Wave complete screen revised. Full HD - 1920 x 1080 resolution added. 4K - 3840 x 2160 resolution added. New survival map added. Airstrike powerup revised. Performance issues fixed. The big monsters will appear from wave 5 forward, and every wave has something special. The second introduces airstrikes, third has missile power-ups and fourth has the extra fast enemies. Hello there! Another week down and here is the newest update. Today is the day that people are raiding or tryin to raid Area 51. So go join the fight and play our game! Extra fast dweeb variety added. A fix for the Day/Night cycle. Missile power-up added. Screenshake adjusted because of community feedback. Main menu volume can be adjusted by dragging the mouse. Random item placement adjusted. Minor fixes for the game UI. Missile power-up can be picked from Wave 3 forward, and the faster dweebs appear from Wave 4 onward. Remember: A wise player will use as much power-ups as they can, but a special achievement awaits those who can play the game without any help. That's it for this week, stay tuned for more! Hello there! We have just released the first update for our new game. It has few smaller fixes, while we work on adding bigger stuff. Here's the fixlist: Projectiles thrown by the dweebs now stop after a certain time. Objects thrown by dweebs also stop on obstacles. Night wave health nerfed. A fix for the graphical Z-positioning for the enemies. Weekend waves health nerfed. Weekend wave now limited to Saturday and Sunday. New music tracks for the night wave. Hello there! We've been figuring out how to port the game on Android, and we've managed to export the first playable build of it.
