The rumors are true! The Binding of Isaac is today's Fortnite crossover!!What does that mean???It means Isaac is now Back Bling! Edmund McMillen and Tyler Glaiel's funky cat breeder Mewgenics has meandered back into the kitchen and emitted the first in a series of informative meows that'll build up to its release next year. McMillen has revealed that "all the big important bits" are now sorted, and to celebrate, has released a 50 minute-long video playthrough. Mewgenics has been in development for a while, but efforts to finally have it emerge from the carrier have really begun to click into place this year. There have been a couple of trailers and the decision to push the release date back to February 10th, 2026, allowing Binding of Isaac developer McMillen and Glaiel more time to polish their strange fur baby. Edmund McMillen, the developer behind The Binding of Isaac and co-creator of Super Meat Boy, has issued a statement responding to claims that a website he hosted contained user posts linking to illegal online material, including child pornography. A document from an anonymous user containing a number of allegations has recently been shared among the Binding of Isaac community. It claims that, by accessing an archived version of the website, it is possible to find examples of posts shared on the forums wherein users provided links to other sites, some of which allegedly contained child pornography. Discontinued in the early '00s, McMillen says that the "old website" did not contain any illegal material or any links to illegal material. I've been playing a lot of excellent roguelikes in 2024. Game of the Year nominee Balatro has taken over my life, while the launch of Hades 2 and the last update for Dead Cells have kept me coming back as well. Between all of these games, though, I've been waiting for The Binding of Isaac to debut its online co-op update, and I'm more than happy to report that it's here. The Binding of Isaac 's co-op alpha test has been taken permanently offline ahead of a full release for the online mode, because someone was datamining the roguelike game and "ruining it for everyone else." Anyone who owns Repentance on Windows or Steam can join after following a few short steps. The Binding of Isaac developer recommends backing up your saves, in case any bugs in the beta cause a loss of progress. While a full release for the new features is yet to be announced, the multiplayer functions will be available for two weeks out of each month. The final DLC for roguelike game The Binding of Isaac has been given a solid release date. The Binding of Isaac: Repentance will grace Steam on March 31, 2021. The date was revealed in a fancy new trailer full of nods to the history of the indie game , setting us up for one last horrifying attempt at helping Isaac escape from the clutches of his murderous mother. Over 130 items, 100 enemies, 25 bosses, and 5,000 new rooms are included in the mammoth sequel. Creator Edmund McMillen had previously hoped the team would manage to get the game out before the end of 2020 , but that wasn't to be - given, well, everything about that year, it's kind of remarkable the delay was only three months. The Binding of Isaac : Repentance finally has a Steam page, indicating that the final update for the venerable roguelike is at last nearly ready to launch. It's (tentatively) due to launch by the end of the year, and while 2020 won't be the first time the devs have been confident in an ' end of the year ' launch, it looks like the end is at last in sight. Repentance has expanded in scope to the point where it's a "sequel-sized expansion", according to Binding of Isaac creator Edmund McMillen. According to a new blog post , the DLC is "over 90% done", and the Steam page lists a release target of December 31, 2020. Are you ready for one last dive into The Binding Of Isaac: Rebirth 's filthy basements? The upcoming (and supposedly final) Repentance expansion is adding some fun new surprises, including the horribly wet and gooey sewers of Dross, one of several new areas showcased last night in a developer Twitch stream, which you can watch below. There's a lot of tiny little new bits of polish, like animated bomb fuses, and some game-changing stuff on the way like True Co-op mode, allowing for two Isaacs to work together, each building up their own set of weird mutations and items. Much of Repentance's content is coming direct from the excellent Antibirth , a fan-made expansion mod. For Repentance, Nicalis are working with the Antibirth team (as confirmed by lead developer Edmund McMillen ) to make the mod official, and add a few new goodies along the way.
