This update went live a while ago, but I neglected to announce the changes. Just a couple of small fixes in this one: Added a fix for a rare graphics rendering bug which could cause the game to freeze at random moments. Fixed a bug which could cause the game to soft-lock during the poisoning scene.

- Version 1.0 (Early Access) - 17 February 2020
Six new achievements! Guilty Witness, Voyeur, Expert Thief, Photographer, Sadist and Masochist. The "suicide" and "unsolved" endings have been swapped around. (Basically the feeling was that the suicide ending is quite hard to achieve and was rather downbeat, whereas the unsolved ending is comparatively easy to reach and feels more positive. This way round seems to make more sense.) Fixed a few typos in the dialogue. Since The Deed series is fairly popular among Chinese speakers, we're currently working on a Chinese translation which we'd like to implement before we leave Early Access. This will delay the full release for a while longer. If you've been waiting for the finished English-language version of the game before playing, version 1.0 should be fairly complete and final. I will continue to fix any bugs or issues that get reported.
- Version 0.6 (Early Access) - 16 January 2020
This one took a little longer than I had planned, but it is the biggest update the game has had so far. If everything goes well, there will probably be just one more update before the game leaves Early Access. (Of course, I will continue to update the game after that if any further issues come up.) Implemented some basic animations for when the player is interacting with the environment or picking up objects. Added a few extra variable checks to hopefully fix the occasional issues with NPC movements, characters being duplicated or being in the wrong places at the wrong time. It should no longer be possible for the murder to remain "unsolved" if there was a witness to the crime. Either the player or the witness will always be found guilty. - Version 0.5 (Early Access) - 9 December 2019
The size of the game installation has been reduced to around 420MB. Fixed a bug where Frank's corpse would sometimes magically disappear if you shot him in the parlour. Fixed a rare bug where Aspasia would be invisible when moving upstairs from the salon. There is a new way to increase the suspicion of Frank having committed suicide. Fixed a couple of errors during the interrogation when questions to Giovanni Santi about Mistress Chevalier, or questions about Giovanni to Atma, would be skipped or incorrectly described. Sometimes the inspector would incorrectly state that certain items were missing from the safe, which has now been corrected. A couple of small aesthetic tweaks and additions. - Version 0.3 (Early Access) - 17 November 2019
Version 0.3 of the game is now live! This contains a few bug fixes. A problem with the Giovanni Santi ending has been resolved. You can now see the proper epilogue and earn "The Artist" achievement if you manage to frame him successfully. The "Bloodbath" achievement also wasn't unlocking at the appropriate time. All achievements should now be working correctly. One of the tiles in the staircase leading from the salon to the middle floor was impassable, which has now been fixed. Interacting with Marie Dupont while using the mouse was a bit tricky sometimes, so her hit box has been extended. During the interrogation, there was a bug which would sometimes cause the inspector to skip your conversation with Atma, which has now been fixed. Please let us know if you experience any other issues! There is a special "Early Access" sub-forum in the community hub where you can report any problems.
- The Deed II, Preview #4: "When the Deed is Done" - 6 November 2019
This will probably be the final one of these previews, as we're planning to release the game into Early Access fairly soon. None of the other Pilgrim Adventures games have ever used Early Access, but due to the complexity of The Deed II, I feel that it could very helpful to involve a number of players in the final stages of the game's development. So if you want to be a part of that process, you can - or if you'd rather just play the finished product then you can wait a short while for the full release. Meanwhile, onto the preview! Perhaps the most intense and engaging part of any Deed game takes place after the murder has been committed and you're being interrogated by the inspector. With The Deed II set to be released later on this year, I thought it would be nice to whet your appetites in the meantime by posting a few previews of different aspects of the game. This first one will focus on some of the research behind the setting of the game – a Parisian brothel during the interwar years. This was an era of great change for the city of love, and for French society in general. Class divisions were slowly eroding, for various reasons.
