- Indie dev behind beloved boomerang shooter shuts down because 'we are out of money' - 9 October 2023
The New York-based indie studio Dang is closing after releasing only one game, but what a game. The hyper-fast and movement-focused Boomerang X released in 2021 and was notable among other things for supporting an experimental type of gyro controller, the Flick Stick, as well as mouse-and-keyboard, so that players could whizz its deadly shuriken-boomerang around in the fanciest of patterns. The game sits with around 800 " Overwhelmingly Positive " reviews on Steam though, judging by this announcement, that sadly didn't translate to sales... Read more.

Hey, Boomerangers! We have some spicy, spicy news for you - as you already know, we've been hard at work putting together a new map with an endless wave mode. The work is done, and you can hurl yourself around and battle a never-ending onslaught of old faces and enhanced enemies in the mysterious and new RED GARDEN map, a place that feels different from the worlds you've crossed before. Within the Endless Run Mode lie a variety of categories, changing your shield supply and what powers ups you have access to. Depending on your choice of these categories, you can make the game more challenging, more difficult, or just change the flavor of your run. - Boomerang X Steam Trading Cards are Live - 26 August 2021
Hi everyone! Per popular demand, and honestly, because we wanted to do it since day one, we've updated Boomerang X to support Steam Community Assets. From now on, all Boomerang X players are eligible to receive and collect a set of 8 Steam trading cards and unlock five different badges, three profile backgrounds, and five fancy emoticons. How to collect Steam Trading Cards? Just play the game. It's that simple. Up to half of the card set is dropped through gameplay. You can get the rest of the set by trading with other players on the Community Market. How to craft a badge? Once you've collected a full set of cards, you can craft them into a game badge. Craft your badges by accessing the Badges tab on your Steam profile. There are five levels of the Regular badge to craft and one level of the Foil badge.
