- Vote for NIRA in the Steam Awards! - 24 November 2021
Hi adventurers! Nira has had quite the journey from Early Access through its official launch and we're so grateful for the support we've received and the new friends we've made along the way.🤗 Today marks the start of voting for The Steam Awards and we're asking you for a vote to help nominate Nira as a great game to "Sit Back and Relax" with! The Top 5 picks for each category will then be available for the final voting round, and we'd be thrilled to see Nira make it that far. Also, if you hadn't had the chance to pick up Nira yet, you'll be happy to know that the game is available for a discount during the Steam Autumn Sale! Thanks, everyone! Baseline Games

- Version 0.02.09 - Significant performance boost - 9 August 2021
Hi everyone! I've been quiet for a while but haven't been sitting around. As some of you might know Nira is coming to Switch, which required some performance issues to be solved. To get the game running on Switch I've rewritten parts of the world generator to spread the loading of chunks much more evenly than before. This resulted not only in a huge performance boost, but also caused the overall game to run much more stable and smooth when moving around. Beta v0.02.09 Date: 09-08-2021 -Significantly increased performance with new map generator -Added fades to respawn sequence -Added last death icon to compass -Added a reload prompt when magazine is empty -Changed weapons to be reloaded when collecting them from chest in dungeons -Fixed a bug where sharks wouldn't attack properly -Fixed a bug where pop sound would play double during crafting -Fixed a bug where tutorials wouldn't play -Fi…

- Version 0.02.07 - Improving Menu / UI FLow - 29 May 2021
Hey everyone! Today I'm pushing a patch with a ton of improvements to the flow and intuitiveness of the UI and menus. This might not sound very interesting but I've found that it significantly improves your player experience if you don't have to work with fiddly frustrating menus, and it leaves more time for the fun stuff. I've been struggling with UI and menu flow for as long as I can remember, but Graffiti Games really came to the rescue to help me out with this, so big shoutout to them! Beta v0.02.07 Date: 29-05-2021 -Added functionality to click inventory slots to select items -Added a highlight to selected inventory space (toolbar, inventory or chest) -Added "Press X to change inventory selection" text -Added "Hold F to take all" text when opening chests -Added functionality to move items from expanded inventory to chests -Added numbers to toolbar to reference hotkeys -Added a high…

- Final Release is in sight! - 18 January 2021
Hi everyone! I've been quiet for a while, but haven't been slacking! In the past months I've been working together with a new partner to improve the game and prepare for final release. More info about this partnership will be announcent next week, but for now I'd like to share a pre-final build of Nira. Outside of localization and proper testing, this will be the full release version of Nira. To access this new patch, you need to select the 'final' branch. You can activate this branch by right clicking Nira from your library, selecting the Beta's tab and selecting the Final branch from there. The final version of Nira should then start downloading! The final version of the game includes an intro cutscene and adds more backstory to the game. It should make objectives more clear and give better guidance to new players, but it also has an ending! I hope this will make the entire experience…

- Patch Notes for v0.02.02 - 25 October 2020
This update brings the game fully to GameMaker 2.3. This was quite a challenge as a ton of code broke in different places of the game all at once, and figuring out exactly where and why took a lot of time. Now that the full transfer is done I'm not planning on updating to any new engine versions soon, so this should improve update speed. With this update, the Totem can not be broken anymore by hand. Instead you can now upgrade the totem you start with. This was done in prepartion for full release, where the Totem will play a bigger role. A Totem Destroyer item was added to make sure you can still destroy the Totem if you really want to move to another location. Besides the Totem, a couple of cool new things where added such as birds, and snow, which I'm really happy with and I hope you guys will enjoy as well. Lastly, a couple more of the last remaining big bugs have been fixed. The one…
- Patch Notes for v0.02.01 - 30 August 2020
This patch contains a ton of bug fixes that were long overdue. The most important bug fix is one that caused boats or tamed animals to disappear over time. I've attempted to fix this bug for about 10 times before, but never managed to find the cause of the issue. This time I found it was directly related to the autosaving feature and decide to rewrite a big part of the saving feature. I've spent a full weekend testing the new saving system and did not encounter a single issue, so I hope it works as it should now! The other bugs that were fixed in this patched were caused by the engine upgrade. Moving to GameMaker Studio 2.3 was essential to maintain updates for the coming time, but sadly also caused quite some parts of the code to break. This patch should fix the majority of issues though! If you find any issues with the current patch, please do report them! There's a button in the menu…

For testing purposes this version is available on the Beta branch first and will come to the default branch at a later time.
