- Steam login crash hotfix - 15 January 2023
A patch has been aplied to a bug that caused Aurum to crash when it started without Steam running and crashed when Steam was launched.
- Aurum standalone support + content encryption - 30 March 2022
I did start the Aurum project here on Steam as it helps greatly with built in community, workshop and homepage. The downside is unforutnatelly is the necessary connection with the running Steam app. Therefore I have finally implemented, although admittedly a bit late, the first approach, via a weekly with-steam-refresh. You have to start Steam at least once every weak to refresh. If you want to close steam after both started, you can add a button to your GUI with: "powershell stop-process -name steam" (without quotes) to exit steam. Second overdue feature was user content encryption, to ensure art is not being distributed openly. All user content is now in an unreadable file format. If you are interested in desktop composition, drop a question at the forums and or give it a try!
- Steamless Aurum! + encryption - 25 January 2022
I wasn't able to create a new update for some time but here it comes. It will stay in beta for this week and be pushed over to public next week. It's quite an important change actually, you can now use Aurum without having to run steam simultaniously. You have to start it next to Aurum at least once a week to refresh. Note there might be a better solution in future. If you want to close steam after both started, you can add a button to your GUI with: "powershell stop-process -name steam" (without quotes) to kill steam. Also Aurum now got user content encryption, to ensure art is not being distributed openly. Hope you like it, I created Aurum to be able to create my own OS frontend and have all features easily reachable.

- Interface Update - 3 August 2021
The following changes have been made: the overview now lists all overlays visibly, you can drag to change position, or drop layers in between. you can change the theme in the overview settings. the theme picker has gotten a filter bar some fixes to the systray icon note: the gallery search doesn't work right now, working on it with steam support.

- RSS Feeds included in 3rd June update - 29 June 2021
Bringing another update (after steamworks gallery and pixel exact clicking this month) being the RSS widget. You can setup multiple profiles each with it's set of RSS links. This update also includes a bunch of optical fixes mainly around items/buttons. As well as some fixes with: copying images, pasting, and extension of the move/ go to menu, as well as a new entry "copy to a new layer".

Delayed overlay/tile animations Delays can now be set in the animation settings. This allows very specific button effects as well as more organic layer transitions. Also, animation centers have been fixed to really originate with the element's center instead of 0/0. Pixel exact cursor reacting Is a new option added to button/tile's layout settings. You can use any cutout images for buttons. You can ether hide the background and work with the icon or use theme's mouse hover/press events with different images. Minor fixes: Item owners links checkbox now checked by default in the upload form

Gallery after release updates The gallery thumbnails have been updated with the authors websites icons. You can specify your websites in the new account settings in the settings tab. Changes The volume slider had it's own color settings, which has ne been removed and instead connected to the active theme. You can now select any of the usual themes instead. Additions While in edit mode you can now easier transition with the new bring back edit mode, open explorer and open browser icons. A tiny core function ..has been implemented: Images of any shape now react pixel exact to cursor hovering. You have to disable the background in the button layout settings for this to activate (+ use a command). To be able to enjoy Aurum and get new interfaces straight to your screen, Aurum has been freshly updated with the overlay & theme gallery! You can now upload, browse and rate others content. To enable the new features select beta in Aurum app steam settings. After a week the update will be in non beta. A quick workflow overview Every uploaded Aurum content can be seen as a pack. A pack can contain a combination of layers and themes. If you want to publish your content you select public, if you just want to backup, private. When you find something you like hit download. The content will be downloaded to your overlays overview and theme pickers. You can use the thumbs and heart to rate or favorite others content. - Performance update and bugfixes preparation for June update - 2 June 2021
containing a couple of bugfixes and small features! Amongst them a noticeable animation performance bottleneck fix for some systems, a go to option in the context menu, and dropping multiple images at once. This release is a preparation for the main June update happening in the next days!
- May update bringing hotcorners available in beta now - 20 May 2021
One of Aurums main goals is to bring functions fast, So far this was handled by hotkeys only (connected to dpi button on mouse for extra speed). To make aurum more versatile, hotcorners have been added to the overlay trigger options. They come with adjustable lengths and delays. Also above two new useful functions: The green smart activate/deactivate whole overlay button as well as the load overlay on start option. - Patch notes - 25 April 2021
CHANGES Overlay settings are now directly in the edit mode window as well for more convenient editing. The grid snapping was removed as it was more confusing than useful. It will be replaced with some more advanced placing tools. Until then please use WASD exact placing if necessary. Pressing shift in edit mode makes windows transparent for preview. FIXES Fixed a bug with font picker showing another themes font.
