• Russian version now live! - 1 August 2023

  Quick Intro After months of hard work from Dicur3x, Vieros and I, CYE is now fully available in Russian! The whole game is identical to the English version minus the actual English. It is a nice feeling making CYE more available to people, not 100% sure on future translations at this point of time due to how time consuming it was. However, I do have a translation template written out, so the option is always there =) Many thanks

• The Mum vs Mom update. - 2 July 2023

  Quick intro I was watching a twitch stream over on GameLuster last night and I never noticed how much of the dialogue has been entangled with both American and British terminology! As the game is set in the states and I happen to be a UK citizen, there was a large number of Mums I'd managed to unintentionally sneaked in without realizing. List of changes - Changed all the Mum, Mummy words into Moms and Mommy's. - Capitalized all Dads, Daddy, Moms and Mommy. - Changed the Accident and Emergencies sign at the hospital, into the Emergency Room. - Added animated arrows above the subway, it's actually surprisingly easy to miss and has been mentioned a couple of times. - Added two syringes on the subway train. - Added the word battery on the graffiti at the hospital. • Upcoming Price Cut. - 17 May 2023

  Quick Intro There’s going to be a planned upcoming price cut that I’ve been meaning to do for a while now, will go into effect once the sale has finished. Also gave me an excuse to add/change a couple of things around :> Changes - Implemented a new mid-credit scene. Originally wanted to create the extra ending back in mid development but opted out due to how dark and ambiguous it was, definitely adds an extra layer to the events of the game. Hope people love it as much as I do :D - Consequently as a side effect of the mid credit scene, I did have to change one crucial detail in the ending sequence for it to fit better. With the confusing “Two years ago?” being switched to “One year later?” the meaning of scene hasn’t changed just the time period, plus it’s less confusing. - The Head teacher in the school level now appears in other areas whilst playing as Jake. • Final update - 27 October 2021

  Quick Intro After almost a year of updates and fixes, it's time to say goodbye. It's not as expansive as prior changes but it's stuff I wanted to add the first time around. Changes - Additional NPCs early game. Inside the school and outside Chloe's house. - New ladder section after the school mid game. - Created a chase sequence just before Chloe enters the hospital. - Shortened the two cutscenes in the car. - Fixed a couple of graphical errors with some enemy sprites - There's now a special room before you meet Rupert. - Some of the enemies have pogo sticks in the school section. - The Hotel level now has messages cropping up on the walls. - Switched the location of the Valve key item in the hotel, don't have to go to the other side of the building to acquire said item. - Knocked down the HP for the final boss. - Changed some of the floor tiles in the final level. - Furniture in the ar…

• CYE Remix update. - 8 June 2021

  Quick Intro Wasn't 100% sure what to call this update. Even though I've made many changes, I was half tempted to call it a special edition but there's not a vast amount of new content to qualify as such. Best call it a remix for now. Key changes Cutscenes - Chloe, Bella, Rupert, Sally, Jake and Sandra now have more facial expressions in story segments. - The moon ellipse from the trailers is back in the game. Was originally removed before launch due to early game pacing issues. - General wait time between dialogue has been cut down by 75%. Now measuring at 0.25 seconds. - Small dialogue change in the subway and prior final boss. - Slight extension to the subway crash. - Screen text on Chloes thoughts after exiting the radio station. - Small grammar fixes. • CYE update 2.0 - 7 March 2021

  Key changes Reworked the running system. It now no longer recharges over time and is instead refilled by the syringe, adding an extra element of item management. The reasoning behind the change, is due to how people engaged with the game when the original update was implemented. I noticed players used to run past enemies and speed through most of the game, having way too much ammo and syringes by the end. To help with this change, I added food items for people to eat in order to recharge some stamina, along with an extra syringe early game. I’ll revert the changes if it’s unpopular. More interaction There are six Television Sets the player can turn on and off in the game world, each with unique animations and sound effects. Cutscenes -Sally now smiles when teasing Jake (After the Hotel) -Chloe now hugs Sally after rescuing her. (Art Exhibit) More background effects Glowing street lamps.…

• CYE Update 1.7 - 11 February 2021

  Key changes Cutscenes -Chloe now hugs Jake after rescuing him. Slight dialogue change (School) -The headteacher now turns her head when she hears a knock on the door. Slight dialogue change. (School) -Buttons now appears in the end cutscene. Slight dialogue change for Rupert. (His original line was way too cheesy) New background effects Wall monitors, computers and security cameras now display different animations. Other changes -The headteacher boss now has less hitpoints. No longer being the bullet sponge that she was. -Fixed passability issues in the subway. -Shortened a couple of wait internals between dialogue. -Running is now enabled for the final boss. Future I will continue to add new background effects, character animations and enemy redesigns in the coming months.

• CYE Update 1.6 - 8 December 2020

  Key Changes New running mechanic. With a regenerative stamina bar, the player can now hold shift to run in any direction. Once emptied, wait for the bar to start recharging to run again. Consequently, holding Left Shift won't bring up the cursor for combat and is now strictly for Mouse Right only. Known issues with regards to running. - Slight character frame skip when running diagonally. - Holding Left Shift and Mouse Right at the same time will deplete the stamina bar, despite the player not actually running. Other changes - Rejigged boss encounters to balance out the new mechanic. (Running is disabled for the final boss and therefore remains untouched) - Created running sprites for Donald, Rupert and Sandra. - Added shotgun shells outside the hospital. - Added three enemies outside the hospital. - Changed the screen tone inside the building complex that houses the "Building a ramp" s…

• CYE Update 10/11/20 - 10 November 2020

  Key changes You can now go back to the title screen by pressing Esc. Only works outside of cutscenes. If one is already in a playthrough, you’ll have to wait until after the next cutscene for it to activate. Use syringe with Left mouse click when equipped. No longer have to reach over to the other side of the keyboard in order to heal up. Can still use the “I” key, just in case your muscle memory is playing up. Fixes. -Fixed passibility issues. -Fixed a glitch in the art gallery, where it incorrectly told the player that the door was unlocked.
