  Is there a name for the subgenre of games divided into little levels where you try, die to a seemingly impossible challenge, instantly retry with a button press, die, then retry and die over and over until you nail it and feel like an absolute champion? Disc Room is one of those games, and it's a good one. First released in 2020, it hit Game Pass this week, inviting more folks to dodge through a giant alien spaceship filled with buzzsaws.   Thanks so much for playing the game! Here's another bunch of small fixes and improvements. 1.03 fixes: Wall collisions are slightly less sticky, dash is no longer cancelled by the walls. Last comic now unlocks properly in the menu. F12 can now be used to take Steam screenshots. Using FFW no longer disqualifies the 200% speed challenge. Getting Antibodies over 20 seconds no longer disqualifies a certain goal. Fix for ??????? level Phantom Gatekeeper. Trailblazer now also works as a solution to a certain puzzle. Something to do with the challenges. Fix for people experiencing an error when using absorb.

  1.02 fixes: You'll no longer get stuck in the wall using Slow. You'll be able to use Mirror when next to a wall. Fix for one of the ???????? rooms not unlocking. Fix for absorb not unlocking for some people. Fix for hard mode not unlocking for some people. Fix for the boss rush ???????? room. Fix for splitter and clone disc exploits. UI sound for leaderboard page toggle. Improved blast collision. Small tweak to timeless. You'll no longer start hard mode with a best of 30 on the first room. Tweaked sound volumes for the first and final gatekeeper. Less than 30 deaths challenge will no longer show the wrong value. Gatekeeper phase 1 visual fix. Dash trail visual fix at higher game speeds. Final area performance improvements. Clone performance improvements. Door lock sound fix.

  Disc Room review A speedy arcade dodge ’em up that sticks you in a room with more buzzsaws than one is normally comfortable with. • Steam Game Festival is live with oodles of excellent game demos - 18 March 2020

  Steam kicks off a nearly week-long spree of free game demos today with its Steam Game Festival. It is certifiably a celebration of great indie games, with demos available for some that are already released and others yet to come. There appears to be a bit of everything: puzzles, action, management, platforming, and more. • Devolver Digital announce a buzz saw bullet hell called Disc Room - 24 February 2020

  Has science gone too far? If there’s just a bunch of buzz saws flying around a room that you for some reason willingly walked into, I’ll argue yes. Devolver Digital announced Disc Room today, a gore-y new game where you’re a scientist who’s had the rat in a maze paradigm flipped on them.
