- Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Storm Ground review - 2 June 2021
With Warhammer games having the hit ratio of a blunderbuss shooting a target at fifty feet, I should really be immune to its allure by now. But by Sigmar's steely scrotum, something about its world just gets me. I'll internet-binge whichever faction I command in Total War: Warhammer, and amidst the onslaughts of Vermintide I'll tell my teammates to shut up and wait a second as I soak up the banter between the heroes in my search for little lore tidbits... - Roguelite strategy Warhammer Age Of Sigmar: Storm Ground is out now - 29 May 2021
My default response when I see a Warhammer fantasy game is, "Oh, another Warhammer fantasy game." So it was with the release of Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Storm Ground a few days ago. Then a friend explained that it was a turn-based strategy game about combining your units' abilities in careful ways, to shove and ensnare your enemies. Like Into The Breach but with ghosts and chaos gods, maybe? In any case, it's out now and I'm going to give it a go. Read more
- Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Storm Ground review - solid strategy - 27 May 2021
Six years ago Games Workshop expanded their venerable Warhammer Fantasy Battle wargame by introducing the new, sexy Age of Sigmar. Out went the quasi-medieval Old World with its blocks of grubby foot knights, in came the multi-dimensional Mortal Realms and shiny, superhuman Stormcast Eternals. It had a warm reception - by which I mean one guy was so disgusted he set a thousand dollar model collection on fire - but six years is long enough for new blood to discover and adopt the setting. Barring a couple of digital card games and autobattlers, Storm Ground is Age of Sigmar's first major outing in videogames - and you can buy it here , coincidentally. So, does Storm Ground land like a thunderbolt hurled from Azyr, or bubble up like a swampy fart in the rotten cauldron of Nurgle? The Age of Sigmar is a time of ceaseless war between the many Gods and their servants. Three factions feature i…

- Here's a last-minute first look at Warhammer Age Of Sigmar: Storm Ground - 26 May 2021
There's less than 24 hours to go before Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Storm Ground hits Steam, but you can now watch about 16 mins worth of new footage from the game thanks to a new, last-minute developer video. The turn-based strategy game set in the rather maligned Sigmar setting looks kind of neat. The strategy isn’t grand at all. It’s full of tight, hex-based battles in deadly dioramas, and even has a touch of Into the Breach about it. Read more
- Here's 15 mins of Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Storm Ground gameplay - 25 May 2021
Focus Home Interactive has released 15 minutes of Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Storm Ground gameplay. The gameplay, which you can see in the video below, is narrated by game director Jeff Lydell and design director Ian Christy from developer Gasket Games. We see a small group of Stormcast Eternals during a mid-to-late battle of the campaign against a modest Nighthaunt army. The Stormcast Eternals' numbers are few, so Lydell makes smart use of his units' skills as well as knowledge of the environment (pushback, high ground bonuses, lethal hazards etc) to win the assasination mission. You can choose from several hero units within a faction to lead your force, with a diverse roster of additional unit types inspired by the tabletop game to back up your leader. There will b…
