- Ex Star Wars Battlefront 2 dev lends support to rising calls for a sequel - 23 May 2025
Star Wars Battlefront 3 has long felt as far out of reach as fellow theoretical third entries such as Half-Life 3. As player counts soar in the wake of Andor Season 2, a former developer says his team "want to get the gang back together" to make Battlefront 3. Read the rest of the story... - 2005 Star Wars Battlefront 2's first patch in three years pulled after it broke the game - 10 February 2021
The first patch in three years for the 2005 Star Wars Battlefront 2 was pulled after it broke the game. A surprise hotfix update was issued on 9th February to Pandemic Studios' much-loved multiplayer shooter that addressed a number of issues with graphic resolution and controller support in the game. While the update was initially met positively - an update for a 15 year old game is fantastic support, after all - it didn't take long for players to notice it broke the game in several key areas. But then - poof! - gone. I would very much like them to come back. It's taken me a while to realise but conquest modes are often the secret ingredient to some of my most beloved games, home to my most beloved pre-adolescent memories. Not to be confused with the tickets-and-control-points Conquest mode in Battlefield, which is fun but not what I'm on about, the conquest mode I'm talking about is where you get a big, often slightly silly layer over the top of the "actual" game itself, in the form of a map with regions or planets or whatever that you strategize…
