- Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 adds more modes and characters today - 4 February 2021
Puyo Puyo Tetris will get a further round of additions today in a new update. Four new characters (Serilly, Rafisol, Strange Klug and Yu & Rei) will be included, alongisde three new songs and colour blind settings. What happens when you combine a great puzzle game with the perfect puzzle game? You get Puyo Puyo Tetris , an absolutely delightful peanut butter and chocolate-style combination, which managed to make both Puyo Puyo and Tetris even better with a wide array of both standard and combo modes. Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 followed that up on consoles last year with even more content, and now that sequel is finally coming to PC, too. Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 hits Steam on March 23, 2021. - Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 dropping onto PC in March - 27 January 2021
Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 arrived just in time to see out 2020 on consoles, but PC players sadly didn't get an invite to that particular party. Thankfully, they won't be left out too much longer, as Sega has finally announced a 23rd March release date for the puzzle-adventure sequel on Steam. As you might imagine, Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 is very much a continuation of the winning formula last seen in 2017's Puyo Puyo Tetris, meaning plentiful block-dropping and blob-matching action spread across a variety of solo and multiplayer modes. Adventure mode returns for more ridiculous story driven shenanigans, for instance, this time across multiple dimensions and with a new overworld map, and returning favourites such as Versus, Fusion, Swap, Party, and Big Bang are joined by the new RPG-inspired Skill Battle mode - featuring dynamic character-based skills and equippable item cards. Sega is bringing Sonic the Hedgehog to Puyo Puyo Tetris 2, its excellent second crack at everyone's favourite puzzle game. The iconic blue mascot will be added to the game today via a new update.
