• Goodbye Gutwhale! - 26 June 2020

  Hello everyone! This post marks the end of work on Gutwhale! While you can find a more in depth post-mortem from my developer side here, this text is about the future of Gutwhale on Steam! To make it short: - Gutwhale will get no future updates on steam - we have been unable to get achievements working - the faulty control texts are fixed - the savegame issues have been fixed - we still do not know for sure why some controllers do not work Steam does not automatically update your version of Gutwhale. If you want to get all the fixes & updates we have done, you need to reinstall the game. We want to thank you all for your great feedback and suggestions. They are really appreciated and I truly wish I could have implemented some of them. • Two Weeks After Release - Quick Update - 20 April 2020

  Heyo :) It has been exactly 2 weeks since Gutwhale released! Again, thank you all for your support, nice comments and helpful feedback! Releasing a game is pretty stressful. After one exhausting month of development, I was not prepared for that. While my mental health and overall life is pretty good, I just felt frozen in place. Not taking a few days off after release was a big mistake, and I have spend the last 2 weeks fiddling with small parts of the game, never making any real progress on the updates. This post is just a quick apology for not being there fully to support the game, as well as to say that now, finally, I am able to work on updating Gutwhale. Thanks for your patience, josh

• Gutwhale - first update - 9 April 2020

  Heyo :) Tthe first update for Gutwhale has just been published! I hope that steam will automatically update your game, but if you do not see a new loading screen when booting up the game, you have to quickly reinstall Gutwhale :/ This is just a small quality of life update, containing the following things: Savegame issue fixed Achievement room unlock issue fixed Restarting now resets combo, hat & score Added quick restart button (R on keyboard / Y on controller) Fixed wrong text on restarting with controller Added Dpad support to menu Added combosystem to nightmare mode Now I will focus on the bigger tech tasks, such as getting Gutwhale to run reliably on Linux & Max, fixing the arcane controller problem & trying to get steam achievements and cloud save to work! • The Future of Gutwhale! - Post Release Roadmap - 7 April 2020

  Heyo! Gutwhale has released and it has been amazing! Thank you to everyone who played it, we are really happy that you seem to enjoy it and thank you so much for your 100% positive ratings :O We have recieved a lot of feedback and after sifting through all of it, i am proud to present the roadmap for my continued work on Gutwhale! First, I am going to polish the current version up: - I am going to fix many of the little bugs and exploits that do not break the game but are a bit annoying. - I am going to fix some small issues related to the games saving system - I am going to rework the endgame content, so that it has more features for people who have beaten the complete game and are now competing for highscores and speedruns! • Gutwhale releases on April 6!! - 4 April 2020

  Gutwhale release on April 6th! We are all very excited and hope that you will love the game as much as we enjoyed making it :) Gutwhale was made in one month, so some things that players normally expect from a game on steam are lacking, Here is what I will look into after the 6th: Linux & OS Builds (They are not stable rn. I will put them on Itch.io if you want to try) Steam Achievents Cloud Saving I will compile a more accurate Roadmap after release, when the first feedback from players has arrived :) I never got to write those Devlogs, so I will also do that in the weeks after release!
