If you look at the history of the game's updates and announcements, you'll see the communication has been overwhelmingly one-sided - no feedback and no suggestions regarding the game from the community. For a long time it hasn't been much of a problem, as I continued to make updates without the community's guidance. And yes, a lot of people don't realize I'm the sole developer of this game. Obviously I bought a lot of assets for it, as I mostly do programming, and the quality of those assets can make you think that there was a team behind it (and in some sense, there was). The insufficient support made me have to shift my attention away from Frag Grounds. In my free time I would work on new features, and 4netplayers.com have been generous enough to keep the servers running free of charge for several years, but they eventually informed me they cannot consider providing their service for…
- Retirement of Frag Grounds - 17 February 2025
The official servers will shut down on the 28th of February this year, and the game will not receive any more updates, and will be scheduled for removal from the Steam Store. A Great Big Thanks for everyone who supported Frag Grounds during Early Access!

The update focuses on Survival mode, and includes the following changes: Tougher wave bosses Turrets! New Achievements! 3 difficulty settings Adjusted enemy spawn frequency Minor fixes To place a turret, press the Store button (B by default) and select it from the menu. Place it on the ground, where it can have enough free space around it. You can also activate turrets on top of some of the buildings. Those turrets have more ammo, but are more expensive. It's been a while, but the latest update is finally here! The v.1.2.3.1 features some multiplayer fixes, but also changes to the singleplayer mode, including: Improved controls Improved shotguns - now with less spread and more damage Improved AI Fixed damage multipliers for limbs Improved visibility on some maps with Eye Adaptation And more minor fixes! Translations have been temporarily removed due to some bugs. Sorry for the inconvenience! What about the future of the project, though? Well, while there are no plans to abandon this game, development has been a real challenge due to my personal responsibilities and insufficient support. Today's update brings a new multiplayer mode - Arena, as well as various improvements and bugfixes, including: - new firing effects - toned down low health effects for better visibility - network optimizations - conquest mode fixes - baked lighting for conquest maps (interior lights) - improved roads on conquest maps - added Eye Adaptation on some maps - new vehicle explosion sounds The new baked lights aim to offer better lighting quality and performance. In some areas minor shading errors can be seen when the lights are on, but the issue will be resolved in future updates.

The v1.1.2.8 update is coming along nicely and should be out very soon. Among the features listed in the previous announcement there will be a new singleplayer mode - Survival. Players will have to endure endless waves of rebels and robots that get stronger and more numerous with each wave. Credit acquired by killing enemies can be used to open doors to new areas, repair barricades or purchase weapons. This new game mode will be limited to a single map for now, possibly with a choice between daytime or nighttime. On another note, I just got a full-time job at a newly formed games development studio, so I will now have significantly less time to work on Frag Grounds. Following updates will focus on more singleplayer modes and levels, and hopefully a full-blown campaign mode in the more distant future.
