- 294 Students. One Study. Encouraging Results for Space Tow Truck. - 3 July 2026
More than a decade ago, I set myself a challenge: to create a video game capable of teaching physics.Today, that challenge has been evaluated through a study involving 294 physics students, and the results are incredibly encouraging.I had the pleasure of presenting this research at the EDULEARN 2026 conference in Mallorca.The study found that students who used Space Tow Truck achieved greater learning gains than those who received traditional instruction alone. Even more encouraging, these improvements were still measurable one month later in the delayed post-test.The results also showed that using the game did not reduce students' motivation compared to the control group.For me, this means much more than numbers. - Amazing students! - 20 February 2024
They won the Emerging Talent Award at UQAM's Educational Research Popularization Competition (CVRÉ) by presenting the study that will evaluate the effects of Space Tow Truck on the learning of physics at the college level. Wow! As student researchers, they also brilliantly collected and compiled the data from this study. All this in parallel with their studies in high school teaching! I'm really proud that this great project, in partnership with researchers at UQAM, has generated so much involvement and creativity. The next generation of high school science teachers is inspiring! It's a start! This fall, Space Tow Truck will be used as part of a research project! To date, no research has focused on the effects of an educational game on physics learning in CEGEP. The results of this study by UQAM researchers (Patrick Chartrand, Martin Riopel and Stéphane Cyr) could therefore help determine the relevance and limitations of games for pre-university physics courses. We are therefore very proud to contribute to the advancement of knowledge in science didactics!

In this update : - level design of levels 3.6, 6.5 and 7.23 was improved - there is now a smoother transition in PUZZLE MODE after completing a level - all conversations have been removed in PUZZLE MODE - there have been several text corrections in english and in french - other minor bug fixes

You have been heard! Thanks to your comments during the Steam Next Fest, a new update of SPACE TOW TRUCK is now available! Here are some details about this update: - Sound level of FX reduced (teleportation, time recoil, etc.) - In the settings, it is now possible to allow (or not) camera shake - A button now allows you to exit the video replay mode - A clue has been added to the "demo" level (the one with the black hole) - When a new page of the instruction manual is available, the "instruction manual" button flashes - Some other small issues fixed I am also looking for music to accompany the puzzles. I have browsed the bank of the Pond5.com site, but I have not yet made a choice. If you have any suggestions, please let me know! :)

- Puzzle Mode Update! - 10 June 2021
The puzzle mode is for people who especially like solving puzzles. The narration is greatly reduced and is limited, essentially, to giving information about the mechanics of the game. In this mode, all levels are accessible from the start and the difficulty level of each level is clearly indicated. The person playing can therefore decide to do the puzzles in any order they wish. A preview of each level is also available by clicking on the difficulty level.
