20210711 What’s good, gamers? We’re honestly pretty surprised to admit how far a few flashing lights can go! Part of the incoming missile warning we had planned was to spice up the screen and inject a little more chaos to your eyeballs while providing information to help you race as effectively as possible. We feel like we succeeded wildly on both fronts! Seeing the HUD light up when you’re in the lead and have missiles bearing down on you from behind is a rush and helps you choose your lines more wisely than ever. Couldn’t be happier to announce its inclusion! Our next update will be when achievements are done but it’s very unlikely to be in a week so unfortunately it will break a streak of over 60 consecutive weeks of updates. Disappointing? Nahhhh. What a run of productivity! Completed Incoming missile warning Next Achievements Thanks! -Mac Community and dev access https://discord.gg…

20210704 What’s good, gamers? Given ZEROED’s development should be wrapping up in the near future, we thought it’d be a good idea to finally update our game trailer to show off all the improvements since the previous one. We also used a lot more cinematic footage than last time, which we think makes it all the more appealing! Check it out and snag a copy while the Summer Sale is still on! In other news, we tightened up collisions so you can pass by other racers a lot closer without crashing. It’s making for a lot smoother racing! We’re wrapping up the incoming missile warning and let me tell ya… It’s looking real, real good. Hopefully you feel it adds as much to the experience as we do! - Summer sale! - 27 June 2021
20210627 What’s good, gamers? Well, I’m not sure if you noticed over the past few weeks but there hasn’t been a ton to report. We’re still working on a lot but most of it’s just fixing bugs and polishing things up, which isn’t a lot to talk about in an update. Next week we should have the incoming missile warning implemented and the promo video done though! What’s this update for, then? To tell you about the 44% off you could get right now during the Summer sale! It’s going to be the last substantial sale for a while because once we leave Early Access we’re going to sit on the price for a little bit. So if you’re interested and want to save on it, now’s the time! 20210620 What’s good, gamers? Thinking of becoming a game developer? Know what they don’t tell you? That most of the time it’s not about adding cool and interesting features… Nope! Most of the time it’s about making what you’ve already implemented work properly! What fun! So we’re still wading through bugs but do you know how there used to be that big gap between the HUD and the rail? Well we tightened that up and you shouldn’t ever see a gap there again! Also, the loading bar is now your selected color instead of always blue. Nice touch, right? Last but certainly not least, we’re going to implement an incoming missile warning! It’s something we were unsure of before but it should throw a little more adrenaline into the mix! - It just keeps gettin’ better - 13 June 2021
20210613 What’s good, gamers? Know how sometimes when I do these updates it’s not about some groundbreaking new feature but instead it’s just mentioning a bunch of stuff that we fixed or made slightly better? WELCOME TO ANOTHER ONE OF THOSE! The bugs were some barely noticeable things but the tweaks were kinda nice. If it’s your first time playing on Steam, it’ll import the first 8 characters of your name instead of it being blank! Also, the Quick and Practice modes now have all the AI listed in the unfilled player slots! Yeah, didn’t think those would knock your socks off but hey, we’ve started working on achievements! Yee! 20210606 What’s good, gamers? The ability to do practice races in Zeroed has been a feature since the beginning but it has definitely needed a new coat of paint for a while now. You were able to race against a range of AI but you didn’t have the ability to tailor the experience beyond that. Well, now you can! Difficulty selection is available as well as a reworked UI that looks a bit cleaner. Now you can work through the ranks of AI to prepare yourself to take on the best in ZeroHour! Aside from that, we’ve been hammering away at a new promo video to help this thing look as tantalizing as possible. Hopefully we succeed and can get this party started! 20210530 What’s good, gamers? Do you want a big flashy update this week with tons of jaw-dropping information that’ll leave you speechless? Well TOO DAMN BAD! Because we’ve been doing a lot of work on the back-end which won’t really jump out at you but it should result in a more pleasurable experience overall. Online should be a bit smoother for you with less jumping and loading into races got cleaned up so it’ll be seamless and with a new loading bar! Also, not a huge thing to put below but we also added a popup that happens when you set a new personal-best lap time! Woot! 20210523 What’s good, gamers? If we’re not careful, we might just end up with a pretty solid gaming experience here! One thing that definitely needed to be addressed was the fact that you could just leave in the middle of a ZeroHour and its result would be wiped from your history as if it never happened at all. Really the only difference that makes is keeping people from protecting their trophies and rank that display in the waiting room. If you care about bragging rights as much as we do, you understand why that was a must-have! 20210516 What’s good, gamers? Well, that escalated quickly. We went from having no achievements and no plans for achievements to about 100 we’d like to incorporate. Not sure how viable it’ll be to pack all of them in but our intention is to put in as many as possible so there’s even more for you to do! Feel free to hit us up on Discord if you have some suggestions of your own. That’s the future, but what about the present? Leaderboards are in, baby! 20210509 What’s good, gamers? Sometimes it’s about the things you can’t see, ya know? We’re working hard on making some back-end changes to thrilling things like how races load. I know you paid for the whole seat but you’ll just need the edge for this update! The plan is to have that done before the next update, as well as leaderboards. If you feel like you’re having deja vu, you’re not. Stop it. This is new news, I swear! Fine, want some actual news? The 2 fresh tracks we have on Te ora and Wawae. 20210502 What’s good, gamers? You know that old saying about practice making perfect? Well, apparently we’d forgotten about it because somehow we’re surprised that our newest tracks are probably the best ones. Hopefully once you’re able to try them out you’ll agree! Just a couple left before we’ve got 3 for each map, plus their reverse versions, which will give you plenty to select from. Leaderboards should be wrapping up before the next update as well as some back-end stuff that needed some reworking, which you probably won’t notice but will tighten up gameplay. 20210425 What’s good, gamers? The position HUD has been showing its age for a while and we’re happy to announce it’s been updated! It’s got a little more polish and we added ship icons to help make order a little clearer. As much as we enjoy being able to share that with you, we’re even more excited to tell you that we figured out how to incorporate a lot more leaderboards! 20210418 What’s good, gamers? The pre-race load screen is cleaned up and implemented! It turned out pretty much exactly as we’d hoped which isn’t always the case so we’re excited about it. Even further exceeding expectations is the leaderboard function! We’ve been wanting to include some sort of long-term goal and it looks like through Steam we’ll be able to track how many points everyone’s earned overall in ZeroHour. Not only that, but we’ll also track the best lap times for each track! We really wanted to do daily, weekly and monthly totals but sadly it doesn’t appear that can be automated, so it’s unlikely at this point. What we can add should be a nice touch, though! 20210411 What’s good, gamers? Not a lot to report this week except a lot of little touches that should go unnoticed. We did a little more extensive testing recently and found a few more system hiccups we’re clearing out. Hopefully we catch all of them so it’s smooth flyin’! Most of that is patched up so we’ll be moving onto some additional subtle touches that should make the overall experience a little better. 20210404 What’s good, gamers? I’m thrilled to announce that something we started with only modest hopes of completing has been completed! We were thinking the ship rotation revision might take longer than would be worth it but things really came together nicely. Hopefully you like the addition and think it makes things a little more pleasing to your eyeballs! It’s kind of a subtle change but we feel it goes a long way. Also, we made the AI even better by giving them more intelligent boosting… But worry not, we don’t have any other tricks up our sleeves to make them even more lethal. They should be good enough! 20210328 What’s good, gamers? For a while now, races have been a bit of a walk in the park while we test… Oh boy, how I’m already missing those times. We adjusted some things about how the AI operates and the hardest levels are now putting on a clinic. Fun fact, we’ve got one more tweak to make to them which will have them being even more of a challenge. Getting a trophy in a ZeroHour should be a tall task for just about anyone now! In other news, we finally implemented one of the features that was a part of the original concept but it just didn’t test well, sadly. 20210321 What’s good, gamers? Sorry for the lack of an update last week! We’ve still gone through with these even when little had transpired, but… There was pretty much nothing to report last week. So rather than waste your precious time with mindless babbling, we’ll waste your precious time with slightly coherent babbling this week! The new ship “Razer” has been fully implemented and we hope you dig it. The new pre-race countdown should make it clearer when exactly to throttle and at the end of races AI will take over control of your ship so you don’t just fly to a stop. 20210307 What’s good, gamers? You know, we really hope that when you play our tracks you find it a smooth and enjoyable experience. If there are any bumps or rough edges, believe us when we tell you that it’s not because we didn’t exhaust ourselves for hours trying to iron out every last section. Why do we bring that up now? Because we forgot how tedious and annoying that process is until having to do it again for the new tracks. But you know what? 20210228 What’s good, gamers? It feels like it’s been a little while since we’ve had some new tracks, doesn’t it? Well we’ve got at least a couple new ones in the works! The idea is to have a decent mixture of short, medium and long distance tracks on each map for variety, so we’ll see how well we can accomplish that goal. The ship selection screen got a much-needed improvement, as did the AI racing capabilities, and we were able to locate an issue with our build settings that was causing poor performance and some other wonk in builds of the game. What does that mean? Hopefully smoother and better looking races for all! We need to hammer out a few things that are just touch ups but soon enough we’ll be onto some cool new features!
