- More bug fixes, some map editor and a little bug (easter egg) - v1.1.23 - 25 August 2026
Good morning Screw DriversI have another small update for you, a mixture of bug fixes and some map editor improvements. Here is the changelog of v1.1.23: New FeaturesI added the king bug to the map editor (yes, really). Place it somewhere. It will start charging player cars passing by, and attack them. As bugs do.You can now toggle inverting steering on suspensions. For this to work, you have to delete existing suspensions and place them again, so they get the new property. Then you can enable the steering inversion. Custom keybindings will come later probably. You can now duplicate your selections in the map editor.Snapping is now disabled by default and can/has to be toggled by holding the shift key.The shift key also enables flying faster while holding it down.If you delete custom maps, they are actually just renamed and excluded from the game. So accidentally deleted maps never actual…
- Some quality of life update to our map editor - v1.1.22 - 24 August 2026
The map editor overhaul is hereThe map editor got a decent quality of life update: you can now move and rotate everything you have already placed, snap elements onto each other, and test drive your map as a real race. On top of that there is a whole pile of multiplayer fixes. New FeaturesMove and rotate placed elements. You can now properly select placed elements, and then translate, rotate them etc.Snapping. Elements snap onto each other now, so ramps, platforms and bridges line up on their own. The scroll wheel (LB/RB on controller) cycles through the possible snapping points.Multi selection. Select several elements at once, either by holding Shift or by dragging a rectangle over them. Moving, rotating and deleting then works on the whole selection.19 new map editor elements: ramps, platforms, a triple and a quad jump, a start and goal line, towers, a tree, an arch, a bridge, scaffold…

- Two small patches - v0.5.5.19 - 6 November 2025
Good morning fellow Screw Drivers,Over the last three days we uploaded two small updates, basically patches to fix some issues with the last big update. So these are the changes we made:Fixed a bunch of bugs with chains. Now cars should not get errors or have floating chains, stop calculating etc. because of chains. There are probably still some bugs left, but I tried to fix a lot of them :)The server browser crashesd all the time. It still does, but now it restarts automatically. So multiplayer and server browser should now be working. In the multiplayer lobby, there was a lot of lagging happening. This should now also be fixed.Fixed the general settings. There was a bug, so the settings did not apply. Should work again now. This also fixes the bug, where cars wouldn't automatically calculate in the garage anymore. Just make sure that you have turned that on in the settings, then it sho…
- Major update - Multiplayer, Gears, Chains, New Maps - 30 October 2025
Goood morning beloved Screw Drivers,This one is a long one, so here is a TL;DR. Only one thing to note, before you dive into all the new stuff: Since Marc and me are currently busy working another project we had to accept to pay the bills, we won't be able to work much on Screw Drivers a few months. This is why we decided to make this huge update releasing everything we've worked on so far, for you to play around with and enjoy. This means, things might still be even more bugged than usual, and some things are not finished or balanced. But we wanted you to experience all of those things, instead of having to wait a couple of months for them to be properly finished. That being said, here is the TL;DR, and below the detailed patchnotes. Enjoy! TL;DR- Every new feature of this update is still in beta, so if you find bugs, let us know and I'll fix them asap!- Multiplayer is back, including t…
- A quick update to all of you - 27 October 2025
Good morning to the best community,Simon here. Some of you probably already wondered why there haven’t been many updates lately, both of the game and from us devs. Don’t panic, we’re still here and alive. The reason why things went unusually slowly in the last couple of weeks is, that Marc and me had to take on another temporary project on the side, since Screw Drivers unfortunately hasn’t been performing as well as we’d hoped, and we needed to keep being able to pay our rent and feed the bugs living under our beds. I really really tried to find the time and energy to put some work into Screw Drivers as well, but it was just too much for me, and I noticed that this took a toll of my mental health.I’m getting by now, but my heart is broken since I’m currently not able to work on my most loved project in the world. And on top of that I really miss my Screw Drivers community, I’m sorry I ha…

- Update | Update | Update | Update - 30 July 2025
Gooood morning fellow Screw Drivers,we have brought several small updates over the last couple of weeks, and we gotta admit that we were just a little bit too lazy to post the patchnotes for every one of them. But now it's time to fill you in on all the things that happened in the last couple of weeks leading up to the current version of v0.5.4.25:Minor changesIn the general settings you can now enable or disable whether engines and gearboxes should provide or be provided with power through mounting holes. We moved all spawn points of challenges slightly up again, so that hopefully, cars don't spawn inside the terrain or road anymore. We also increased the time between the countdown numbers again. This way, the cars should have enough time to properly spawn and stand still, before the race starts. We changed the power of the V engine from 78HP to 82HP.You can directly jump from building to…
- New Update brings Major Performance Optimizations and countless Bug Fixes! - 27 June 2025
Happy Friday and welcome to the biggest performance optimization we ever did! With this update, we reprogrammed and restructured the whole project from the ground up. We took our core systems like the building editor, the driving physics and the vehicle calculation, and reassembled them freshly. We also deleted all ancient assets that were still in the project, and we reimported all the assets that are actually included in the game. All in all, we managed to reduce the RAM usage, increased FPS and reduced loading times by some margin. And most importantly, if the game did not start for you at all, now it might actually work! We hope you enjoy this sleek new version of Screw Drivers. Now that we got performance figured out, you can expect a lot of cool new features and content coming up next 🙂 And here are all the changes (hopefully, if I haven't forgotten any):GeneralWe completely rewo…
- Pretty Fly DLC, Racetrack Map and Physics Changes - 11 April 2025
Gooood afternoon everybody, this one is a big one! ːsteamhappyː After working day and night for the last two months, without any sleep or eating, we now have one of the biggest updates ever. And not only that, we also added airplanes to the game. Since the Steam Workshop is already flooded with airplanes, we finally added proper airplane physics to the game. With our new DLC “Pretty Fly” we added a huuuuuuge map to the game with airports and floating islands. You will have airplane wings, propellers and turbines to craft your own airplanes and challenge all the six monarchs of Pretty Fly: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3500960/Screw_Drivers__Pretty_Fly If you rather wanna stay on the ground, we also released the huuuge “Rennpisten Insel” to the main game. It’s the biggest non-aircraft island ever, and it contains an immense amount of roads and racing challenges. On top of all of tha…

- Show and Tell #2 - '50s-Style Bus by CatBurger23 - 6 March 2025
How long have you been playing Screw Drivers? I installed Screw Drivers on June 25th of 2024 and I've spent over 800 hours in game by now. I added the supporter pack soon after installing the game and recently bought the first DLC. How did you find out about the game, and what made you decide to play the game? I saw Scrapman playing SD on YouTube and was attracted to the game right away. During my childhood, I played a lot with LEGOs, especially LEGO Technic. I've been looking for a game which allows me to build stuff in an equal way for quite some time now, but never was able to find what I was looking for. So when I learned about SD, obviously I had to try it right away! What can you tell us about your vehicle? Oh, my bus?! Yeah, it's a beauty, isn't it? 😄 I took inspiration from a Saurer 2SC, a beautiful old excursion bus from the '50s. It's not an exact copy, though. It is quite ha…

- Saturday Patch - 14 December 2024
Happy Saturday everyone, we've prepared a small patch for the bugs we introduced with the latest v0.3.15.9 update. So here is a small and sweet patch for v0.3.15.10: Bug fixes Removed the camber from offroad suspensions again. We will postpone the whole balancing of suspensions until we have time to look at all suspensions at the same time. There was a bug, where it was possible to access some DLC building parts when being in creative mode. Not ignoring the steering angle limit is now the default setting. Before it was the other way around. Added a new area on the supersonic map where you can try to drive upside down on the ceiling. Tried to fix the bug, where the game crashes when quitting (Task failed successfully). Have a great weekend, Simon & Marc
- 🐍 Screw Drivers supports Razer's Sensa HD Haptics and Chroma peripherals! - 10 December 2024
Greetings all! If you've been playing or following Screw Drivers for a while (since around mid-September or earlier), you may have noticed that we announced at the time that the game would be one of the early bird titles to support Razer's Sensa HD Haptics peripherals. You know, that gaming cushion that attaches to your chair and can literally kick your butt. And yes, we kept our word: Screw Drivers supports Sensa HD Haptics peripherals and the Chroma RGB ecosystem from TODAY with the update V0.3.15.9! But let's start from the beginning, with two questions: 'Why are you doing this?' and 'How should a cushion for my chair improve my gaming experience?'. Let's answer the first question first: The reason is me, Tim. Hi! Well, personally I am very open-minded about such technical gadgets. And I am convinced that an intensive gaming experience can benefit from being more than just an audiovi…
