- 3.4.18 (Sergeant Party, Feline race added) - 7 June 2026
This update is designed to let players enjoy more of the game's content without unlocking Custom Parties. Specifically, a new Sergeant Party has been added for players who enjoy commanding larger groups, and some races can now be changed in the default Dungeon Mode parties. A new beastfolk race, the Feline, has also been added. I wanted to add a cute race!

- Skirmish mode update (v3.3) - 22 March 2026
This update adds a skirmish mode where short PvP or PvE battles can be played.Addition of Skirmish ModeIn skirmish mode, players can play short PvP or PvE matches on either pre-made maps or procedurally generated maps.In PvP, hot seat play is possible by default, and if controllers are available, keyboard/mouse vs controller or controller vs controller play is supported. In skirmish battles, the match does not end when a leader dies and continues until all members of one team are defeated. The fighting party can quick start with the default party, modify the default party before battle, or select desired members from one of the existing save files. On some pre-made maps, siege or defense events can be played. As always, implementing new features often seems quick at first but ends up taking over a week. Ultimately, this project seems driven not by dedication or passion but by personal satis…
- Class Reinforcement Update (v3.2.0) - 11 March 2026
This update is intended to improve classes that previously had no advanced class or required reinforcement. In addition, several classes that were suggested by the community or on Discord have been added. To support these class improvements, various skills were also added or reworked.Added Machinist as an advanced class of Tinkerer: The Machinist is designed to automatically summon a Mechanasle at the start of battle so that scrap debris can be obtained more smoothly. It can also detonate the Mechanasle using the Kill Switch skill to deal damage to enemies.Added Philosopher as an advanced class of Alchemist: The potion crafting abilities of the Alchemist’s skills have been enhanced, and a new Elemental Jar crafting skill has been added. The Transmute potion crafting skills now allow the player to choose one potion from several possible potions to create.Added Elemental Blade as an advan…
- v3.0.25 Update - 9 January 2026
This small update changes the behavior so that existing files in the local game mod folder are not automatically deleted or overwritten even when a Workshop mod is updated. This change was made because automatically deleting mods that users may have modified locally could cause issues. Now, when a Workshop mod is updated, players must manually delete the corresponding mod from the local mod folder (\/mods/) and restart the game to use the updated version.
- Steam Workshop Support - 8 January 2026
We have implemented Workshop support, which was one of the items on the roadmap for the last major update. You can now enter the Workshop through the Steam client and subscribe to any mod you want. When the game starts, the subscribed mod files are copied into the in-game mod folder (\/mods/).Subscribed mods are not automatically deleted from the in-game mod folder when you unsubscribe. However, when a Workshop mod is updated, the game compares the version information in the in-game info.json file and applies the update accordingly. If you place a mod you created yourself into the in-game mod folder, you can upload it to the Steam Workshop. For reference during mod creation, we have uploaded a data mod that includes all game information except for art and sound assets. After subscribing to this mod, you can open it from the in-game mod folder to see how the game data is structured. You can al…
- Steam Deck Launch Issue Fixed - 30 December 2025
The Steam Deck launch issue has been resolved. The cause of the crashes on Steam Deck was that, for unknown reasons, the game was not launching with the Linux native build but instead running the Windows build through Proton. When a gamepad was connected in this state, the game would crash. The issue has now been fixed so that the Windows build runs correctly under Proton, allowing the game to launch on Steam Deck without any additional action. However, to avoid potential performance issues, it is recommended to check the game compatibility settings and switch the runtime to Linux Runtime if it is set to Proton before launching the game on Steam Deck.

- Crawl Tactics Final Official Release - 11 December 2025
The final major update of Crawl Tactics, the Crawl Tactics Final version, has finally been released. What allowed this once barely playable, unfinished game to reach this point was your advice and encouragement. Thank you for loving and supporting Crawl Tactics for such a long time. While there will be no further large content updates, I will continue to work on bug fixes, balancing, and quality-of-life improvements. If you enjoyed the game but have not yet left a review, please consider doing so, and help spread the word so that fans of turn-based tactics and rogue-likes can discover Crawl Tactics :D Since this is the final major update for Crawl Tactics, I wanted to look back on the journey of making it. Start Development of Crawl Tactics began in 2018. Influenced by the combat of Tactics Ogre and the roguelite progression of FTL, the aim was to create a game where each new battlefiel…

Tactical Crawlers, the final major update of Crawl Tactics, which had been in beta testing, will be officially released on December 12, together with a sale. - Beta Update (v3.0.17) (Note: Not compatible with previous beta saves) - 1 December 2025
*Note: Save files are not compatible with the previous version. If you want to continue playing with your previous beta save, please use the beta_legacy branch. This beta update adds siege battles and defense battle events. In Dungeon Mode, siege or consecutive enemy invasion defense events have been added as special events. In Quest Mode, the Doomsday Counter has been replaced with periodic enemy invasions, and before battles you can construct structures such as cannons or barricades to block large numbers of enemies at the village entrance. Clearing exploration quests will delay enemy invasions. Changes: Added siege special events and defense eventsIn Quest Mode, the Doomsday Counter has been replaced with Monster Invasion and Invasion Defense (during invasions, structures such as cannons can be placed at the village entrance)Bug fix: Fixed an issue where the Abyss Gate would not open…
- Beta update (3.0.16b) - 4 November 2025
Update Notes 1. Added Japanese and Chinese translations. (They are AI-generated. Feedback from native speakers on translation quality would be appreciated.) 2. Added a ranking system where you can view run information after a game over, and added a graveyard in the village to view fallen units. 3. Certain enemies may now offer to surrender under specific conditions. Accepting their surrender grants you items. Also, locked passages will open after 2 turns from the start of battle, allowing allies to retreat or panicked enemies to flee through them. 4. Several minor bugs have been fixed.
- Beta update (3.0.12) - 28 October 2025
Here is the list of updates applied during the beta period. Once again, we ask for your active participation in the beta version! 1. Demi-Human Unit Selection: You can now start with a demi-human party in Custom Mode. When selecting a demi-human race, the village will feature the corresponding race’s mercenary camp instead of the tavern, and mercenaries of that race will also appear for hire in dungeons. In Quest Mode, the “renowned” mercenaries will mostly match the selected race. Unlike previous versions where only humans appeared, mercenaries of other races—including humans and different demi-humans—can now appear with certain probabilities. 2. Increased Starting Mercenary Limit in Custom Parties: In previous versions, the maximum number of starting mercenaries in a custom party was four. This has now been increased to eight. The maximum number of units deployable in battle during Qu…

- Control scheme improvement update (v2.6.37) - 26 July 2025
This small update is aimed at improving the controls, which have been frequently criticized. Since I lack a strong sense for UI/control design, I made changes based on player gameplay and suggestions. After updating the game, I recommend pressing the default binding button in the keyboard/mouse or gamepad settings to change to the default bindings.Save file selection menu simplified / Open menu with cancel button: Previously, you had to select the slot and then press the start button again, but many players considered this one of the most negative control experiences when first starting the game. So now, clicking the slot will immediately start the game. Also, in most PC games, pressing Esc during gameplay opens the menu, but Crawl Tactics didn’t follow this, causing confusion. Now, if there’s no cancelable function, pressing cancel (default Esc) will bring up the in-game menu. Basic ke…
- Crawl Tactics Dev Update: What’s Changed and What’s Next - 19 May 2025
Hello, tactical crawlers. It’s been quite a while since the major update late last year. Since then, we’ve tried to swiftly fix and update bugs as they appeared, but we haven’t been able to post update logs on the main Steam page. We also made minor balancing and UI updates as long as they didn’t drastically change the core gameplay. Thank you always for providing feedback on our flawed and inconvenient game. As I’ve mentioned a few times in the discussion boards, Crawl Tactics has one last major update remaining. In this post, I’d like to share the changes since the last update and what’s coming in the final major update. Summary of Updates Since Version 2.6 Since version 2.6.0, updates have mostly focused on UI/QoL improvements and balancing based on player feedback, rather than major changes to the game. CrawlPedia Improvements: Many pointed out that while the idea of the CrawlPedia…
- v2.6.0 Custom Difficulty / Debug Party / Subclass Update - 7 January 2025

Custom Difficulty Break free from predefined difficulty levels and customize the game to your liking. For example, you can face stronger enemies while recovering health after battles. Debug Party Similar to Custom Party, but without financial restrictions, allowing you to freely test party configurations. Subclass Subclasses grant access to skills from another job but require more experience points to level up. This feature enables strategic play by combining skills from two different classes.
