The Web Spider has a nasty trick up its sleeves (and it's a spider, so it has a lot of sleeves) - it shoots a web at you. If you've ever had a Blooper used on you in Mario Kart, you might notice a similarity. If the web hits your face, it makes it very difficult to see what's going on - providing the web spider and its allies a means of escape. - Exploding Spider - 26 June 2020
What's up, exterminators? If you played Ignition when it first came out, you may recall that spiderlings were originally red, after the first patch, they changed to white. Why? I decided to make an exploding spider and, according to the most hallowed video game traditions, things that explode when you shoot them must be red. So, without further ado - THE EXPLODING SPIDER! How does it work? Simple - kill this spider and (after a short charge-up) it explodes. The explosion can knock stuff around, set stuff on fire, and even kill other spiders! The exploding spider is different from others in one crucial aspect - it is immune to fire. That's right, your most important ally is useless here. - Queen Spider?!?! - 12 June 2020
What's up, exterminators? Today, I introduce the most terrifying spider yet. As we all know, most spiders are scary. But even the worst spider was still just one spider - until now. Introducing the Queen Spider. She's big, tough, and when you finally do manage to take her down, a handful of Spiderlings erupt from her corpse. Disgusting! You can also see a bit more of the convenience store level in these GIFs and a new weapon - the frying pan. It's slower than the clipboard but it does a lot more damage, enough to kill even the Queen in one hit. But, you might want to change tactics when facing the Spiderlings that come afterwards. As with most spiders, fire is always a popular option. Set the whole area on fire with say, a Molotov, and you might be able to roast the spiderlings on their way out. Hello spider hunters! I hope everyone has been pleased with the patch! I know some of you were confused about why the spiderlings changed from red to white, but the explanation is very simple: there are more spiders coming and I decided to make a different one red. Hmm...what else is red...? More on that in the near future! Question: What's worse than a spider? Answer: A hairy spider that jumps at your face. That's right - we've got a jumping spider. Not only does it lunge when discovered, but leaps occasionally while running around. It can also bang into objects as it catapults through the air, wreaking further havoc. Nowhere is safe. When facing a foe like this, you're gonna want to pack some serious heat. I'd recommend a fully automatic assault rifle at the very least. Just watch that spread... Hello spider hunters! I've been working on a little patch for KIWF Ignition - nothing too exciting, just some bug fixes, quality of life improvements, and a couple balance tweaks. Here's the full patch notes: User Interface: removed nearly all click and hold buttons, as they were confusing many users. Spiderling: changed color from red to white. Shotgun: increased starting ammo. First Contact: "Burn Stuff" objective items reduced from 50 to 30 First Contact: fixed a bug where a notification for the Nightstand (in the next level) could be seen after defeating 12 spiders. The response has been massive, positive, and honestly a bit overwhelming at times. It's especially exciting to see big names on YouTube playing my itsy-bitsy spider hunting game.
