• WINGS Women's Day Sale - 1 March 2024

  Hey folks! In participation of the WINGS Women's Day event, Crimson Spires will be 50% from now until March 10. Woodsy Studio is led by Jenny Gibbons, a writer who turned developer with her first release of the visual novel Serafina's Saga in 2013. At times she has partnered with co-writer Malcolm Pierce, such as for miraclr: Divine Dating Sim, Echoes of the Fey, and Crimson Spires. At other times she has been the sole developer of Woodsy Studio games. Keep an eye out for her next release, Serafina's Saga: Awakened, releasing March 19, 2024!

• Steam Visual Novel Fest Discount! - 7 August 2023

  To celebrate Steam Visual Novel Fest, Crimson Spires will be 50% off until August 14! Meanwhile, be sure to check out Woodsy Studio's other games on discount, and also enjoy a new demo release of Serafina's Saga: Awakened! Releasing 2024, Woodsy Studio's next otome-style visual novel follows the journey of a young woman from the jungle as she discovers her destiny to save a struggling kingdom.

  This build fixes the bug some players experienced in which text did not refill properly in box.

• New Game + Released! - 11 August 2021

  The new content you've been waiting for is here. Once you finish all four main romance paths with a happy ending, you can now play the fifth and final story path in a new branch called New Game +. Combine all the clues and relationships you have fostered thus far to help Erika make a final choice about the town of Bataille.

• New story path - coming soon! - 8 June 2021

  The time has come to drop our big Crimson Spires announcement! Later this year, we're releasing a whole new fifth story path that unlocks after completing the four main romances, called New Game Plus. This content will release at the same time the game drops on Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, and Xbox One, courtesy of EastAsiaSoft! In the New Game Plus, you can experience an alternative version of events in which Erika saves Bradley Jones from death and he becomes the town Sheriff. Obviously, I don’t want to tell you too much about the new content, so it can be a surprise! But I will say that involves a romance with Jones, polyamory, new revelations about Bataille, and what we feel is a solid ending for the game based on player choice. We don't have an exact release date for the new content just yet, but keep a lookout for the update coming sometime in the next few months!

• Minor update... but big news coming! - 21 January 2021

  Today's patch includes some minor bug fixes related to rollback, improved character fades, and a new option (added by popular request) to turn off film grain. Although we hope that most players will keep the default film grain effect--which is how the game is intended to be played--we realize that some players find it uncomfortable, so we have had added the option to turn it off. Meanwhile, keep your eyes out for some big news coming about Crimson Spires soon. For now I'll say this much: new Crimson Spires content is coming in 2021, and to many more platforms! More details coming soon ;)

• Crimson Spires Award Nominations - 25 November 2020

  As most of our players know, Crimson Spires was a long labor of love that endured many obstacles and cost us many tears. But all of that was worth it, because we poured our passion and craft into a game we are proud of, and we hope that its emotional significance and entertainment extends to its audience. The story of Crimson Spires was written by two graduates of the University of Southern California's esteemed Screenwriting program who then went on to write multiple novels and games. The Crimson Spires script is our biggest creation together at an overall length of 250,000+ words and our best collaboration yet. If you agree, please nominate Crimson Spires for the Outstanding Story-Rich Game Award!

  Greetings everyone! The Crimson Spires release day is fast approaching. For my beta testers out there, I'm happy to say that the August path is now ready for testing. • Crimson Spires Releasing Festival Demo - 11 June 2020

  Crimson Spires is an exciting otome-style visual novel with a unique blend of traditional VN romance, horror, and 3D exploration. When a ring of lethal towers rises around the mining town of Bataille, you (an FBI agent named Erika Wright) get trapped inside. Six months later, no one knows the fate of the outside world, where the towers came from, or if they'll ever escape. Now acting as Sheriff, you need a partner to help you find the truth, but you must choose between a former drug-addict, a serial killer, and two wealthy vampires. The full game will offer four large story romances depending on your partner of choice. Meet them all in the two playable sections provided by this new demo, releasing June 16 for the Steam Summer Festival!
