- Refreshing Demo Announcement - 1 October 2026
The demo gets an update on 19 OctoberSteam Next Fest opens on 19 October, and the demo updates the same day. Some things change, and some are coming back. The waterThe ocean rebuild we showed in DevDiary #6 goes into the demo. New surface, swell that actually moves the jet ski and the swimmer, and waterline transitions that hold together when your head drops below. Underwater, light now comes through from above, so depth reads as depth. It is the change you will notice first, because most of this job happens on the water or under it. New actions in the first aid kitThe first aid kit does more than it did. They thank you nowPeople you help no longer get up and walk off as if nothing happened. Day 2 is backDay 2 returns with the service duties back on the schedule, and more of them are on the way. The demo is Day 1 and Day 2 again. Changes across the beachThe map changes too, in several p…
- DevDiary #6: New Water, New Duties - 24 September 2026
New duty: the capsized yachtCentral Tower calls Code Red. A yacht has gone over offshore. Debris on the surface, people in the water, and not everyone got out of the hull. You take the jet ski out, and from there it is on you. Going under means diving beneath the hull and into the flooded cabin. Find them, get the rescue tube on them, bring them up. Then the standard procedure: the tow back, the run up the sand, airway check, rescue breaths, compressions, and the hope that nobody is still down there.https://youtu.be/isDkus1K4WoThe ocean got a full passA big part of lifeguard duties happens on the water or under it, so the ocean was the first thing we rebuilt for Early Access. New surface, swell that actually moves the jet ski and the swimmer, and waterline transitions that hold together when your head drops below the surface. Underwater, light now comes through from above, so depth read…
- Dev Diary #5: A Peek Above the Surface - 2 September 2026
This episode is about the wildlife itself. We have been building out marine life behavior: when, why and how varied species come and go along our coast, how they react to swimmers, and how a lifeguard on duty actually manages danger. Grab the binoculars and keep watch. Anything breaking the surface that looks off is worth a second look. A characteristic shape gliding just under the water means it is time to clear the area, not wait around to double-check if it looks hungry. Some early looks above, some quick look on gif below We are tuning how sharks move, how their fins read from a distance, and how much warning a sharp eyed lifeguard actually gets. And how much a distracted one does not. Not every animal on the beach is a threat though. There is more living above and below the surface than sharks, and the ocean itself is about to get a much nicer look too, more on that soon. Yours, Li…

- Dev Update: Hotfix and Demo Status - 19 August 2026
Following up on last week's word from Central Tower.Day 2 is staying in the workshop for now. Building it right takes more time than we want to rush.Day 1 stays as the heart of the experience.Alongside this, a small hotfix is going out: Fixed a bug with completing bars during the exam Added an "Esc" shortcut to the main menu to skip "What's New". It should allow Ultrawide monitors to start the game properly. One more thing worth saying plainly: this is the last patch for the demo. Central Tower is putting everything into Early Access from here. We aim to bring back day 2 to the demo closer to the release. If you've been playing the demo, thank you for putting it through its paces. Every bug report and clip helped shape what's coming next. Liked the demo? Wishlist the full game now: More news from the Central Tower soon. Yours, Lifeguard Team

No heatwave can stop us from making cool things. No lobbies, no waiting around. Just you, the clock, and whoever set the record you're chasing. New Pullups mechanics We're impressed by our players' sheer determination. We honestly didn't anticipate leaderboard scores climbing this high. We've seen it all: lightning-fast clicking, devices like a muscle massager propped on the spacebar, even straight-up autoclickers. You've got to admit, our players don't lack creativity. Thanks to that, we've been able to block most t…

- AI Isn't The Point. Dependency Is. - 18 June 2026
Over the last few years, conversations about AI have become impossible to avoid. Some people see it as the future. Others see it as a threat. Most discussions focus on what AI can do.We find ourselves asking a different question:What happens when people stop questioning systems simply because they are convenient? As game developers, we're fascinated by the relationship between technology and trust. Not because technology is inherently good or bad, but because people tend to accept systems they don't fully understand as long as those systems appear to work. That idea eventually became the foundation of a project we're currently working on: Future Sauce Dispenser.Future Sauce Dispenser is a dystopian satire set in the year 2145. In this world, humanity has become dependent on automated systems to the point where people can no longer function without AI-approved sauce. What begins as an absur…
- Developer's Diary #3: Exams, jet skis and the underwater world 🌊🚤 - 5 May 2026
Welcome to the third entry in the developer’s diary! The last few weeks have been incredibly busy. We’ve focused on two key areas: refining movement on the water (jet skis!) and creating a comprehensive Lifeguard Exam system to introduce you to the game world. 🚤 Jet Ski – Speed and Adrenaline We’ve added a fully functional jet ski to the game. It’s not just any old model – we’ve implemented dedicated ‘Arcade’-style physics to ensure the controls are responsive and a real blast to use. 🔹 New animations: Boarding in shallow and deep water, starting the engine, and dynamically jumping straight into a dive. 🔹 Visual effects: A new particle system (Water Splash) and a ‘splashed camera’ effect that enhances immersion during sharp turns. 🤿 What lies beneath the surface of the water? We’ve significantly expanded the swimming and diving system. You can now explore the ocean floor, which we’v…

Welcome to the second LifeGuard Simulator progress report! Being a lifeguard isn’t just about watching the water! 🔹 Setting up sun loungers: We’ve prepared a mission in which you must ensure the comfort of sunbathers by setting up 15 sun loungers in the correct rows. Each sun lounger has its own unfolding animation and unique sound effects. 🔹 A buoying mission: You must ensure the safety of the bathing area. You’ll set off in a boat to position and adjust the buoys in the water. We’ve made sure the buoys bob realistically on the waves. 🔹 Tidying up and logistics: Your first task is to clean the beach using a quad bike with a t…

Our goal is to give you everything that makes the work of a lifeguard so intense. Forget about sitting bored in the sun – we have prepared an arsenal of tools that will make you beach heroes. 👁️ Monitoring tools: Stay ahead of the threat The work of a lifeguard begins with your eyes. Before you jump into the water, you need to know where to look: ➡️Binoculars: Your most important tool. They allow you to monitor whether anyone is drifting too far away or whether something disturbing is happening on the horizon. ➡️Compass: The beach is huge. With it, you will always find your way back to base or quickly communicate your position. ➡️Whistle: Your voice from a distance. When you see someone breaking the rules, use your whistle. This is a clear…

- Shark Attack - 27 October 2021
What should lifeguards do during a shark attack? In the case of a shark attack, wherein the shark repeatedly bites or pursues a human, the water in the immediate area should be cleared of all swimmers and kept clear until it can be determined that the immediate threat is over.
