• Unity vulnerability hotfix - 4 October 2025

  Unity recommended a patch for a vulnerability in their player for windows and Mac OSX. This update contains that.

• Quantum Derelict Update 2 Hotfix 3 is live! - 1 January 2025

  This hotfix addresses a couple of bugs with events not finishing properly under certain circumstances (i.e. they are followed by another event) which results in escaping the black hole not awarding the Close Call achievement and a voice line not playing for the VUGSHERYOG event. If you have already beaten the game and did not unlock Close Call and want to, the easiest method is likely to just start a new game in another save slot and play til you get the black hole event. The other option is to keep playing your save til you get it, but events repeat very rarely so it could take a lot longer.

• Quantum Derelict Update 2 hotfix 2 for Steam Deck has been released. - 31 December 2024

  This hotfix patch 1.2.002 is only 3 fixes for some Steam Deck issues a user had on the forums. Mac was not updated since you cannot use it for Steam Deck so it will stay at 1.2.001 until the next update. Linux was all that needed updating but I updated windows just in case someone tried to play with proton. This fixes the issue where play button is not highlighted for controller when loading up to the main menu on Steam Deck. It also fixes a bug where choose local vs cloud on the main menu popup (if your saves conflict) will now select play properly on Steam Deck once the popup is dismissed. Finally it also has a fix for highlighting play when coming back to the main menu from a run on Steam Deck.

• Quantum Derelict Update 2 Hotfix 1 is now live. - 29 December 2024

  This hot fix addresses a bug where the Generate Pulse drone task is not available after unlocking it.

• Update 2 - Automation and Upgrades has been released! - 9 January 2024

  Update 2 for Quantum Derelict has been released which adds drone automation and upgrades! List of new features: Advanced Mining now will continue mining til one of three things occurs, the drone runs out of power, the drone runs out of storage, or there are no more resources of the type selected to mine. Advanced Salvage is now available that will allow Advanced Mining to search scanned derelicts and containers as well. New Automation Tasks that will perform the task until the drone runs out of power, resources, or the task is completed fully. • Update 2: Automation and Upgrades is coming soon. - 3 January 2024

  Happy New Year! We are fixing some final issues and doing testing on the new features and will release the update soon. I am posting today to give you a sneak peak at the update in case anyone wants to purchase the game on the steam event sale that ends soon and this helps them decide. As requested by players we have implemented a way to do some automation when it comes to drones but also some new upgrades that can be made. Advanced Mining will now keep going from debris to debris mining for the resource without your interaction until it runs out of power, storage, or resource to mine. Advanced Salvage is also a new task added that will upgrade Advanced Mining to also search derelict ships and containers to salvage any resources there as well. We have also added automation options for all of the normal stats upgrades to the ship like preparing food, generating water, repairing weapons,…

• Patch Version 1.0.002 - 14 July 2023

  1. This patch includes improvements and fixes to Steam Cloud for several issues some players are having with rare lockups and stale data. 2. Adds the ability to toggle steam cloud in settings under game tab when in main menu. 3. Adds a backup of local save when there is a conflict and you override local with cloud data. This also gives you a choice now to choose local over cloud or cloud over local when a conflict occurs.

• Updates to Version 1.0.001 - 6 July 2023

  -Fixed a non fatal error that can occur when jumping from certain horror events. -Lowered significantly the chance to have a drone vanish when force jumping. -Added more messaging around coordinates in Chapter 2 and 3. -Tweaked random number generation for coordinates to be less punishing in chapter 2 and 3. -Fixed text being restricted to the left side of the communications window.
