There’s also a variety of new hats and head shapes for avatars. Want to meet other players and join in on tournaments? Join our Discord! Happy New Year from Dream Nerdy!! We did however add some extra holiday cheer to this update so DiscBot will be looking a little more festive and you can now put a Santa Hat on your in-game avatar. Full patch notes are below. Happy Holidays from Dream Nerdy!! Patch notes v1.03: - Santa Hat added as a wearable item for your avatar! - DiscBot will now wear a Santa Hat every year during the holiday season! - Fixed font size for the Quick UI to properly fit “Next Player’s Turn” (and added the missing apostrophe to the font) - Solved bug that could be exploited to get unlimited birdies if you knew how - Fix for issues with multiplayer turn order when 3 or more players are on the card - Occasionally…
- v1.0 Update - 10 November 2021
In this big update we have some super exciting new stuff! First off, we’re finally making the jump to v1.0 with this version. We’re calling this the “Graphics Update” because the biggest noticeable changes are certainly in the graphics department. We really like the new look and we think you will too! Aside from that, we have some important quality life features such as adding running tally’s against par on the score cards. See the full patch notes below, and as always, if you have any feedback for us or would like to join in on the weekly weekend tournaments, please stop by our discord! Happy Disc Golfing!! Patch notes v1.01: - Graphics improvements: Better lighting and more defined shadows throughout the whole game. Some updates were made to shaders for better quality and colors on foliage. Terrain textures are more blended and natural for a more realistic look. Some terrain textures…
- Interactive Tutorial Update - 27 October 2021
In this update we have an exciting new development! An interactive tutorial was added with a new AI character. This is mostly for newcomers to the game, but the AI that we developed for the tutorial will also be used with new features in exciting future updates. Beyond that, we’ve done an overhaul to the visual design of all menus and UI elements throughout the game, as well as some graphical improvements throughout. As always, if you have feedback for us or would like to find players to play a match with, please join our discord! Patch Notes v0.47: - An interactive tutorial was added with a brand new in-game AI character that can throw discs (among other things). The usage of AI characters will be expanded upon in future game content and this is our first example of that. The tutorial is required to play through once and will automatically start when you load the game. It’s 5-10 minute…
- Physics Update - 30 September 2021
In this update we've included our fourth iteration of flight physics. It's a completely new system designed from the ground up to be much more dynamic and realistic than any of our previous updates. To further help with dialing in your throws we've included a new Power Meter attached to the FollowCam that will show you how close to perfect power you achieved. When you hit perfect power for a particular disc's speed rating the disc will perform the full desired flight path for that disc (just like in real life). If you're struggling to hit the perfect power you can adjust your throw power difficulty in the settings menu for ease of play. Also in this update there is a brand new home environment that fits in with the theme of disc golf. In the future, this new environment will also be the home for some new mini games, an interactive tutorial, and also used as a multiplayer lobby. Aside fr…
- Update v0.45 - 2 September 2021
In this update we have some important bug fixes and more quality of life changes. Please see the patch notes below for more details. As always, if you have feedback for us or would like to meet other players to play with, join our discord! v0.45 patch notes: - For out of bounds shots you will now be moved to the closest out of bounds flag from where your disc flew over the out of bounds line. For multiplayer your “teleport to current player” location will be at this adjusted spot as well. - For out of bounds shots the distance to basket reported in the UI will now reflect the location where you will be taking your next shot rather than where your disc landed out of bounds. For multiplayer, this correctly adjusted location will be used in the calculation for “who goes next” (should solve inconsistencies in turn order for multiplayer with OOB shots). - Disabled disc auto grab while the me…
- Update v0.42 - 11 August 2021
In this update we have some important bug fixes and nice quality of life changes. One thing is we fixed a bug introduced in the last update (Intuitive Disc Bag) that could effect game flow. A new excellent quality of life feature included in this is update that if your disc lands next to a tree you will take your next shot positioned slightly away from the tree - this prevents your disc bag from spawning in vegetation for your next shot. As always, if you have feedback for us or want to meet our community for multiplayer, stop by our discord :) Release notes for v0.42: - Solved a bug introduced with the intuitive bag changes that could potentially break game flow (symptom would usually be that discs would not highlight, hand animations would cease, and then the game could not proceed) - Your disc bag can no longer spawn inside a tree if your disc lands right next to one. You will instea…
- Intuitive Disc Bag Update - 9 August 2021
In this update we've improved the functionality of the disc bag so it will feel much less "touchy" and less of a precision operation. You can easily cycle through discs in your bag with your hand, and, the most appropriate disc for the shot will be auto-highlighted for you so all you have to do is press trigger and it will magically appear in your hand. Aside from that, we have some more multiplayer bug fixes and some slight physics tweaks. Release notes v0.41: - Disc physics changes: Increased Mid-Range and Driver distances. Slight increase to fade for longer thrown discs. Putters anhyzer is smoothed out with slight increase in putter distances. Discs thrown upwards now have a smoother transition with gravity application. - Bug fix for some cases where “disappearing/stuck discs” were possible in multiplayer. If you still encounter any multiplayer issues, please let us know in our disco…
- Shot Type Display Update - 6 August 2021
Another week has passed and we've got another update for you! In this weeks update we've added the Shot Type Display to the FollowCam. You will now see the type of shot that you obtained listed above the FollowCam as your disc is flying (ex. "Hyzer Flip", "Flex" etc). There are quite a few additional multiplayer bug fixes in this update as well as some performance improvements (especially on the latest 3 maps of the game). See the full patch notes below and as always, if you have feedback for us, join our discord and come tell us! v0.40 Patch Notes: - Further performance improvements, especially on the latest 3 maps of the game - Increased texture resolution for the most commonly used UI elements - Renamed “teleport to next shot” to simply be “Go To Shot” - Fixed distance and par listing for the signs on Sans Trap map - Added the name of the shot to the FollowCam (ex. “Hyzer Flip”, “Lon…
- Updates v0.32-v0.39 - 28 July 2021
Over the last month we’ve rolled out quite a few updates and wanted to share the patch notes with you so that you know what’s changed. The biggest change that you’ll probably notice is an overhaul to putter flight physics. Most of our beta testers agree that putters now feel much more natural to throw. Aside from that, there are a slew of visual changes, performance improvements, quality of life, user experience features, and general bug fixes. As always, we’d love to have you on our discord for your feedback to help us continue to improve upon the game! v0.32 - June 25th - Hot fix: bug resolved that could occasionally cause players to inadvertently get pushed in a direction and float away or move without moving v0.33 - June 27th - In-game UI will now always spawn in the correct place at the front of your playspace even while moving AND if moving before your shot has landed. The score c…
- Physics Overhaul 3 - 24 June 2021
We're always improving Off The Chains! In this major update we've overhauled all disc flight physics and flight paths. We developed a brand new flight physics system for putters that will feel a lot more natural to most users. The push-putt style of putting is now much more accurate. Mid-range and drivers are capable of much straighter longer shots than previously. In addition, we tweaked some game visuals and updated the baskets with new materials and branding. Additional quality of life, bug fixes, and performance improvements were also made. We hope you enjoy it. Stop by our Discord and let us know what you think! 0.31 release notes: Overhauled all disc flight physics and flight paths (Physics Overhaul 3) New putting flight physics that feels more natural New basket branding and materials Improved object/grab highlight effect In-game UI is now always aligned with the forward directio…
- Multiplayer Bug Fix Update - 12 May 2021
We know that the best part of disc golf is playing with your friends, so, in this update we have fixed the vast majority of bugs that negatively affected multiplayer play with your friends. This update also includes another nice performance boost. Happy disc golfing! We're happy to have your feedback on it, too! If you'd like to come talk to us, feel free to hop into our discord and tell us about it! Release Notes: - Performance: drastically reduced vRAM usage which will improve performance but especially on GPU’s with 4GB or fewer of vRAM. - Fixed a bug that caused you not to be able to create or join a new match after quitting or finishing a multiplayer match (you no longer need to restart the game to keep playing multiplayer) - Fixed issue with multiplayer games not being able to finish sometimes. The final scorecard and winner of the match is displayed for all participants upon comp…
- The Hill Update - 4 May 2021
Hi Everyone! We have a very exciting update for OTCDG! In this update Is our first map expansion, which includes 3 new maps of varying difficulty. These maps have quite a few hills which make for some challenging and fun shots. You are also now able to turn the FollowCam on or off in the settings menu (it will be on by default). To celebrate this new update we will be putting the game on sale at 25% off for the next two weeks starting May 4, so, if you have any friends you'd like to invite to play multiplayer, now is the time! In addition, we’ve vastly improved game performance (especially for lower tier equipment). First and foremost, we spent a lot of time on this aspect of the game for our PC VR players, but, we also hope to bring the game to other platforms in the future and these performance improvements are key to being able to do that. We fully intend for this game to be cross-pl…
- After-Release Physics Update - 24 November 2020
As game developers, an amazing thing happens after you release a game (if you’re lucky). Hundreds or thousands of players all of a sudden have access to your game and you receive lots of feedback in a very short amount of time. Even though we held a private beta with over 70 amazing beta testers it could not have come close to the floodgates of real world feedback that we received, and, we heard you! We’ve been hard at work over the last couple weeks improving the game’s physics and other aspects. Today we’re happy to announce that this update is live on Steam. We’re not done though - we will continue to improve and iterate as time goes on. If you have feedback for us, please Join Our Community on Discord and come talk to us 😀! You can also meet new friends and coordinate with others for multiplayer games. We have dedicated channels for disc flight physics feedback, bug reports, and fe…

Additionally, we plan to rebrand from "Disc Golf: Off The Chains" to "Off The Chains Disc Golf". Over the course of the next few…
