• Wolf and Hood to be removed from Steam - 2 February 2024

  It is with regret that I have to inform you that The Adventures of Wolf and Hood will soon be removed from Steam. I have not been able to sell enough copies to cover the banking costs required to continue selling the game, so I have no option but to remove it from sale. I hope you understand.

• Reshuffle pieces mid-game added - 2 January 2021

  There has always been the option to restart a completed puzzle but I have now added the ability to reshuffle loose puzzle pieces mid-game. I was initially reluctant to add this ability because if the player had spent a long time organising pieces and then accidentally reshuffled them it would ruin all that hard work. But it is undeniably useful to have that option available in certain situations where many pieces lay on top of each other and you want a quick way to spread them all out again. So I decided the best way to do this was to add a confirmation screen after clicking the reshuffle button, to give the player a chance to cancel the reshuffle if they clicked the button accidentally. • Quality of life features added - 21 December 2020

  Today's update contains a couple of quality of life improvements that I think will make the game a little more enjoyable to play. First up, you can now choose which mouse button to hold in order to pan the play area around when zoomed in. The new drop-down can be found in the settings panel on the left, just select between the default left button or the new right button options. Secondly, there is now a new button in the lower left corner of the screen that can be used to attract all loose pieces in towards the puzzle frame. Each click of the button pulls the pieces half way in towards the frame from where they started. Clicking again will pull them in by half of the remaining distance again, and so on, until all the loose pieces are clustered just outside the puzzle frame. • Screen and graphics options update - 19 December 2020

  Wolf and Hood was designed around the assumption that the majority of screens nowadays have an aspect ratio of 16:9, so things like the UI layout and how the puzzle pieces scatter at the start of a new puzzle were optimised for that aspect ratio. However, I also considered the possibility that some screens will be more square (e.g. 4:3 or 16:10) or more rectangular (e.g. 21:9) than the default so I did make sure that the UI and scattering pieces would still work with those other aspect ratios. Even so, the launch version of the game didn't handle those other aspect ratios quite right when it came to the resolution dropdown options, so for non 16:9 screens that dropdown was sometimes left blank.
