• Ballsy! World Cup 2020 v1.5 update - PS4 controller fix - 13 January 2023

  By compiling with the latest Unity version, a controller issue was fixed. I also made a little gameplay change: if you accelerate from walk to sprint speed, it would only do so in the direction you were currently moving in. This was a deliberate gameplay choice to force players to have the player change direction first, before they fully accelerated. However, I have changed my mind since, as I feel the downside weighs too heavily: it doesn't feel very intuitive. If you preferred the old way a lot more, let me know, I'll put the previous build in a separate branch as an option! If you notice any regressions with this build, let me know! • Ballsy! v1.4 with easier gamepad setup - 21 December 2020

  Many players were rightfully complaining that the controller setup screen was vague at best. This was hard to fix without migrating to Unity's new Input System, which meant a complete overhaul of my input code. This should result in better input configuration, but unfortunately also means that any custom button setup had to be reset, so if you aren't using the default settings, you will have to reconfigure your button settings. I'm sorry about that! This is quite a big update from a technical perspective, so if you have any issues, make sure to share them on the discussion board, or as a reply to this message! Furthermore, I've separated the pass and shoot button, by popular request. The default settings have them separated now, but if you prefer the old single-button pass/shot, you can still set it up that way. • Ballsy! now available on Linux! - 12 December 2020

  Linux gamers don't have to wait any longer to get their fix of fluent passing play! Let me know in the replies or on the discussion boards if you're having any issues - hopefully none! Other updates for this version include a refurbished team select/setup screen, which should fix some issues for people playing as player 2, and some more small bugfixes. • Ballsy! update adds nighttime matches - 13 November 2020

  Though the release of Ballsy! World Cup 2020 was successful, many players reported playing in the daytime gave them a bad case of sunburn. And so, management decided to add random nighttime fixtures to the schedule. Teams can also specifically request to play in the day or night at all times, by setting the relevant 'match time' slider in the match options menu. The rendering pipeline has been restructured to support for this lighting update; if you bump into graphical issues, please let me know on the discussion boards!

• Ballsy! update adds momentum slider - 1 November 2020

  I've added a momentum slider to the match settings menu. Lower settings will make the players feel heavier, making for a more tactical game. Higher settings will be preferable if you like the game to test your reflexes. This update also includes some minor gameplay fixes, the most noticeable being that players will now do their best to not collide with their teammate on the ball, which was quite an annoying issue! Well, actually, not much more, really, that's pretty much it. Yes, it's a simple, small ballgame. Do you have a problem with that? Why are you looking at me like that?
