- Patch 1.0.7 - 1 December 2023
Hi :) The game is now working again! I'm so sorry for not having seen this earlier. What happened is that the URL associated with the db no longer exists. I switched everything to a new URL and added some performance improvements to the game. Peace & Love, Patrick
- 666 Confessions! - 3 March 2022
Some made me laugh. Some made me cry. Some left me shocked. Some made me want to hug you. Thank you for the insights into your lives and for providing different perspectives. If you like the experience Confessions provides, please leave a positive review so more people will be able to discover it.
- Patch 1.0.6 - 4 January 2022
Hi :) I added a new option: Windowed Mode This will allow you to freely resize the game and move it around your screen. This took me way longer than expected because I encountered some scaling issues but I hope everything works fine now. Please let me know if you encounter any more bugs, have feedback or suggestions here. Peace & Love, Patrick
- Patch 1.0.5 - 3 January 2022
Happy New Year everyone :) I fixed a bug that caused the game to not be properly displayed on 4k resolutions. Please let me know if you encounter any more bugs, have feedback or suggestions here. Peace & Love, Patrick
- Patch 1.0.4 - 10 December 2021
Hi! :) I've added a trigger warning that gets shown the first time you start the game. Additionally I fixed a bug that sometimes caused Windows to display the game as unresponsive when you start it the first time. Please let me know if you encounter any more bugs, have feedback or suggestions here. Peace & Love, Patrick
- Patch 1.0.3 - 6 December 2021
Hi! :) The game now displays the correct font as seen in the store pictures! This is rather embarrassing lol I always had a feeling I forgot something important. Turns out it was to embed the fonts in the game. 😬 Thank you very much to mugwumpt for making me aware of this issue! Peace & Love, Patrick
- Patch 1.0.2 - 25 August 2021
Hi! :) This patch brings a few minor fixes that were brought to my attention by Psyringe. 16:10 resolutions now have a proper fullscreen Texts in the options menu will no longer be cut off when having increased text size in Windows settings. Added a few more words to the autocorrect that were falsely being corrected before. If you encounter any more bugs or have any feedback, please report it here on the Steam discussions. And if you like the experience, please leave a review so more people will be able to discover it.
- Patch 1.0.1 - 20 August 2021
Hi! :) I fixed a bug that would only show you newly accepted confessions when starting the game for the second time after I had approved new confessions. Luckily I caught this today already and it will only concern a few people. So, if you've played Confessions yesterday, started it up again today and saw the prompt "x new confessions available" before this patch was released it would be best to delete all files in this folder: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Confessions This means you will encounter some of the previously read confessions again. I apologize for the inconvenience. I've also added a few simple achievements for reading confessions since I figured people would be asking for it anyways. ^^ Thank you so far to everyone who has been leaving confessions! :) If you encounter any more bugs or have any feedback, please report it here on the Steam discussions. And if you like th…
- Confessions Now Available! - 19 August 2021
Hi! :) Thank you very much to everyone who has participated in the Playtest the past months. We have now gathered over 150 confessions and I think it's time to release this out into the wild! Confessions was the logical follow-up to my first game TOMORROW DON'T COME (TDC) for me. After sharing my story, I now give you a platform to share yours. The idea for Confessions had been born about 7 years ago but all the prototypes had failed because my vision had been too complicated. Eventually I stripped the core idea of allowing players to share their stories way back to only text, which goes so well with how I went about with TDC. At first I wanted to release Confessions for free, but there was already a large amount of spam during the open Playtest phase, where everyone who'd stumble upon the game would get granted access. I really didn't want to imagine how much more that would be when th…
- Playtest #2 Update #2 - 29 April 2021
Bug fix update ^^ Fixed bug where some confessions would have no name Fixed bug on resolutions lower than 1080p where confessions would appear to be cut off Added volume to the options and rearranged the screen Fixed some other minor bugs here and there Peace & Love, Patrick
- Playtest #2 Update #1 - 22 April 2021
A very quick hotfix because some things just broke when uploading to Steam: Music will now loop continously in READ section Prevented clicking on ⸸ before a confessions is fully loaded Prevented clicking on ⸸ during fade in I'll take care of the other reported bugs ASAP but wanted to get this update out beforehand. Peace & Love, Patrick
- Playtest #2 - 19 April 2021
Hey! =) Thank you to everyone who has left a confession during the past few months!
- Playtest #1 Update #3 - 8 December 2020
Just a small update this time: Fixed some problematic code that could have caused crashes on first startup Added a notification when hovering over READ that it is currently deactivated (after I got one too many insults that it's not working...) To everyone who had experienced a crash on first startup: Could you please (after downloading the latest update) delete the following folder and then start the game again. Let me know if you still experience the crash. I couldn't reproduce it on my end but I hope I found all potential causes for it. C:/Users/USERNAME/AppData/Roaming/Confessions Some more numbers: 191 people have been granted access to the playtest and we're now at 23 confessions. Keep it going! :) Peace & Love, Patrick
- Playtest #1 Update #2 - 3 December 2020
Update time! Updated "submit" sfx New background music for WRITE section New Option: autocorrect as suggested by EvolGrinZ!
- Playtest #1 Update #1 - 27 November 2020
First of all: thank you to everyone who has submitted one or more confessions already! If the quality keeps up being this high this is gonna be an amazing experience! :) I fixed a few little things this morning: "We hear you... start typing." can no longer be accidentally submitted as a confession. It's no longer possible to click the "next page"-button after submitting a confession without having filled up the whole page. Fixed a bug where the "submit"-button would stay grey after switching pages. Added the option to press ESC to got back to the title screen. Out of the 150 people who have now access to the playtest, 7 confessions have been submitted. We are gonna need a lot more confessions before this can be released. So be prepared for the game to be released a bit later than December most probably. Peace & Love, Patrick
- Playtest #1 - 25 November 2020
Hey everyone! =) Welcome to Playtest #1 for Confessions. This playtest focuses mainly on gathering confessions ahead of launch. This is why the "READ" section is deactivated right now. And why there are almost no options. They will come. ^^ How can you participate in the playtest? Click "Request Access" on the store page: Thank you to everyone participating in this first playtest and please let me know about any bugs you encounter or feedback you may have here. Peace & Love, Patrick
