- Rotund Takeoff Update 1.2 - 30 April 2022
A number of general Rotund tweaks and fixes have been found since Rotund Takeoff's 1.1 update, so we've brought it up to speed now that both Rotund Rebound and Rotund Zero are concluded! These are all pretty subtle and technical changes, so the main point of interest would probably be the modernization of the Elite Flag threshold leniency system to match Rotund Rebound and Rotund Zero. Previously we'd set Elite thresholds by taking our dev times and manually adding a bit of leniency while rounding them up to a pretty number. Now they're determined automatically by adding a set leniency to the direct time, making it more consistent and easier to figure what the actual dev time was. This also means nearly all Elite thresholds in the game have changed by a few frames, mostly for the looser as our previous normal level leniency was roughly 250ms and we've now made it 300ms to match RR. - Rotund Takeoff Update 1.1 - 30 April 2021
It's been a while! That certainly wasn't the plan. The plan was to swiftly port Rotund Takeoff to Nintendo Switch and release soon after PC. Early test builds looked encouraging, but then we got held up by some pesky technical difficulties that set us back by about two months. Ouch! Happy to report those issues are behind us now, and we've brought the PC up to date with Version 1.1, available right now! To celebrate, it's on sale for the weekend! Changelog Changes: Replaced the Sleep Bears with new Marvin booths for clarity and consistency. Lowered the required number of gold medals on the original Marvin booths to match those of the silver. Moved the Sleep Bears to block the 8-Balls, and they won't move until that world is ranked silver or better. Due to world map changes, your current position on the world map will be set back to 1-1 after updating. Changed the medal designs from -, =…

- Rotund Takeoff Release Day! - 21 January 2021
Well, here we are, the big day! It's been quite a while now since Dahku announced our return to game development, but we finally have a new release. After this long, releasing on different platforms, and in an industry that's changed a lot, it pretty much feels like our first release ever. Given that, you'd think we'd have a lot to say on this occasion, but well, we don't really. We're happy with how Rotund Takeoff has turned out, and as a remake it directly shows how far we've come. We're grateful to the small but faithful community that's stuck with us, and grateful to the handful of news sites and influencers who've helped spread awareness. If Rotund Takeoff looks interesting to you, please do give it a chance! There's a 15% off launch discount for the first week. We hope you'll enjoy it, and that you'll want to follow along as we continue developing the epic sequel, Rotund Rebound!
- Public Beta Updated! - 9 January 2021
Rotund Takeoff's public beta has been updated to 0.9! This should be the last update before the game releases on the 21st. The beta will be going away before then, so be sure to check it out if you haven't yet! New: - The default checkpoint option will be "Delete" if you exit in the middle of a world challenge and hop right back in to start over within 5 seconds. Accidentally hitting "Resume" in that situation was pretty much the worst thing ever, and we'll have no more of it. - Proper recognition for the PS5 DualSense controller. We think; we've yet to obtain a controller from the white whale to confirm, so do give us a shout if you try it out and run into issues. :) Changes: - Several Elite Flag rank thresholds have been tightened. You may lose some flags if any of these happened to tighten beyond your already-glorious times, but if we can do it, you can do it too! - Assigned a defaul…
- Release Date + Public Beta - 30 December 2020
Sorry it's been a while, but it's no secret that our more frequent updates happen in Discord. https://discord.gg/Dt9rezQ If you're not in there already, now's the time; we're running a public beta, so stop in and request a key! You'll have access to the finished game in its entirety, from now until shortly before launch on January 21st, 2021! We really wanted to release Rotund Takeoff this year, but scheduling didn't favor us, so having the full game playable is the next best thing. We hope to see you there!
- Demo Updated! - 19 October 2020
If you're looking for a TLDR, the title was it. We've updated the demo with: - official opening cut scene graphics - official music in the bonus level, and tweaked results music - Steam Cloud functionality for your save data - adjustments to some of the rank times - Linux & macOS versions - various minor tweaks
- Demo Here to Stay, Updates Coming! - 14 October 2020
And so concludes another Steam Game Festival! Compared to Rotund Rebound's numbers in the Summer edition, Rotund Takeoff actually did much better on the downloads—but even less actually got around to playing it. That implies there were a lot of players interested enough to download it, but lacking in time or opportunity over the course of the festival. In view of that, we've decided to leave the demo up indefinitely! We'll also continue to update it as we work on the main project to improve rough spots like the placeholder opening cut scene graphics. Whether you grabbed it during the festival or are coming in late, we hope you'll give it a go! If you find it's up your alley, be sure to come by our Discord to say hi, share your thoughts/records, and grab the exclusive spinoff title, Rotund Zero!
