• Version 1.2.1 Release - 23 May 2026

  We made some improvements to dialog to make it flow better, and fixed a few typos. We also fixed a few rare bugs that would cause the UI to show the wrong text.

• Version 1.2 Release - 1 October 2021

  We thought a few things needed improvement so we went ahead and made them! We added new decor to better reflect the game's story and just look better overall, more dialog options to get to know characters more, and a few other improvements to keep you on your toes throughout the game. Now is a great time to solve the mystery of Durhal if you haven't already!

• Version 1.1.0 Release - 14 January 2021

  This version includes several small fixes and QoL changes. Undead in the depths made more blind and also more visible to the player. This should make it easier to navigate those dark tunnels. From Previous versions: Fixed issue causing speed-runners not to trigger events occasionally. Fixed a few capitalization issues. FIxed an issue with a special bag appearing (or not appearing) unintentionally. Fix issue with player being able to move sometimes when it was not intended. Fixed graphics glitch in a particular spot. April will no longer trap you against the wall. Thank you for your feedback and contributions to making Black Chapter the best game possible.

  This version includes several small fixes and QoL changes. Added some hints (no spoilers here!). Made certain small objects much easier to interact with. Should nerf player frustration by 90%. Fixed an issue with Emilie's name tag displaying the wrong name in a certain situation. Fixed a few text-related errors (ex. succubuses -> succubi). Fixed a bug with an unnecessary music pause near the end of the game. This new version should fix all known bugs. If you find any other bugs, please post them on the bug thread. • Black Chapter Release - 24 October 2020

  Black Chapter is now officially released! Thank you all for your feedback and support! We also did a round of fixes that should make gameplay a lot smoother. Reduced silence time in-game by around 40%. We received a lot of feedback about this. You'll be hearing the background soundtracks more often now.
