We have updated Geneforge 1 - Mutagen to v1.0.3. This patch fixes a number of smaller issues and completely reworks how the game is drawn and animated. Includes full screen scaling and magnification options for those with vision issues. Enjoy! Version 1.0.3 Patch Notes - October 1, 2025The Geneforge engine now supports proper monitor scaling, and everything should be drawn at a much more legible and attractive size. In Settings, you can toggle between Fullscreen and Windowed mode. You can also set magnification to zoom the view in or out.Animations should be much smoother.A longstanding Mac issue with corrupted screenshots should be fixed.A variety of minor improvements and typo fixes.

We have launched the Kickstarter for our next game, and we're thrilled to finally return to the world of Avernum! Avernum 4: Greed and Glory will be an epic, indie, turn-based fantasy role-playing adventure for Windows, Mac, and iPad. It continues the saga of Avernum, a nation in caverns far under the world, full of misfits, adventures, treasures to be found, and monsters to hunt (and that hunt you). It will be a remaster of the indie RPG cult-classic Avernum 4, which came out way back in 2005. We have launched a Kickstarter for our next title, a full remaster of Geneforge 2, released wayyyy back in 2003. Geneforge 2 - Infestation will be the second chapter in the reborn Geneforge Saga. We want to go over it and redo everything, adding new characters, quests, monsters to create, and training paths to scorch (or save) the mountains of Drypeak. We’re really excited about the remasters. The first one, Geneforge 1 - Mutagen, is our best-selling game in a long time, and its follow-up will have a lot of fun new stuff to keep the series fresh for newcomers and old fans alike. The Kickstarter will run for a month, and it has a mix of old and new stretch goals and rewards. The first update, to fix a bunch of stuff: - A host of typo fixes and minor tweaks. - A number of exploits have been fixed. Sorry! - Endurance is now cheaper and gives you more health at higher levels. - Dante’s Guile now helps with operating more sorts of machinery. - Some early Leadership checks are easier. - More Leadership checks give experience. - Glaahk stings now do magical damage. - Changing sound volume in Settings has clearer results. - Errors in some endings have been corrected. - Battle Betas you create are now a little stronger. - Background sounds are slightly louder. Steam trading cards should now be dropping.
