We will be updating to GME version 0.8.9 on Monday, August 5th. This update involves moving from Unreal Engine 4 to Unreal Engine 5, which allows for increased performance, graphics, and gameplay. If you are unable to complete this before Monday, don't worry! A public branch of the old version of GME will be available on Steam, allowing you to save your maps at a later time. To save your maps, follow these steps: 1. Open your map in GME 2. Click on the "Options" icon 3. Select "Save" as you normally would 4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for all maps you wish to port over 5. This grid appears on tiles and all landscape objects (like rocks and such) when turned on, and follows the terrain if that terrain was built either out of objects or from tiles. The feature can be turned off and on by each player individually. - A bug was removed where deleting such an object would leave a residue grid in the world. - To update the grid after changing objects in other ways (moving, scaling, etc.), the grid needs to be turned off and on again (for performance reaso…

  • Anniversary Update v0.8.4.1 - 9 March 2024

New Features Simple Shape Texture (GM Version Only) You can also use simple shapes to force a texture from one object to another object. This does work with every object. It’s an advanced feature, and some textures might not fit on every object, but it unlocks a whole new world of creativity! We added this feature to remove all restrictions on coloring options. In contrast to the custom model importing, you can also use this as often as you want on a given map, since it does not impact performance. Prop Importing with Simple Shapes You can now also use Simple Shapes to import your own Props in the FBX, OBJ or STL format. To do so, control-click a simple shape and hit the little red button at the top, then follow the instructions. Keep in mind that players have to have the model too in order for this to show up, so this is rather for private campaigns. This is analogue to the mini import…
