  • Patchnotes V3.66 - 17 January 2026

Game:The behaviour of monster portals during attacks has been improved and a bug has been fixed that occurred when shooting at the portal from a long distance. Everything should now work as it should. Some minor bugs in the dialogue scripts have been fixed. Some errors in the English translation have been corrected. The damage and speed values for some weapons have been slightly changed to improve balance.

  • Patch Notizen V3.65 - 29 March 2025

Game Optimization of the code for sorting items into the network of crafting chests, which previously led to a short pause in the game, especially with a large number of chests. Many small improvements in the DLC The Sky Fortress. Including dialogs, cutscenes, quest items that are difficult to discover, etc.. Some active volcanoes (with flames) you could destroy with the pickaxe (with unpredictable consequences), which is no longer possible. However, the small passive volcanoes can be hacked open as before to create lava fields. The toolbox in the tutorial can now be picked up without an axe Some info texts have been added to items and tools. A missing greeting from an NPC has been added. In the DLC The Sky Fortress, the chickens no longer wanted to lay eggs. This has been fixed. Fixed the walking animation of an NPC.

  • Patch Notes V3.64 - 23 March 2025

Game: The teleport stone in the DLC The Desert now always leads to a field in the settlement, as the stone circle is far outside and the paths are too long as a result. In the DLC The Desert and also later in the game, you can now place a magic fountain directly on a water gutter or water gutter crossing. The magic fountain will then fill the entire connected network of water gutters with water once every night, provided it still has enough water. This saves the player from having to tip endless buckets of water into the water gutter :-) ! In newly built stables there is now a sign that shows how many animals are housed in the stable (hold right mouse button to read). This change affects newly started games or savefiles that have not yet been updated to V3.6. The name of the “Shield” spell has been changed to “Shield Spell”, as this makes it clearer that it is a spell and cannot be conf…

  • Patch Notes V3.63 - 18 March 2025

Game: The plant feeling info window has been changed so that in case of deficiencies it only shows that growth is stagnating. Only when the plant or tree is about to die (2 or 5 days) due to deficiencies will the exact remaining days be displayed. The reason for this is that some players were very irritated by the display “dies in XX days”! As temperature and light differences occur again and again, it is normal for a plant to stagnate in growth for a day, even if the conditions are mostly good. The new display makes it clearer when action is really needed. Bugs: In the DLC The Desert, the volcanoes erupted far too rarely due to a recent update in the game. This has been fixed. At the start of the DLC The Desert there was no lava eruption, which prolongs the start of the game there. A serious bug has also crept in when destroying the portals with bombs in the DLC The Desert. This has gr…

  • Patchnotes V3.62 - 10 March 2025

Game: The reminder quest for the summer festival now displays an info text at the beginning of the day, just like the auctions, so that you don't miss the event. The Growth spell no longer works on dead plants or plants that do not grow at all during the season. For plants that do not bloom during the season, it only allows the plant to grow to the ‘fully grown’ stage. Algae are now completely harvested during the picking process. With the magic basket and the magic sickle, it is now sufficient for a plant in the harvesting area (3x3 fields) to be ripe in order to use the tool. Previously, you always had to centre the area on a plant that was ready for harvesting. Any information such as (germinates in X days) still only refers to the selected field. After a time jump at a shrine, the collected info texts for natural events and other things that were spent in time and are no longer impo…

  • Patch Notes V3.61 - 1 March 2025

Game: All reminders of one-time events (cutscenes) are now in the side quests section, while the hints section is now only for the annual festivals and events and for info about merchants. This should be clearer. Bugs: The lava plant seeds no longer wanted to germinate on the lava due to lack of water. This is now working properly again. The icon of the fire magnet spell was not displayed correctly in all three levels. This has been fixed.

  • Content Update V3.6 - 28 February 2025

Highlights: There are two new questlines and new cutscenes centred around the construction of two new buildings in Woodhome. The new buildings are two museums one for gems and one for farming for the community in Woodhome. There are numerous great rewards for completing the collections. Contact person is Eugenia after the initial cutscene with Nira and Tom after the Museum of Agriculture was opened. A gypsy family regularly visits Woodhome and sets up their stand in front of Tiffany's café. They offer goods that cannot be bought anywhere else. However, the selection and quantity is limited and varies with each visit. The contact person for the introductory quest is Tiffany after you have had breakfast with her. Introduction of two new crafting stations. The first is the cheese press and the second is the loom. Both are used to process animal products. There are also numerous new recipes…

  • Spring update for Behind the Horizon - 12 February 2025

It's almost time again! In a few weeks the new version V3.6 will be released on Steam and it will be a big update. Actually almost a DLC in terms of content ... and completely free for you :-) ! Besides the usual balancing and small changes in the gameplay, there will be new NPCs, new quests, new buildings in Woodhome, new plants, a new spell and much more. I'm already looking forward to presenting the update to you. The release will be between the end of February and the beginning of March, just before the next Steam Sale event. If you don't have the game or the DLCs yet, you can buy everything together with a discount :-) !

  • Patch notes V3.51 - 7 November 2024

Game Added a shadow (3x3) under giant trees to show the area where the light intensity is reduced. The effects of magic shadows and light crystals have also been made visible. The old version, where all light was reduced or increased when standing on a field with a light crystal, has been removed. This has also slightly increased the luminosity of colours throughout the game. More rewards for completing the Monster Hell have been added. The recipe for the light harvest ladder has been changed so that you can build the ladder earlier in the game. Bugs The option to travel to the Monster Hell was offered by the game a little too early, as in the unlikely event that you master Monster Hell at this point of the main quest, an NPC will no longer be available later. The corresponding quest is now only available later.

  • Update V3.5 - content update - 29 October 2024

Highlights: - 1 new annual village festival in Woodhome - the truffle pig including 3 new recipes using truffles - the story mode for ‘combat grouches’, which makes fighting in the caves even easier - the option to vary the length of the day - a new plant: the honeydew melon - plus the usual improvements and bug fixes, which you can read about in detail in the patch notes below. Patchnotes V3.5 Game: Another annual village festival in Woodhome has been added to the game: the spring flower festival. The contact person for this is Tiffany. Introduction of the story mode, which can be activated at any time in the options. Story mode makes fighting in the caves much easier. Note: Survival and Story Mode cannot be combined. Introduction of the option to change the length of the day between normal and slow in the options at any time. With ‘slow’, a day lasts about twice as long as with ‘norma…

  • Patch notes V3.41 - 9 August 2024

Game: - the in-game on-screen keyboard is now also displayed correctly on the SteamDeck - the ingame manual is now also displayed correctly on the SteamDeck - the game is now playable on the SteamDeck - the game can be fully operated with the controller Known issues: If you interrupt the game by pressing the Steam button, it freezes and has to be restarted. If you notice any other problems, please post them in the community section of the game on Steam.

  • Update V3.4 - The monster hell - 21 June 2024

Highlights: In this update, the game gets a new quest line including an extensive cave system called "The Monster Hell", which is suited for players in the last third of the main game. The fights in it are and should be very challenging and the whole area is for players who love such challenges. I have created 6 new unique bosses for the Monster Hell. There are exciting rewards for those who make it through, but everything is optional and not required for the main story. You have to try different strategies for the battles and each of the caves is different. There is no option to save or teleport in the caves. Above all, you should ensure that you always have high resistance values and other buffs active. The start of the quest series begins with Sophie towards the end of chapter 3 at the earliest. Talk to her again and again. There are numerous tips for mastering the Monster Hell in th…

  • Jadawin plays Behind the Horizon - LIVE - 26 April 2024

Behind the Horizon LIVE On the occasion of the Steam Festival for farming games, I have decided to broadcast some live streams for you, in which I play my game and thus give you a better overall impression of the gameplay. There will be at least five live stream events in total and each one will be about an hour long. Some will have a bit of commentary, but the main point is to show the game as it is. Here is the overview of the times (Central Europe Time) and the topic : Friday 3.5 -> 7 pm Farm life and quests in endgame Saturday 4.5 -> 8 pm Excursions to the caves and Preview to the Monster Hell (Update June) Sunday 5.5 -> 7 pm Tutoriial New Game (tutorial) in survival mode with german commentary You can either watch the broadcast on the game's store page: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1453430?beta=0 or in the community area: https://steamcommunity.com/app/1453430/broadcasts/

  • Update V3.3 - New Farm Maps - 21 April 2024

Highlights: In this update, 2 alternative farms and starting areas and the survival mode are added to the game. All three farms play differently and offer a new gaming experience. Ideal for a second or third playthrough. Details below! Survival mode can be added and changes the gameplay even more. It can only be selected at the start of the game and only works in connection with the "Volcano Farm". This mode is intended for experienced players and is full of challenges. It should be chosen with care. Patch notes V3.3 Game: When starting a new game, you can now choose one of three starting areas. All three play very differently and invite you to play Behind the Horizon again. The new maps cover the entire area around the farm. The following options are available: - The Standard Farm: The standard farm offers a balanced landscape with lots of good farmland and enough woodland and water. T…

  • Update V3.2: Seasonal Events Part 1 - 31 March 2024

Seasonal events This update integrates the first four seasonal events into the game. I have greatly expanded the scripting language for cutscenes so that interaction within cutscenes is now possible. The first 4 seasons events are 4 auctions that take place once per season, each with a different theme. Different items are offered in the auctions each year and I hope that you will have a lot of fun bidding skilfully in the auctions and getting good prices. There will be more new events in future updates that make use of the new possibilities. Patch Notes V3.2 Game: - Introduction of the first 4 seasons events. Contact persons for the quests are Tiffany, Alfred, Marco and Nira. The new introductory quests are available early in the main game. Further information on auctions can be found in the in-game guide in the "Trade" section. - Monster training portals in the Star Forge have been mad…

  • Patch notes V3.1 - 22 November 2023

Nature simulation For a better understanding of the nature simulation and the interrelationships in farming, I have integrated some changes and a new window into the game. The new window opens automatically when you are about to plant seeds or plants in the ground and displays the values of the soil and plants and the local climate in detail and graphically. The game analyses this information and points out possible problems (for example: wrong soil, too few nutrients, temperatures too high, etc.). An exclamation mark means that it is not advisable to plant this plant here at this time. A question mark indicates possible difficulties (such as a longer growth phase and stagnation over a few days). A cross indicates that the conditions are completely impossible and a green check mark means that everything is fine. You can usually rely on this assessment. If you want to know more, you can…

  • Patch Notes V3.07 - 18 November 2023

Remark: In this update I've addressed a lot of small bugs and details that have piled up on my notes during my playthrough. Except for one bug, everything is not game-blocking and I can say that everything worked fine during my complete playthrough (main game + both DLCs). If you notice any bugs, please let me know in the community forum :-) ! In the next update I will once again try to improve the clarity of farming, as I still see that many players take a long time to understand the simulation on which the game is based. The plan is to show the important data summarised graphically at central points during the game. Of course, farming will never be as simple as in most other farming games, but it shouldn't be. Let yourself be surprised :-) ! Patch notes 3.07 Game: Farm animals are now more intelligent in their search for water and automatically avoid salty sea water. They also prefer…

  • Patch Notes V3.06 - 8 November 2023

Game: The area of the lion's special attack has been slightly reduced. The effect of the wolf's special attack was increased, In the DLC The Desert, a key in the labyrinth was made more visible because it was hard to spot on the floor (if you had destroyed the table the key was on). The food dispenser from the 1st DLC can now hold more food to withstand the hunger of lion and wolf. All stone walls now have a damage bar when they are damaged, which is shown whenever the player has a pickaxe equipped. In addition, stone walls can no longer be destroyed with normal weapons (except with ice spells). Magic Fragment and Consciousness Fragment deposits have also received a damage bar Sound: Some sound effects in the DLC The Desert were still in stereo format. This resulted in strange noises when something happened far away, because stereo sound does not allow positioning in space. Bugs: When d…

  • Patch Notes V3.05 - 19 October 2023

Game: The link for the new German video tutorials has been added. Bugs: When copying areas of the world, it was sometimes incorrectly displayed for a short time that you can grow something there. This has been fixed. Liam was not locked in his cell and the door was open. The cell is now locked as intended and must first be opened. In Sandhome the roof was not hidden when entering a house. This has been fixed.

  • Patch Notes V3.04 - 1 October 2023

Game: Battle companions could damage the player with their ranged attacks. This has been changed and the player is now immune to the area attacks of the companions. The game now automatically detects if it was started from the Steam Deck and activates Controller Mode by default.
