Cookie Clicker is now available on Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch! It is a full port of the PC game, published by our partners at Playsaurus. Language update Patch 2.053 adds support for the Norwegian and Danish languages on PC and Mac. This brings the game's language selection to 15 languages! To celebrate, we're going 40% off this week! One of the most addictive games on Steam, Cookie Clicker now has even more ways to joyously waste people's time - thanks to the efforts of other people. Yes, developer Orteil has confirmed full Cookie Clicker mod support via Steam Workshop - and there are already many mods of questionable nutritious value to choose from. Cookie Clicker has always been one of the best idle games around and helped pretty much establish the whole idea as a genre. Despite being around for almost ten years it finally launched on Steam in August this year. Cookie Clicker then quickly established itself as one of the most popular games on Steam. Developer Orteil just released version 2.043 and it's a pretty exciting one, as it now adds an infinite amount more ways to happily waste time - thanks to the inclusion of full mod support via Steam Workshop. - Cookie Clicker patch increases compatibility with cheats - 7 September 2021
Cookie Clicker is out on Steam, and the player counts are going up just like our cookie production numbers. But be sure to actually close the game every now and then, because there are patches to be downloaded, and the first of them is available today. One of the more notable changes in this version improves support for cheats. This patch fixes "possible audio-induced memory leaks associated with autoclicking", so you can safely make use of your automatic clicker. (It's a single-player game with no leaderboards, so who cares, right?) Developer Orteil says that Steam Workshop support is "underway as well since the local mods seem to be working good", so expect more non-standard ways of clicking cookies to be accessible soon. The game has already caught over 60,000 people in its addictive web, and heaven help me, I'm one. The Steam version of Cookie Clicker launched just last week, and has already reached 60,009 concurrent players, as SteamDB shows. That puts it in striking distance of Steam's top 10, just ahead of regular favourites like Civilization VI, Rocket League, and Rainbow Six Siege. If you were making regular use of the internet in 2013 or so, you probably had an obsessive few weeks with Cookie Clicker. It wasn't the first of its kind, but it helped establish idle games as a genre, and etched a pretty impressive spot in gaming history. Now it's coming to Steam with hundreds of upgrades, including music from C418, the composer behind Minecraft . This upgraded edition launches September 1 for $4.99 USD.
