- Pacific Drive: Best of the Summer 2026 AMA - 14 September 2026
Good afternoon drivers, breachers, and anomaly-hunting hopefuls!Ironwood has had a lot of fun doing community events like streams, devlogs, and Reddit AMAs. We also know that it’s hard to catch them live with all the real life everyone has going on - so we’ve curated a few of our favorite questions from the Summer 2026 AMA here for your enjoyment (and we might have snuck in something special towards the end.) Stormraughtz asked: I had an awesome time in the OEZ with our dearly beloved \ - I have to ask though, do you all still forget to set the car into park? And which sick individual came up with that idea? "We forgot often enough ourselves that we put in an upgrade that auto-parks the car! Also, the inverse - where you get in the car and slam the gas, despite still being in park - happened enough that we got ample testing across the team for the achievement to forget putting the car i…

Abiotic Factor is a favorite of with the Ironwood Studios team, and we've often played as a team over the last year - and they recently celebrated their 1.0 anniversary with a huge update. - Pacific Drive: Whispers in the Woods OST Now Available on Streaming Services - 10 April 2026
Take the tunes with you! All your favorite tracks from the Whispers in the Woods OST are available to stream now in your favorite apps. Award-winning composer Wilbert Roget, II delivers a foreboding score for Pacific Drive’s cultish expansion, Whispers in the Woods. Blending distorted pads, choral textures, and twisted percussion to reflect the cult’s unsettling presence. "When scoring games, I like to take influence from the art direction and colour scheme – it gives me a useful impression of the overall vibe of the world and setting. While the base game had a wide variety of green and brown forest colours, Whispers in the Woods featured lots of violent reds, reflecting the cult itself." - Wilbert Roget, IIIf you'd like to take at what's behind the music, our composer sat down with the folks from Laced to do a short interview about the process behind creating music for Pacific Drive. - Pacific Drive is an excellent driving sim with horror vibes, and you can get the full experience cheaper than ever - 25 March 2026
When a game delivers unique vibes, there's nothing better. Pacific Drive somehow effortlessly manages to create a Stalker or Chernobylite-style atmosphere, with supernatural happenings and survival mechanics, into a driving simulator. It sounds bizarre, and in some ways, it really is, but the blend is so natural that it's almost confusing how no developer has done this before. After years of major updates and a first expansion that amps up the horror tension, Pacific Drive is better than ever, and best of all, cheaper than ever. Read the rest of the story... - 2 Years of Road Trips Into the Olympic Exclusion Zone! - 23 February 2026
A short message from Ironwood Studios, to our spectacular players: Two years is an incredible amount of time to have spent driving through the forest, dodging anomalies, and repairing an old wood-paneled station wagon. As we enter our third year in the Zone, we want to appreciate and take note of what we accomplished together. Since its release, Pacific Drive has sold 1.5 million copies, and we’ve reached 3 million players worldwide. We’ve joined PlayStation Plus and (as a carefully planned surprise) Xbox Gamespass, growing the population of breachers in the Zone by the thousands. - Nominate Pacific Drive for The Steam Awards! - 27 November 2025
Breachers! It's been a huge year for everyone working on Pacific Drive. We took you on a never ending series of road trips with the Endless Expeditions free update in April, released a dozen patches that improved the quality of the game, and of course, introduced you all to Whispers in the Woods, our biggest addition to the game to date.Throughout this entire journey, we've listened to your feedback, watched streams, reaction videos, and loved the every day conversations from the community from our Discord. Some of you went above and beyond to solve a particularly tricky mystery right before the release of WITW! 👁️ The Steam Awards are currently upon us, and if you've enjoyed our company as much as we have yours, we would be honored if you're able to consider us for the "Labor of Love" award by clicking the checkbox above - as a small studio working on it's first game, it would mean th…

We saved your saves! Pacific Drive Hotfix Version 1.13.1 is available to download now on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S | X. Version 1.13.1 - HighlightsToday’s hotfix is laser focused on a few issues reported by the community this week! We’ve tackled the save loading issue, an inventory system bug, and some scary crashes caused by rogue garage elements. Before we get into the patch notes themselves, we do want to address a concern around file size that you’ve all expressed to us over the last few weeks, namely how large the update file sizes appear to be on PC and Console whenever a new patch or update to the game happens. To speak on it at a high level, sometimes patching the game involves a re-organization of the files and information that make up the entire game - it’s not possible to just pick and choose which ones are updated, and for safety, it’s easiest to deliver that re-orga…

- The scariest horror game I've played this year is actually DLC for 2024's best driving sim - 12 November 2025
It takes a lot for even the best horror games to really spook me. Put it down to a very early introduction to Resident Evil as a precocious preschooler, or my annual Halloween pilgrimage through Silent Hill 2. Either way, I've become so desensitized to the tricks of the horror game trade that even the most elaborate jumpscare has become rote. Instead, it's often games that aren't specifically horror that are the most likely to get me spooked, especially ones driven by emergent gameplay. That's where Pacific Drive comes in. - Pacific Drive - Version 1.11.2 Hotfix Patch Notes 11/06/2025 - 6 November 2025
Surprise! It’s a bonus Hotfix. We discovered an issue with the route planner that needed solving as soon as possible to get you all back out into the Zone and on the road.Version 1.11.2 - Negative Scanner charges and Getting Trapped in the GarageWe’ve just pushed a solution to help you keep from getting stuck in the garage due to negative scanner charges, and other route planning related issues. Today’s fix is live for all platforms - PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. Some players have gotten stuck with negative scanning charges when interacting with the route planner, and that's made it impossible to leave the garage entirely - because selecting a route is key to starting the journey from the garage. This was happening due to a difference in the number of charges between Whispers in the Woods maps, and the base game. If players attempted to scan the Whispers in the Woods nodes but did not leave…

- Pacific Drive just shadow dropped a haunting new DLC, turning the underrated survival game into nightmare fuel - 23 October 2025
Let me be clear, the base game experience of Pacific Drive can get really intense at times. While tinkering away on an old station wagon and decorating your garage with trinkets you scavenge from the surrounding forest sounds super relaxing, most of the time it's making you sweat. Able to lure you into exploring a few minutes more than you should, and quick to punish your complacency, it's earned a place on our best survival games list. While its freaky, mysterious anomalies can get your heart racing, its brand new DLC, Whispers in the Woods, takes things to new levels. With a darker tone, cults, and a new survival mechanic, Pacific Drive's first expansion looks incredible. And guess what? It just shadow dropped. Read the rest of the story...
