- The Last Slapmas - 5 December 2025
This is a difficult update to have to make, but for about a year and a half now, Slappyball's matchmaking servers have cost much more than the amount of money Slappyball has been making us, even with the minimum amount of servers possible. Ad revenue has been much lower than it used to be and very few people buy DLC or currency for cosmetics. As a small company, the extra cost is a significant burden. As of now we're planning on January 30th, 2026 being the last day for dedicated matchmaking servers. What this means to you as a player: Custom lobby matches hosted by players, practice mode, and AI matches will all still be available indefinitely as they don't cost us anything to continue offering for free. Hey, small but medium sized update here: We felt for awhile that for casual matches, it's length can vary a ton. And for a cute lil sports game, having a game go on for too long doesn't feel great. Plus, what if you are expecting a shorter game and have important Business to attend to? Casual matches are now just one set, 12 points to victory. Help your teammates and mess up opponents by switching it at the key time! Low gravity does have reduced distractions - the court is powered down, so decide as a team what you prefer. - Better Bots! - 15 March 2023
The bots have been training! AI opponent dives now work like normal players and are less OP. They also got better at hitting the ball in the air. It's almost spring! The winter map now shows up in casual with the same probability as every other map. Also a couple of small visual changes: the billboards now look more better when there's not an ad playing and the customization screen looks a little bit nicer now too.
- Small Bug Fixes & Goodbye to Black History Month - 1 March 2023
Black History Month is almost over, and the next Holiday event will be March 8th for International Women's Day. There are now new skin tone options for hands as we say goodbye to February! There will now be a consent popup for new advertisements that will be added to the game in the future. Change what you are comfortable with at any time inside of the settings! The competitive default button for custom match lobbies now mirrors the Slappyball League's ruleset. The 'On Fire' powerup is no longer automatically applied, instead, the fire ball resource will be the only source for the power. There is a fix for ranked backfill not respecting rank.

The Superb Owl and Valentine's Day are upon us! Enjoy the holiday decorations from the 10th to the 12th, and then from the 13th to the 17th of February. Along with decorations, we will have new limited time cosmetic items available. Check out what's new each day and grab what suits your fashion style! There have been several spectator mode improvements: There is now a togglable Score UI for spectators, the camera starts in a better-to-use position, and there is a bug fix for the smoothness settings. Slap some balls!
