- Schooling update & bundle release - 10 April 2025
Dear koi farmers, Todays update improves the koi schooling behavior. Koi now group based on their color, which makes it easier to tell different breeds apart while they're swimming. These screenshots show the improvement: the koi in the first image use the old schooling algorithm, and exactly the same group of koi swims grouped by color on the second one. The screenshots were not captured on a PC, but on the upcoming Nintendo Switch version, which will be released this year. We're making good progress, the game runs well, and we're currently working on porting the interface. Stay tuned! The 'Chill Hoarding' bundle is out now, featuring both Koi Farm and Trash Goblin — a cozy shopkeeping game where you collect, clean, upcycle, and sell trinkets to curious customers. That means that all koi farm owners get a nice discount if they buy Trash Goblin, or you can get both at a lower price.
- Koi Farming Fest - 29 April 2024
Dear koi farmers, To celebrate the Steam Farming Fest, koi farm is 40% off! The game has also received an update: When the book is open, a button appears that takes the player to the settings menu, so a keyboard is no longer needed to play. The tutorial can now be skipped. A loading animation is added to the main menu. Some minor fixes and improvements.

- Koi Farm patch notes - 23 October 2023
Dear koi farmers, I've just pushed a small patch that prevents the shift and control keys from remaining in the "pressed" state when tabbing out of the game. This caused koi to be teleported (shift + click and control + click behavior) unexpectedly when tabbing back to the game window.

- Koi Farm on Steam deck - 17 March 2023
Dear koi farmers, I've had several messages of Steam deck owners experiencing problems with touch controls. Sometimes, a region to the right and bottom of the screen can't receive input. While I'm trying to fix the issue, a user on our discord has verified that this problem doesn't occur when running the game in desktop mode. I hope this helps Steam deck users until the game is patched!

Dear koi farmers, A small patch has been published today: Some compatibility issues with Steam Deck and Linux were fixed. When changing settings that require reboots, the game automatically reboots back into the previously loaded save. If you are playing koi farm on a Steam deck, please let me know how it runs in the comments! If anything else can be improved, I'll add it to future updates.

Dear koi farmers, Lightning flashes during thunderstorms can now be turned off by a menu setting, since they can be an issue for players with epilepsy. Thunderstorms still occur when flashes are turned off, but there will not be any flashes.
- Halloween update - 28 October 2021
Dear koi farmers, To celebrate the Halloween sale, koi farm gets a special update today! The most visible change is the autumn theme that will be active during the Halloween sale: On top of that, several smaller features have been added to the game: Control + click teleports a fish to the opposite pond, or to the big pond if the fish is in the river. Shift + click teleports a fish back into the river. Web (also called brindle) patterns can now stack. Stripe patterns can now stack. It is now possible to combine a ridge and a stripe pattern. Dear koi farmers, By popular request, I've added more empty pages to the card book. When all challenges have been completed, the book has 30 empty pages available that can be used to store any koi. Time to clean up those crowded ponds!
- Koi Farm save slots - 31 May 2021
Dear koi farmers, By popular request, Koi Farm now supports three save slots, so three totally different koi ponds can be created. Existing saves will automatically become pond #1, and ponds #2 and #3 will become available as new save slots. All three ponds will be synchronized by Steam Cloud.
