- Major Controller Update - 10 March 2025
Hey everyone, it's been a while, but Deep Sea Valentine finally received another update! First things first: Yes, sorry, this DOES NOT work with your existing save files. But the good news is that you can switch to the "compatibility" branch under Properties -> Betas, in case you have any unfinished business. Let me know if you run into trouble! So why did I do this? I'm glad you asked, because now it's time for good news only! All controls have been significantly improved: You can now walk around using the mouse Keyboard controls got mildly improved Gamepad controls got a major overhaul & there's glyphs now! All of the above are also being assisted by a much more helpful and intuitive "?" (controls) screen: Full patch notes added mouse movement controls improved controller and keyboard controls added controller glyphs throughout the game added a setting to manually change controller gl…

Just a small update that does exactly 2 things: A popup appears whenever a choice affects the ending you'll get Dialogue sprites will now look smooth in all resolutions Thank you for your support!
- Update 2.2 - 14 December 2021
This patch contains minor fixes and improvements to the gamepad controls. Flip between menus with the gamepad's left and right shoulders Exit the game menu with the B button Added borders to the currently hovered shortcut and gallery button (So it's more obvious which one is selected) Fixed Triche's CG for real Fixed position of the speaking character's name in the Russian version Some typo fixes for the Russian version Let me know if you spot anything else! Thank you for your support, and remember to leave a review if you have the time!
- Update 2.1 - 7 December 2021
Hey everyone, the new update is finally here! The biggest new features are the following: Controller support. That's right, you can now play Deep Sea Valentine without using your mouse or keyboard! Russian and German translations. Deep Sea Valentine can now be played in two additional languages! Pixel sprites reflect characters' height differences. Feli, Triche, and Joru are appropriately tiny now! Option to switch between looks. Prefer the casual outfits? You can now play with those during the main game!* Improved appearance of the game menu. More sleek, simple, and easy to use! *This only affects the full-body illustrations for now, without the pixel art. I'm hoping to include that in a future update. The update also includes a few minor improvements: Albica now follows you around in the cave Fixed Triche's CG Added tooltips for all settings More save slots Thank you for your patience…
- Controller Support & More Languages Coming Soon! - 29 November 2021
Hey everyone! A new update is planned for next month, finally providing the long-awaited controller support, and making the game available in two additional languages: Russian and German! On top of that, the update will add many minor visual improvements. For example, the characters' pixel art will reflect their height differences: I hope you'll look forward to it! But, as usual, updates require me to give a word of warning: Old save files will no longer work in the updated version of the game! Please make sure you're not stuck in the middle of a route when the update comes out, or you'll have to replay it from the beginning. (Unless you've already unlocked its shortcut.) Thank you for your continued support!

Thank you for playing Deep Sea Valentine!
- Update 2.0 - 17 August 2021
It's here, finally! And it's a big one! Thank you so much for your patience, everyone! As promised, the new update contains the following: Massive Engine Update. Probably the main issue many people were experiencing was a low framerate. The new engine should significantly help with this problem and make for a much smoother gameplay experience! Bonus Story. Reaching a certain ending now unlocks an epilogue containing 10-20 minutes of funny dialogue and brand new eye candy! Route Shortcuts. After unlocking your first ending, you will gain access to the "Shortcuts" button from the main menu. This lets you skip to a specific ending, provided you've already seen the necessary scenes from the common route. See this guide for more details about how it works! Fixed achievements. The previous update introduced an error that prevented achievements from unlocking on Steam. This is fixed now, and y…
- Version 2.0 Coming Soon! - 13 August 2021
Hey everyone! I'm happy to announce that the next update will be ready soon. Here's what's coming your way: Massive Engine Update. It took a while, but it's finally coming! The new engine significantly boosts performance and has a much smoother camera. I think you'll really love how the game feels to play! Bonus Story. If you've reached a certain ending, you will unlock an epilogue featuring all the girls in brand new outfits! Route Shortcuts. I'm introducing a new feature that will make getting all endings and 100%ing the game a lot easier. No more running back and forth between the murky waters and purple forest a million times! Fixed achievements. The previous update introduced an error that prevented achievements from unlocking on Steam. This will be corrected. And more! A sneak peek at the new bonus story. Aside from that, I'm also publishing an art book for Deep Sea Valentine. It…
- Update 1.4 - 20 June 2021
The new update is here! Without further ado, let's jump into the patch notes. Here's what was added/changed: A new walking and running speed slider. This lets you decide how fast you move across the maps. Major condensation of the maps. All the maps are now around 33% smaller, while keeping the general layout the same. This should make exploring a lot more interesting, since all events and landmarks are closer to each other, and enter your field of vision more quickly! Repositioning of certain objects. Along with the new layout of the maps, I've repositioned some of the secret objects to be slightly more difficult to find. The purple forest is now actually purple. You'll see what I mean when you get there! Rounded corners for the hills. Softening those sharp edges should make the underwater world look a lot more natural. Sea stars can now be on the ground as well. Because why shouldn't…
- New Update Coming Next Month! - 29 May 2021
Hey everyone, it's been a while! I wanted to let you know that update 1.4 is in the works. I did a little something to the game's graphics. From this screenshot, can you spot what's different from version 1.3? If you want to confirm your guess, you can read my full announcement here! It outlines all the visual changes, and also reveals a new preference slider I'll be adding. Aside from that, the developer of Deep Sea Valentine's engine is working hard on improving the framerate, but as of now there is no precise ETA on that. There's a good chance it'll be part of the next update, but maybe it'll have to wait until version 1.5. Thank you for your patience! In either case: The next update should be out in around three weeks. I hope you'll like it! Also, I want to warn you ahead of time that the update will break the backwards compatibility of save files. If you're almost done with a route…
- Update 1.3 - 1 March 2021
This update fixes touch events once and for all. Namely, it is now impossible to "run over" an event, no matter what computer you're using. Use the shift key with no worries! I'm also happy to announce that the developer of the Pink Engine (the RPG framework Deep Sea Valentine uses) is completely revamping the rendering system. Their goal is to release the next update at the end of March, and I will try my best to implement those changes as soon as they're out. This should make the game run much smoother on all computers, so please look forward to it! I'm also pretty sure that the next update (1.4) will break the compatibility of old save files, so please plan your playthroughs accordingly. Thank you for your support and patience!
- Update 1.2 - 19 February 2021
This fix takes care of two issues: Getting stuck in the cave No longer happens. Yay! Getting stuck as walking if you open the menu while walking This probably didn't affect many people, but now it won't be affecting anyone. Unfortunately, this will break compatibility with old save files, so you will have to start a New Game in order to keep playing. I apologize for that. Thank you for your patience, and I hope you will continue to enjoy Deep Sea Valentine!
- Update 1.1 - 16 February 2021
It was time for Deep Sea Valentine's first update! This release introduces the following changes: CG Gallery You can now view the ending images in the menu. No more need to replay an ending just for that! Preventing Skipping Events On some computers, touch events would not activate, allowing you to run right over them. That was not good. I've now added invisible walls that prevent you from running further than you should. If you interact with those walls, the relevant cutscene will start just as intended. (I'm aware this isn't the most elegant solution, but so far I wasn't able to figure out what causes the underlying issue. I'm really sorry about that.) Bridge Fix Related to the previous fix: I've added several more opportunities for the bridge change to trigger. And if all of those fail, you will run into an invisible wall that you should interact with. This should make it impossible…
