- Upcoming Demo Changes - Your Feedback Is Shaping City of Atlantis - 6 June 2026
Thank You for the Feedback - What We Are Changing Next Hello everyone! First of all, thank you. Over the last few days, we received more than 300 direct in-game feedback reports and over 100 survey responses. We have been reading through them carefully, and your feedback is already shaping the next updates for the demo. Before we move forward, we want to fix two communication mistakes on our side. 1. This is a Technical Demo, Not a Release Demo City of Atlantis is not close to release yet. This is an Open Technical Demo, not a final gameplay demo and not a vertical slice of the full game. There are still many months of development ahead of us: more content, more systems, more quality-of-life features, more balance work, more optimization, and a lot of UI improvements. The purpose of this build was to test the foundation with a wider group of players: Does the setting work?Is the circula…
- Demo - Hotfix #3 - 6 June 2026
Hello everyone! As we expected, Hotfix #1 and Hotfix #2 fixed the vast majority of reported cases. Now we are focusing on the remaining edge cases and possible soft blocks. Changelog Ship Soft Lock Fix After Patch 1 and Patch 2, your reports helped us identify one more situation where ships could appear to be stuck. If the treasury ran out of money, ships could enter an “out of funds” state and stop working. Since the game did not clearly explain this state or provide a quick way to react to it, it could lead to an unintended soft lock. Dev Note In some cases, this looked like a “ships are stuck” bug, while in reality the ships could not reserve enough gold to continue operating. This was especially misleading because ships are essential in the early game, before your population starts building platforms and buildings on its own. It could also be confused with the “ship strike” state, w…
- Hotfix Patch #2 - 5 June 2026
Hello everyone, Another hotfix patch #2 is here. | Changelog: Fixed several possible causes of bugs that could make ships stop performing their assigned tasks. This is Part 2 of the fix. Part 1 covered around 90% of reported cases, and Part 2 should cover most of the remaining ones. There is always that final 1% where something unexpected may still happen, but this should greatly improve ship reliability. Fixed a bug where scavenging ruins could sometimes fail to trigger the assigned event. The quest should now be completable, and ships should no longer get stuck in the "I want to finish this research first" queue. Fixed several edge-case hardware-related crashes. Added red highlighting to the building tooltip, making it easier to see which resources are missing. To everyone who encountered this bug - we’re sorry for the trouble, and we hope this hotfix lets you fully enjoy building and…
- Demo Hotfix Patch - #1 - 5 June 2026
Hello everyone, We worked all night to prepare this hotfix, and here it is: Changelog Fixed several possible causes of bugs that could make ships stop performing their assigned tasks. Dev commentary: Even though this issue affected less than 1% of cases, it was still a major problem. Fixed a bug where demolition could get stuck mid-progress. Ships will now fully demolish buildings as intended. Fixed a bug that could lock ships during a queuing action while the game was paused or time was frozen. Fixed a bug where clicking the “Destroy” button could leave an unfinished task. New behavior: After selecting a building for deconstruction, the player cursor will now automatically return to normal mode and will no longer trigger further unintentional deconstructions. Added a new “Cancel Order” button for ships. To add an extra safety layer in case we missed anything, this button cancels the sh…

- City of Atlantis – Dev Update - 31 October 2025
City of Atlantis – Dev Update Hello everyone! Sorry for being a bit quiet lately – we’ve been very busy scaling up the project and improving almost every part of the game. Closed Demo Update We originally planned to organize the Closed Demo Tests much earlier, but our production team gave us strong feedback: “Hold it! This is going in a really good direction – let’s not rush it.” And honestly, they were right. Was it worth it? Let’s just say the screenshots will speak for themselves. The results are promising and we couldn’t be happier with the direction we’re heading. If you haven’t yet joined our new Discord, come say hi: Join our Discord You can also sign up for Closed Demo testing here (we already have over 200 testers, but the more feedback, the better): Closed Demo Sign-Up Form Like Atlantis – It Takes Time to Rise We believe you only get one chance to make a strong first impressi…
- City of Atlantis March Update & Closed Technical Demo Registry - 31 March 2025
Hi everyone, This time we’ve got something cool that we think you might really enjoy: 1.When looking at our game, we realized that the color palette felt a bit… dull. But how do you change that when you're in the middle of the ocean? The answer: a full Day & Night cycle with dynamic sky reflections. And here’s the result (WiP): Night-time lighting isn’t ready yet, so our Atlantis still looks a bit dark 😉 But you can probably tell where we’re heading with this. Now imagine combining this with other mechanics – like the crowd simulation system or dynamic building changes influenced by player decisions. The result? Potentially some very unique and engaging gameplay experiences that make Atlantis a world worth exploring. Of course, gameplay is important – but we also believe it should just look good. Why not both, right? ________________________________________ 2. Closed Technical Demo Tes…
- City of Atlantis Update & Technical Demo Announcement - 3 March 2025
Hello everyone! Sorry for being a bit quiet! We’ve been working hard on something special, and we’re excited to share more details with you later this month. 1.What We’ve Done in the Past Few Months We’ve added several major game mechanics, including: Taxation Government System Production Chains Population Simulation and many more The full list is huge, so instead of writing everything here, take a look at some new game models related to those mechanics; Capitol: A massive government structure that will drain your resources while allowing you to set up (often pointless and annoying) laws for your citizens—just like in real life! It is massive, hilariously big—an ideal representation of any government. Of course, leveling it up will unlock more laws while consuming even more goods and taxes. Port A large 3-tile-wide building that unlocks access to trading and expansion. Since the world m…

- City of Atlantis: Important news! - 25 October 2024
Hello everyone, We are thrilled to make our first official post about our upcoming game. Most importantly, we want to assure you that the project has not been abandoned. On the contrary, for the first time in a long while, it is in the right hands. Changes Behind the Scenes We wanted to let you know that we've made some significant changes behind the scenes. Unfortunately, our previous studio couldn't deliver the quality we envisioned, so we've taken over the development. From now on, everything will change—from how we share the game's status to testing, communication, and so on. Current Stage of the Project We are currently between the Vertical Slice and Alpha stages. For those unfamiliar with these terms: This phase can last anywhere from 3 months up to 1.5 years, depending on various factors like idea iterations, development of game mechanics, implementation of feedback from playtest…
