- Kitsu's Destiny is coming to Android, and we need beta testers! - 25 August 2026
I'm officially announcing that 1.6.0 will release on Android!I don't have a launch date yet, as Google has new requirements for new apps on Google Play, so we're looking for beta testers to help us meet those. Sign-up with your email here. The ideal launch date is November 11th, 2026.Full disclosure, signing up will also add you to the (at most monthly, but often less frequent) Nexxus Drako Multimedia mailing list.

- Demo Update 1.2 - 1 June 2026
I've just updated the Demo Version to 1.2 to fix some instability and possible bugs. There is no real changelog, as the instability and bugs are considered minor fixes. It still mostly mirrors the full game's Version 1.5.3.The changes are all behind-the-scenes and don't affect the demo's gameplay scope. For those you playing the demo, thanks for trying Kitsu's Destiny, and please consider buying the full game.
- Version 1.5.3 - 19 May 2026
Hey, Nexxus here with a new version update. Have a changelog:Updated demo to the latest version with a new ending cutscene.Changed the splash screen to the new company name.Cut out all unneccesary extra files as development is basically complete and only balance and bugfix changes will be in future.Broke saves again, as such Steam Cloud will not be available until July 1st.Thanks for playing Kitsu's Destiny. News on a possible 2nd game from me is yet to come.
- V1.5.2 Update - 13 April 2026
Fix: Game crashes on new or otherwise non-NG+ saves when talking to old man. I have no idea how it passed QA, my beta testers have since been lectured. Thanks to Silent Flame Spirit for the bug report via Steam review.
- Version 1.5.1 Patch Notes - 8 February 2026

I've also re-enabled Steam Cloud, and suggest deleting or overwriting any saves which break.Changes:Bump RMMZ corescript to v1.10.0Disable leftover debug modeUnder-the-hood debugging changesThanks for your continued enjoyment of Kitsu's Destiny. - V1.5 "Kazumi" Update - 2 January 2026
I finally found the time to remake V1.4.1 and update the game! After the release of v1.4.0 under the MPL, I figured that code was actually broken and unreleased in-progress v1.4.1 code. I've taken that code and I am working on a "Definitive Update" now I'm finally in a much better mental, physical, and financial state and able to resume developing the game.Changenotes for V1.5WARNING: ANY EXISTING SAVE GAMES WILL PERMANENTLY BREAK UPON UPDATING.Fix wrong warp bug during True Ending causing it to fail.Miscellaneous True Ending changes for consistency with Kitsu Game II (in pre-production).Change all mentions of retired Kitsunet branding to Nexxus Drako branding.Credits fixes to apportion true credit.Other miscellaneous changes due to incomplete found code from in-progress v1.4.1 alpha.Changed the GameID due to v1.5 being forked off an in-progress v1.4.1 codebase, breaking all saves. Steam…
- Kitsu’s Destiny V1.4.0 Goes Open Source - 31 May 2025
I'm excited to announce the open source release of Kitsu’s Destiny v1.4.0 under the Mozilla Public License 2.0! This version is not the current release build, but it provides a solid foundation for modders, developers, and curious minds to build upon. All third-party assets—such as art, music, and plugins we don’t own or have redistribution rights for—have been stripped out to comply with licensing rules. That said, most of the removed assets are: • Available via the Dependency Sources linked in the repo • Included in the default RPG Maker asset library Why Now? Simple: I found an old ZIP of 1.4.0 and decided it was time. There’s a chance a cleaned-up 1.4.1 build (tentatively called 1.4.2) could be re-released with updated branding (Drakonian Nexus instead of KitsuNet), and possibly some tweaks to the pricing or metadata. What’s Next? Open-sourcing Kitsu’s Destiny was always part of the…
- Soundtrack Released! - 18 February 2025
The soundtrack for Kitsu's Destiny has released for US$2.99. It features music made by Extrasolar Detonation, aka, Kitsu's Destiny developer Pyra Drake. It features nine tracks used in the game in rough chronological order.
- Credit Corrections and True Ending Info - 5 February 2025
As the game codebase has been lost, I issue the final corrections to the credits, as well as the distribution of information regarding the "True Ending". Corrections to Credits Lead Developer and Designer is Pyra Drake (aka Nexxus Drako). All mentions of ZeroDei are intended to be Nexxus Drako. Skylar/Dianella is no longer Pyra's girlfriend. True Ending The True Ending is related to dialogue and character changes as the characters reveal their true names. The True Ending occurs after beating Dark Lady 30, in which you enter the Truth phase of the game. After beating Dark Lady 31, you enter the post-Truth phase, in which the character names remain revealed. There remains bloodline content until Dark Lady 50, at which the game will tell you there is no content past this point, but you may continue. Game stability is not guaranteed beyond Dark Lady 50. There was intent to have an ARG in th…
- End of Development Announcement - 28 May 2024
I will no longer be updating the game in any fashion as I've lost the code to the game in a major incident of data loss. Furthermore, I'm currently having legal issues which I cannot talk about under advice of my lawyer, but which may seriously impact my future ability to make updates... and indeed caused a period of inactivity from September 2023 to March 2024. The game will not be discounted any more than it is, and it will continue to be 75% off for every major sale. Thanks for playing Kitsu's Destiny.
- Update Notes for 1.4.1 - 1 August 2023
This patch once again breaks old saves, for the last time, hopefully. - Added Achievement Reinitializer to the Debug Piano right of the Dark Lady on New Game+ - Added effects to all attacks where missing. - Changed the font to Junction, an open source font. - No more RPG Maker default font! - Saved a TON of install size but cutting a bunch of excess sounds. - Updated the assets for the game on steam to be way cleaner.
- Version 1.4 "Kalliope" Released! - 26 July 2023
We are excited to announce the release of Version 1.4 "Kalliope" for Kitsu’s Destiny! This update brings a host of new features, improvements, and fixes to the game. First and foremost, we have removed the accidental debug menu that was causing some confusion for players. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. We have also added new music to the game, composed by the talented Projekt Kalliope (a.k.a. Myself, formerly known as Extrasolar Detonation). We hope you enjoy these new tunes as you explore the world of Kitsu’s Destiny. In terms of gameplay improvements, we have fixed some odd conditions that were only allowing certain Dark Lady moves to proc every 3 turns. This should make combat more fluid and enjoyable. We have also added 50% of weapon ATK to MAT to make using skills more viable. This should provide more strategic options for players during combat. In additio…
- KitsuNet's Nexxus Drako Gaming Plays Kitsu's Destiny; Faer Solo GameDev Project - 4 July 2023
My name is Celeste and this is Kitsu's Destiny. This game development all started when I decided to create an RPG Maker game like Cookie Clicker in 2015. At the time, I had no idea that this game would turn out to be so special. Since its release, this RPG Maker game has taken off and has even been featured on the front page of the Steam Store. In this video, I'll reveal the secrets of my game and discuss the creative work that went into making it. I hope you enjoy watching this as much as I've enjoyed making it! If you're a fan of roguelikes and clicker games, then you should definitely check out Kitsu's Destiny. This game is full of challenges, and is sure to keep you entertained for hours on end! == END AI-GENERATED DESCRIPTION == Please note that I have since removed the accidental debug menu, but it worked PERFECTLY for the purposes I needed it for. Yes, I made a video game. I hate…
- Tiny update notes for June 30th - 30 June 2023
I forgot to remove the debug menu. Also, 1.4 will be in beta testing soon. Seriously... I genuinely forgot to remove ONE damn thing. It's only 3.5 KB thankfully.
- Version 1.3 Released: Patch Notes - 6 June 2023
Doubled the damage of Judgement, I made it way too weak. Added a bloodline bonus of 2% for every kill to EXP and Gold gains. Nerfed confusion to drop your attack to 25% of normal so you can't OHKO yourself. Credits adjustments and updates. Major changes to True Ending. Some achievements added for story. Money and Battle cheevos to come. Added more CGMZ plugins to use later. Started tracking some extra stats for cheevos. Only affects V1.3 and beyond. Added a splash screen. Heavily boosted bloodline items. Allowed Radiant Blade a cnance to Blind. Moved some skills to be learned a little earlier.
- UPDATED MAY 29: V1.3 Public Beta (Release Candidate 2) - 20 May 2023
Update: Release Candidate 2 is out, this time with Achievements. They also work this time, and you can actually see them, you couldn't before because I accidentally 10 variables. All achievements will need new saves, but please don't get too upset, as I'll have to add new achievements in 1.4. Also, I'm extending the beta by another week. I'll definitely have it out before summer sale at the very least. Sorry I missed the Spring sale, I forgor 💀 Yep, I just had a bunch of brainwaves and it's time for the game to hit 1.3. I want folks to do some public beta testing, you can do it via the regular Steam beta system. Please reply to this post or on the Steam forums to send feedback. I really want this feedback. If all is bug-free, this will be the next public release. Doubled the damage of Judgement, I made it way too weak. Added a bloodline bonus of 2% for every kill to EXP and Gold gains.…
- Discontinuation Notice: Dark Lady 18+ Pinup Pack DLC + Update on KitsuNet - 13 April 2023
I've come to the decision that I will be discontinuing the Dark Lady 18+ Pinup Pack DLC on April 30th. This is mainly so the entire Deluxe Edition can be bought without needing to disable the explicit content filter and the entire game as available sans that DLC, which adds zero gameplay. The DLC itself was only ever intended as a bonus for early purchasers. I will not be reducing the price of the DLC however, as I don't intend to cater to the discontinued games community again. I still have a bad taste in my mouth from last time… mostly out of guilt. And I'll be blunt, I only did it because I accidentally created a DLC package in the Steam backend and didn't know how to undo it. In the end, I took a bunch of AI art I made for personal use with Novel AI's top level plan, so I had commercial rights. In addition, I've since realised that AI art is a very touchy subject in the artist commu…
- Post-Drama Price Increase - 27 February 2023
Now the (admittedly self-created) drama from January has passed, I have changed the game's price to what I believe it to be once I've completed balancing, testing, and whatever new features. I apologise for the radio silence, I've been having an absolute nightmare of a time offline and have just basically been in my room crying most days. The IT course absolutely did not work out, and I've once again been struggling to get my life in order. My mental and physical health has been a disaster, and most of my first royalty check is earmarked for medical bills. Not an excuse, just an explanation. I need to do a little better, and I have some feedback. It may just take me a while to get around to doing it. The new price is US$5. DLCs are now US $2. All other prices are set to Steam's standards. This is now permanent, but in order to do so, we have to skip the Spring Sale. It is likely we will…
- Version 1.2 + Mac Support - 6 February 2023
Due to the lack of negative feedback… or feedback at all, I have followed through on my promise to publish V1.2 after a week in beta. This includes the official macOS release, which I still have zero input about, but assume works, if it doesn't, let me know. I'm relying on some Steamworks magic, after all. Please note that this update is COMPLETELY incompatible with previous saves, and they will either be deleted, or broken. They may appear to work, but a lot of data gets baked into them by RPG Maker. Players also cannot go back to a previous version due to some deployment issues, mostly related to my own stupidity. I take full responsibility for any issues with save games, and I really can't promise compatibility between versions going forward. Likewise, I will definitely try not to break saves, but RPG Maker really has a mind of its own re: saves. Changes: Changed up and revamped the…
