- Micropatch 1.5.3 - 28 June 2026
Just addressing a niche bug that could cause online games in unusual circumstances. Alongside of this are some more online stability changes, so to resume in-progress online games make sure everyone is on the latest build. The online has come a pretty tremendous way since launch, but fixes like this are still thanks to player reports and log files. Thanks to everyone still sending me errors and bug reports!Version TweaksFixed a bug causing online games to disconnect if multiple players all with thorns died simultaneously to an attacking enemy.Optimizations to how online processes combats to make it more efficient and less likely to crash in the future.
- Micropatch 1.5.2 - 22 June 2026
Micropatch 1.5.2When preparing the game for Steam Deck, I made some font size adjustments to English fonts. These made it easier to read the game on Deck - but there are edge cases where you can get text overruns. This patch is a micropatch that fixes the overruns that I'm aware of:Player names in the stats cards and the Level Up panes are slightly shrunkFlavor text is slightly shrunk and moved down a little to avoid overrunsThe settings window applies a blur effect making it a little less visually cluttered while opened
- Patch Notes 1.5.1 - 16 June 2025
Valve recently tested Doomsday for Steam Deck compatibility!I made a few changes to the default branch in order to make it play a bit easier on Steam Deck. The game was originally tested on the console- but newer updates like the Compendium weren't checked and the text could be small and hard to read. The text size is now a fair bit bigger for features where it was previously very small. I did some light testing on this- but it's possible there were some unintended results so if you see a bit of formatting junk then shoot me a message.Steam Deck compatibility will still show "Playable" because we're just under the requested guidelines- but you won't see anything that's an eye strain to read anymore. Content ChangesFixed a typo in the feet loving ghost event.MiscText sizes on the Collections menu, Achievement Tabs, button hints, and the Unlocks menu has been bumped up for easier reading o…
- Content Wave 3- Patch Notes 1.5 - 10 November 2024
Content Wave 3 - Version 1.5 Patch Notes Well everyone, we're finally here- the final content update, coming one year after the game's initial launch. As far as content updates go- this one's a bit smaller. It's more of a victory lap- rounding out the game with a new boss, some new costumes, and some bugfixes. As far as first indie games go, Doomsday did really well- but it's no secret that it never got big. I'll continue fixing any bugs that pop up- but this will likely be the last content update unless we have a big Cinderella moment. Thank you all for playing and taking this journey with me! I'm thinking a bit more about the future, and while the Discord is a little slow between updates it's where I'll be pulling testers and players for future games. Consider joining it if you're interested in that sort of thing. New Content A new boss, Krogath, joins the game! Discover 60 endings to…
- Wave 2 Update- Version 1.4.0 - 12 September 2024
It's been a while since the last game update! But I'm here and ready with the Wave 2 update, just in time for the launch of the Nintendo Switch version! Getting the game to run on the Nintendo Switch required a huge overhaul to the way the game loads and stores information. Alongside the new content, you should expect significantly reduced start up load times and memory usage- meaning you'll be able to play on even weaker machines than before. I don't want to keep anyone waiting. Here are the patch notes! Patch Notes 1.4.0 New Content Unlockable enemy Merrow joins the fray. Unlockable boss Sun Champ joins the fray. The Unlocks menu will showcase what costumes and enemies you still need to unlock... and their unlock conditions. The Collection menu will showcase everything you've found! A brand new Holiday Mode toggle will let you guarantee bosses appear in their holiday threads! The Spar…
- Patch Notes 1.3.4 - 6 June 2024
Patch Notes 1.3.4 This is set to be another small patch as we gear up for the wave 2 update. Special thanks to all the completionists in my Discord who have been sending in bug reports and typos! This patch is thanks to them. You may notice that the last patch notes were for 1.3.2- so what gives? 1.3.3 was pushed out! But it was some backend online stability fixes, and I thought a patch note that just read "more online tweaks" wasn't going to be all that exciting. Feature Tweaks Abandons are now counted even if you fail to save the world. Your stats pages will modify slightly as a result of this update. Bug Fixes Fixed a game hang that would occur after killing a non-boss enemy with the Blockbreaker item. Fixed a bug causing Doomsday Paradise 15 to misattribute all affection to Brymelle. Very many typo fixes
- Patch Notes - 1.3.2 Hotfix - 26 April 2024
I've received a handful of reports around crashes for 3-4 player games. Thanks to these reports and the accompanying save files- we've got numerous fixes! I've tested these pretty thoroughly, but I'm just one guy so let me know if you hit anything strange. To the best of my knowledge the online mode should just work now, but as always please submit a bug report if you encounter any issues. Online Bugfixes Fixed a bug that could cause disconnects when entering the character select screen. Fixed a bug that could cause disconnects when leaving the character select screen. Fixed a bug that could cause disconnects after selecting a character. Fixed a bug that could cause disconnects at the start of an in-combat turn in larger games. Reduced the latency threshold before packet buffering to 50 ms from 100 ms. Fixed a bug where Fairy Godmother would display the wrong Tooth Fairies to joining pl…
- Patch Notes 1.3.1 - 13 April 2024
We haven't had much in the way of bug reports since the last update, so this is a very small update. The next content update will hit sometime this summer, so I'll be focused mostly on bugfixes until then. If you hit any issues, please leave a bug report in the Steam forums! It's the best way to bring them to my attention. Fixed Bugs Fixed a bug where Goblin King wouldn't appear in the introductory "Doom Approaches" screen. Removed Puff Puff Pillow from the random item pool. The unlock menu will now show bosses in their holiday threads if they're dressed up Small Typo Fix
- Patch Notes 1.3 - Online Fixes and More - 11 March 2024
I hope everyone's been enjoying the Wave 1 Update! Now that the dust has settled a bit, I've got a new patch with some new fixes and a little surprise. Online Fixes This patch should fix most, if not all, the outstanding problems with the game's online mode. Please give it a try and let me know if you hit any more problems! This is thanks to everyone who was able to send me in-progress save files- which were incredibly helpful in reproducing these issues. Fixed a bug where quitting the game with the force quit button with the inventory open would crash the game. Fixed a bug where the host player would not convert the game to a local one when all other players had left. Fixed a bug where online games would disconnect when a player entered combat with a large inventory. Fixed a bug where online games would disconnect when a player started their turn. Fixed a bug where online games would d…
- Content Wave 1 - Patch Notes 1.2 - 14 February 2024

One of the goals was to increase variety around the Hospital location specifically- since very few quest lines started there. There's lots more to explore! Finishing a game (or quitting a game) will unlock the boss if you meet their unlock conditions. Significantly more in-combat logging for better bug and crash detection. A new SFX has been added when viewing the endings screen. Bugfixes The online stability fix released last patch now correctly applies to miniboss battles (whoops) Online stability improvements. These will be translated and corrected in the next content update, when everything goes through localization! Some item/skill tooltips don't have translations. Some item/skill tooltips are improperly named, or have typos. Online St…

New Icons for a small handful of skills that were sharing art with others. This patch has a special surprise! See if you can find it. There's now a proper tooltip when hovering over your Dodge % Art Gallery now wraps long names. Buff skills now "count up" when activated. - Nominate Doomsday Paradise for the Steam Awards! - 21 November 2023
The Steam Awards are Here! The Steam Awards are here! It's no secret that this year has been stacked with incredible games like Zelda, Spider-Man, Baldur's Gate, and more. In fact, if you're an indie game developer thinking of submitting for an award, you should probably think again because you've got no shot. But fortunately none of those games are multiplayer which means they can't win the Better with Friends category! Reasons to vote Doomsday Paradise for Better with friends You think the game is better with friends You've never played the game with friends, but you'd like to imagine playing with a friend and that friend is super hot and totally into you You've never even thought about playing the game with friends because you don't play multiplayer games. But because of that, you don't have any other games to submit for the category and this one has as a crab in a speedo so why not?…
- Cloud Saving Online! - 17 November 2023
This is a small update to let everyone know that Cloud Saving is now enabled! If you've been playing across multiple devices, I'd recommend signing on with your main device first to sync the correct data to the cloud.
- Patch Notes - Hotfix 1.0.3 - 16 November 2023
Patch Notes V 1.0.3 Thanks to the rollout of the save/load function from the last patch, we were able to fix a critical networking error. As a result, I'm pushing out my third patch in one week (I guess these would count as hotfixes). New When continuing an online game, you can now pick which character you'd like to play as. Bugfixes Typo fixes Fixed a bug that would occasionally cause network disruption at a critical moment at the start of combat, causing multiplayer games to hang endlessly. Fixed a bug where full screen mode would have offset mouse positioning. Fixed a bug where the stats cards would have incorrect coloring when continuing a game. Fixed a bug where a minion could softlock the game by attempting to cast a buff spell after you'd been killed by thorns. Fixed a bug where a player who partied in an online game then joined a second one and then fought could see desync'd end…
- Patch Notes V 1.0.2 - 14 November 2023
Patch Notes V 1.0.2 I've seen more than my fair share of multiplayer disconnects while watching streams over the last week. Online is hard, and while that's true it's not an excuse for what I feel is an unacceptable play experience. So I've been crunching for the last few days to get this update out the door as soon as possible. This updates features some bugfixes, typo fixes, and the introduction of mid-game saving. It's been pushed out much faster than a typical cadence because every unfinished game breaks my heart. New Features Mid-game saving Multiplayer games can take a long time, and it sucks to lose your file and all your progress. The game will now automatically save after every turn. If something happens, simply press the "Continue" button to resume the game right from the title screen, with all your prior settings intact! You can also host your game online for others to join.…
- Patch Notes V 1.0.1 and Future Roadmap - 12 November 2023
First- THANK YOU! We've had a really incredible launch. I'm writing this about a day before this patch will go live- and at the time of writing we have a 99% positive review rate after spending over a day on New and Trending! I'm a first time commercial dev, so the response being so positive has been completely overwhelming. Thank you all for your support and understanding even when things don't behave perfectly. I'm committed to ensuring that Doomsday continues to get better with time. Patch Notes Version 1.0.1 Launch has been extremely smooth and relatively bug free- but not quite perfect! There's a few obvious pain points in some small areas that this patch is meant to address. New Features You can now bring up tooltips for your active card by pressing the "Show Stats" button (Alt on PC, bumpers on controllers). You can now bring up tooltips for your active items by hovering over the…
