  The Steam Winter Sale has started! Fire Dogs will be discounted 33% for the duration of the sale (December 19nd through January 2nd). To celebrate the Steam Winter Sale, we've activated limited time content to make the game more festive. In addition to the world feeling slightly more festive, there is a single Christmas present hidden in the world waiting for you to find! If you manage to find it (there is a hint in the images of this post), you will be able to unlock one of four new items that can customize the appearance of your Fire Dog. Each time you play the game, you can find a new present with the chance to unlock more of the items. • Halloween event - 25 October 2022

  To celebrate Halloween and Steam Screamfest, we've released a small update for the season. This will be available only during Steam Screamfest from October 25th to November 1st. The shrines have been temporarily updated to have pumpkins surrounding them. Additionally, there is a Jack-o-Lantern hidden in the game that will unlock a new Scarecrow hat if you can find it! Additionally, the one year anniversary of the game's release is on October 28th. To celebrate, any players that launch the game on the 28th will unlock a special birthday hat or birthday cupcake hat item. Thanks so much for your support! • Lunar New Year Event - 27 January 2022

  To celebrate the Lunar New Year, we've released a small update for the season. The shrines have been temporarily updated to resemble traditional Korean bonfires, Daljip (literal. "Moon House"). Additionally, the King's shrine has a fireworks stand setup giving out free fireworks to anyone that visits! Make sure to stop by to get your limited time item from the fireworks stand. • Cloud Saves - 16 December 2021

  This patch introduces the much needed save files so that game progress can be persisted across multiple game sessions. In addition to game save files, game settings are also now saved to file so changes to music volume, controller sensitivity, and other settings will be the same every time the game is launched. All save files are persisted to Steam Cloud so you can resume your game progress on any computer. Additional small tweaks have been applied to the game to make the user experience easier and more intuitive. Previously, all orbs/shrines shared the same color so it was non-intuitive which orb corresponded with a shrine. Now, all orbs/shrines have a unique color per area so it is more obvious which shrine an orb will provide its power to. • Power Orb Update - 25 November 2021

  The Power Orb update is the first major patch of Fire Dogs. In this update, we have added additional incentives for the player to explore the world, collect hidden or out of reach Orbs, and power up each of the 7 shrines within the game. The Power Orbs can also be collected cooperatively with other players in a multiplayer game, allowing for each player to contribute to the progress of the game. In playtesting, we saw the average playtime roughly triple compared to the previous version of the game. This brings the average playtime for a new player to around 60-80 minutes. Additionally, animal wildlife has been added to the game to make the world feel more dynamic even when playing in single player mode.
