Hi there! If you’re new here, you might not know that Beyond Sunset is a GZDoom-based game. This engine, based on the old tech that powered the OG Doom I & II, has a quirk that makes save files unusable after every update. To mitigate this, there is an option in the game’s main menu to start playing from any episode. Now we have also added a possibility to continue playing without updating the game, using old saves.To switch pre-update branch and continue using old save files: Open your Steam game library.Find Beyond Sunset.Click RMB on the game's title.From the dropdown menu, select "Properties…".Navigate to "Betas" tab.In the "Beta Participation" option, open the dropdown.Select "previous - Previous live build".The game should update automatically (if not, trigger the update manually by clicking on the Update button).If you are on GOG: Open your GOG library.Select Beyond Sunset.Select…

Hey all! We’re all excited about the upcoming release of the FULL version of Beyond Sunset, which will happen on 12 September 2025, coinciding with the Brutal Indies Showcase. Our game is quite brutal, so it’s a perfect match. But what can you find in the final episode that will be added? The start of it comes with a twist regarding our protagonist, but obviously we won’t spoil it. You’ll see a new and very atmospheric location - which will take you through a ruined facility to a more lively remaining part of it, a beautiful canyon with light shafts, and… We won’t tell you more! Obviously, as the final episode, it comes with a proper challenge. There is a new enemy to watch out for, the appropriately difficult final boss, but also combat arenas and encounters that will test your reflexes.
