Camera Settings Update: We've listened to your feedback and are reverting to the camera settings from our October 2021 re-release as the default option for new players. Additionally, we're providing the flexibility to switch between the 2001 original camera, the 2021 re-release camera, and the 2023 console-like, free-rotation camera at any time. Simply navigate to 'Controls' --> 'Camera' to access the 'Reworked Camera' settings. Last months were quite busy working on the major update for the Blade of Darkness. We've checked your feedback, talked to some of you directly and as a result came up with the list of improvements that we want to implement. Let's go straight to this list to show what was done: - upscaled textures (thank you for all your help and support SrRaulCL) - bug fixes for the game’s save system - reworked camera with the ability to freely look around outside of the combat - better controller support - new visual features: improved anti-aliasing, HDR, bloom, SSAO, motion blur - massive patchwork across the game - SteamDeck support (pending Valve's approval) - console versions release Thank you for your support of Blade of Darkness IP across all these years and if you want to spread the word about the game - that's a good moment as we are also putting it on 50% off discount. - Mac & Linux BETA release - 29 April 2022
We're happy to introduce a beta release of native Mac & Linux versions of Blade of Darkness based on the latest v109 build. Mac version should work on systems starting from MacOS 10.9 (Mavericks) and up to the latest M1+ chips. With Linux, we targeted for compatibility with Ubuntu, Manjaro, and Arch distributions. This range of supported systems might change though we hope to keep as is. To access beta builds simply switch the game to the Beta branch in the Steam client. Since it's a beta release bugs are to be expected - we encourage you to report any issue you come across at our Beta branch subforum.

We've heard you loud and clear - playing with the keyboard and mouse shouldn't be the only available option. Today we would like to announce upcoming support for controllers and optional camera stabilization features. As these two go hand in hand we're working to preserve the original feel, yet make everything from combos to menu navigation comfortable and up to modern standards. Once we have a stable version, we will make it public on the beta branch and embrace your feedback. We're aiming to have the first build before the end of the year. - Introducing a 'beta' branch and a new v74 build - 20 October 2021
Following the game's release, we're focused on addressing critical issues some of you encountered while playing the game and you might've noticed our dedication to introducing changes as fast as we can. This backfired with the last two patches, where we seem to bring more problems than fixes for which we're very sorry. Starting from today, aside from a new v74 build, we introduce a new 'beta' branch (in addition to already existing 'default' and 'rollback' branches) where we will be releasing the majority of the following builds first. To avoid any confusion here's the current state we're in: 'beta' - dormant (waiting for the next build) 'default' - v74 'rollback' - v71 The goal of the beta branch is rather straightforward - to avoid stressing the vast majority of the players with potential issues in the new builds.
